CPU runs +20° hotter in idle after update to 2.9.16.10523.
silverdevil replied to Dmsea1's topic in Game Performance Bugs
of what the system operating temps should be according to the oem. i was just trying to help with my own evidence. no need to act i am stupid. if you were as smart as you think you are, perhaps you should have fixed everyones' problems by now. or at least realized that not every user is having this issue. take care of yourself idling at the red light. -

i tried a simple bfm in afghanistan. i have Intel 11th Gen Core i9-11900KF and 3090. the cpu never got above 60 C and gpu never got above 75 C. these numbers are within specs. i will try to see if a well populated mission changes anything. -
i did not review your latest crash files. however, yes, the cuda error pertains to nvidia driver. my system does not have any crashing (or ever in fact). i currently am running nvidia 576.02. i see the latest release version is 576.52 (May 19, 2025). maybe that will fix.

@Gunfreak have you tried the renaming the DCS folder within Saved Games to .BAK and then try the sim again? -

i do not see anything different on my system. i was mentioning the heat because there are other reports of higher temps. this means to me that the cpu is getting more work. this is important because cpu does a lot of work in gameplay. don't get me wrong. gpu is also important (especially vram) but i see this is secondary to cpu. -

IMO i think what is happening, especially considering the radio silence from the devs, is intel cpus 13 and 14 gen causes troubles with the p/e core architecture. ED is trying to use more CPU to correct the performance issues, but those changes also elevates the heat. which is normal. higher cpu causes more heat. obviously. users see the added temps on their systems. in my case i have an older cpu before p/e cores. so essentially all p cores. "The Intel Core i9-11900KF has a maximum operating temperature (TJUNCTION) of 100°C. While gaming, temperatures typically range from 80-83°C with an AIO pump at full speed. Idle temperatures are around 48-50°C." 75 C as a point of contention is likely unwarranted. it just means the cpu is running better and it is what we want. -

aye. my fans have always spun up when i run dcs. i have an 11th gen intel i9 and a 3090. my first few experiences since patching has been noticeably snappy too. i have headphones. so i do not even here the fans. by the time i close dcs and take off the headphones, the computer is back to normal. i have no baseline to see whether the temps are more than before. sounds like a hardware issue. maybe or dcs is using more of the cpu than it has in the past. i see it as an improvement. -

Windows 11 . Multiple screens not staying placed
silverdevil replied to SKYWARRIOR's topic in Installation Problems
good to hear you (seem to) have sorted it. you may also try powered hub. i have had experienced USB issues like this. USB power is not very strong and too long of a cable can cause issues. and guids of devices may change moving them around. -
me too. i have changed these settings and see no difference. i also do not have a CPU (11th gen i9) with p/e cores. not sure if there is correlation. the screen shots look okay to me. but yes they seem dim. switching monitors like you did is a good test. are there any settings in the monitor changed? maybe resetting to default may help.

hello. no problem. you new monitor is a GSYNC. i put your log in the analyzer. here are results. hello and welcome. please post your DCS.LOG file found in SavedGames\DCS\LOGS. it may have some clues. also share your monitor make and model.

hello. sounds like the mouse is going to sleep. when you spend 3 minutes in f10, are you using the mouse constantly? when it happens again, post your DCS log. if the mouse is disconnecting, the log may show it.

DCS will not load and freezes when OBS is running
silverdevil replied to Hootman9104's topic in Game Crash
i am assuming OBS is OBS studio. anyway i believe you need to run OBS as admin for it to properly interact. maybe this post would shed some light. -
hello. you realize that you can copy these missions to your own folder and edit them with the newer AC?

hello did you mess around with HOSTS file in the past. i know there were lots of users that did this to get around some coding errors. look in folder "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc" make sure there is nothing uncommented with hash (#). if there is, just comment out the line with hash. my default HOSTS: # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself. # 127.0.0.1 localhost # ::1 localhost
