Thanks chrisofsweden, I will go and see if a repair helped.

No fog on our mission but yes it did start just before sunrise, like 5 mins before lol! I would have expected it to be a bit more dynamic than that, a lot of our missions (prolly most...) start either at dawn or in a time frame that will make it dark by the time we RTB. If it is the case that it is locked to whatever the start time for the comms that's not very good...

Are you guys still getting the target designator diamond in the HUD? Since the update it is gone for me along with the ability to use CCRP. I have just done a repair, though I also did one after the update so will check again, but its making using any weapons with the TGP not worth the effort. I have all the issues I am reading in the recent threads about the TGP but it seems to me I have another layer of issues with it on top, unless there are new procedures I am not aware of?

Yes, The Flying Kiwis have had a couple of big player number sessions with this happening. Our missions are pushing 25+ people and a large number of those players are in FA18's or F14's off the Super Carrier. I can test the mission hosted by and with myself and it all works as advertised, as soon as 'the gang' joins this happens. You can still get down ok and even still fly it as a Case 1 with a ball call at the end but its not right and is a lot of extra work that is somewhat immersion and concentration breaking. When the comms do work however it is really cool!

See! It is about as offensive for Australians as it is for us!
-
Yes, this is about as cool as having the Ukrainian flag for Russia.
-
Agreed, it was painful, by the feel of it even for Wags... On the positive side though, I think there was a hidden message in the video, when the 'Shooter' spins his hands around in tight circles I think that was a signal that the Super Carrier release is in two weeks.

Looks like we are trying to scrape together as many helo pilots as we can for this weekends mission. It is a helicopter assault on Shiraz airfield as part of a mini campaign we have been running and we need max helo pilots! If your in the Australasian region and love a good long range helicopter mission in a somewhat organized formation with somewhat organized goals and plans please jump in. For these missions we usually get around 25 plus on a password protected server, so if you want to be a part of some really epic and massive missions come and say hi and dive right in. Helos available this weekend are Hueys, gunship and slicks, Mi-8's, gazelles (L). This is not the time to be shy, you will miss out.

We have lifted our game in the way we approach our Sunday night missions now due to popularity, we are seeing huge numbers these days which comes with its own set of challenges. So to keep things a bit more organized and to add a bit more realism to our missions we have a mission roster for people who want to join the mission to slot into their preferred ride and job. The briefings are much more thorough, comms/SRS channels worked, out, GCI etc... Even a tacview debriefing! Unfortunately this means keeping 'randos' out so you will now see our Sunday mission is password protected, a lot of effort by a lot of people goes into it now and we don't want random people coming in and stuffing it all up. But if your in the Australasian region and want to be a part of some really epic and unique missions jump on our discord channel, get to know the crew and chuck your hat in the ring in the mission briefing channel, let Rhino know what you want to do and we will try and fit you in.

I am trailing the Spitfire and had the same issue, a lot of guys in our squad complain about this with the Mustang. Could it be something to do with two versions of the same aircraft? ie: Clipped wing Spit and non clipped? P51D 25 and P51D 30? It seems to happen for me when I try one of the two then go to the other version, wipes all key binds.

[REPORTED]DCS crash at second bumpy landing MP VCRUNTIME140.dll
Woody01 replied to Animal451's topic in Game Crash
We had 25 people on our mission last night and just about every FA18 CTD (or worse) when landing at Khasab after taking off (eventually after all the sliding around and crashing into each other) from the Stennis. -
So work with me here, am I to understand correctly the Super Carrier was delayed because it had issues in multiplayer, only to release a patch that completely renders the current carriers inoperable in multiplayer? The Flying Kiwis are flying some pretty massive, well coordinated, well planned online missions now days of over 24 pilots for each mission at least twice a week. We are busy! But the state of 2.5.6 is quite shocking, and it takes a LOT for me to come here and leave a negative review. My frame rates in VR were very good though, just a shame about the planes bouncing around and smashing into each other on the carriers, a shame almost everyone hard locking at Khasab on landing, a shame about a lot of guys unable too even login on multi player after crashing out of DCS (maybe the servers are being hammered with the free for all?). Might have been better to just release the Super Carrier, at least we would be where we are now with multi player but we would actually have the super carrier (could it be any worse? Really?).

Sorry to buck the trend here but I was able to host 24 people last night and SRS and was getting above 20fps in what was a very heavy mission, 20fps sounds terrible but that is a lot of people to host off of my gaming rig, as players dropped off it went up to 40~. On our simple cross country warbird navigation map (with nothing going on) I was seeing up too 60fps! So since the original 2.5.6 where I was seeing very bad performance (6-10fps) it has steadily improved each patch for me. Its not perfect but certainly playable and for me it has incrementally improved. I am using a HP Reverb, i7 8700, 32Gig RAM, 2080 Super on an M2 SSD.

Well I've got some good news for you. Our group (TFK) updated today and had to wait all day before we could test it (people being at work and all) We were on the brink of rolling back to 2.5.5 just from what we were reading here with peoples experiences to the new patch and honestly after the last few nights testing 2.5.6 and getting abysmal performance (Hosting ~20 players in VR and going from a solid 45fps before to eh 6!) we were not expecting much. But, tonight has been a really good experience nearly all round, hosting I'm back to a very smooth 30fps, still lost 15 frames but its smooth so much better and in a very simple warbird navigation exercise we did I experienced my highest ever fps in VR 60+! It was a very simple mission though, but much better than we were expecting, so thanks ED, The Flying Kiwis are back into multiplayer! I hope this gives hope to others. Edit: A few of the bugs are still there though from an initial look, the main and Static1 text in VR is still present (and I would confidently estimate 80+ % of our player pool of 30+ players is using VR), static objects still defaulting to 'Ammo' and possibly a couple of new bugs with the arming of aircraft. I set the airbase Ras Al Khaimar to only have rockets and every plane that spawned in had all sorts of rocket loadouts going on, some missing, some totally not what was set in the mission editor. Different for everyone. I cant upload a track as its far too big sorry. Not out of the woods yet, but an improvement at least for us.

I got them working with the triggers but not tracking anything, however I saw in your video today Phil they will only track under 2000ft (or meters...) If so that makes sense as to why they were not tracking me, I was only testing and was spawning in too high. I did notice every time I struck them with a Maverick missile the game would lock up, the instant the missile hit. I was only testing though and didn't try any other weapons, but it did do this consistently with Mav's. WIP in seems...

Certainly proved it to me. I have a new system, 32Gig of fast RAM, but I thought I'll help it along with adding a 32Gig page file. All of a sudden abysmal performance! A stuttering mess! Totally unplayable (this was hosting with 16 people connected). I figured today it was constantly accessing the page file when with 32Gig of RAM it was totally unnecessary. I've gone back to the default and it is smooth as again. This is a layman's explanation of what happened....

Glad I found this thread, thought I was on my own with this! I get it specifically at airfields while looking at other aircraft, mostly if there are a few aircraft around, if I look away from them it comes right but look back at the aircraft in front of me and its real bad. After I take off it seems fine, just on the ground. Glad to know its prolly not the headset! Its a very nauseating bug that's for sure.

That's pretty cool! Will make for an interesting navigation exercise for our squad. Cheers

We (TFK) gave it a good run last night with about 18 people joined and it went very well! No one dropped out, server had no issues apart from a couple of times people getting credit for kills when they hadn't even fired a missile. Overall it was a fantastic multiplayer experience. Thanks for getting us back into it so quickly ED!

I'm having a bit of trouble getting the searchlight to work at night, I've tried all the usual combinations I would think would make it work but no joy. It has to be something simple I am missing, anyone know the trick? Thanks for your time.

So we were practicing an upcoming training mission tonight and just for eye candy I added some cows standing around a BBQ, as you do... We pulled up in our Spitfires and Mustangs and all around us were these brown/black lumps on the ground, something I haven't seen before. We came to the conclusion it was cow poo! I think they have added cow poo to the area around the cows! How frickin cool is that! :D If that's true, if I wasn't imagining it I love this sim! :megalol:

For me its fine if test running a mission through the mission editor, but multiplayer is a crash fest, not just for me for everyone on our server, then the server bit the dust after 45mins... This has been consistent since 2.5.6, but I am confident ED will get it sorted pretty quickly.

[CHECKING] TGP not working with LAser guided bombs?
Woody01 replied to SVK_Daniel's topic in Bugs and Problems
I had it slew to vertical down straight after uncageing it, but cage, uncage brought it back to where you would expect it and it worked flawlessly after that. -
Watching the sunset off the coast of Dubai over about 90 mins (started about 40mins before sunset) was just amazing! The way the light changed moment by moment with the reflections off the water then the city lighting the ominous inky black over the landmass, the NVG's, the flares, afterburner effects, being nearly blinded looking at the FLIR when the LGB detonates and the glare on the cockpit glass changing minute by minute was an amazing experience. I think they have done an incredible job, far more than I expected. Oh and the stars!!!
