  1. if nothing on your machine is holding it back? what could it be? a software fps limiter?
  2. that’s two of you. and let’s say there are a 1000 more, no i mean 2000 more. it’s still not enough to make it profitable. it would have to be done as a loss leader to another product.
  3. Planning a new "Gamer" build - requesting feedback sure. except neither of those timeless OS’s are supported anymore
  4. HW/Performance issue related to VR, help needed i’d be worried if project lasso was uninstalled but your operating system process scheduler is still modified to average out all work across all cores. that doesn’t sound good.
  5. stable Vs openbeta my toaster has bugs and makes bad toast. my car has bugs and stops unexpectedly. even my watch loses time. it’s not a DCS specific issue.
  6. beta is also for testing before it’s released to the masses.
  7. Oculus Rift S With DCS World Discussion i get that. i was mostly commenting about users choosing headsets based on speculative forum posts and without any reviews. for example, so many people discounted the Rift until Wags post. everyone can do that they want of course, but i have to say, it’s really interesting to watch.
  8. so interesting that some people make their HMD choices before trying them or reading real reviews. oh well, it’s their money. i guess it’s human nature.
  9. Valve Index - new HMD in May what if has “PPD in the mid 20's” but you don’t have the hardware to to it? is it still a “next gen” device?
  10. no they didn’t, but that is what most of us are thinking.
  11. it all depends on your viewpoint. who’s job? what was the criteria? from a business perspective, i can assure you, a low volume niche market, was not the target.
  12. they could do all that, sure... at a cost. but most wont pay extra for it. so they do it in software. which is way, way cheaper.
  13. Some nice VR Improvement coming! at 50%, i’ll be able to go from 60fps to 90fps. that’s almost unbelievable
  14. Valve Index - new HMD in May that’s the real question isn’t it? everyone’s definition and minimum requirement is different.
  15. Some feedback from a DCS beginner with higher resolution devices you typically need a dead zone. otherwise it’s impossible to hit zero. there is just too much resolution. for example, is the middle (zero) number 32767 or 32768? what should be set in the output? however, high resolution device manufacturers know that, so they often add a dead zone in the device itself, before the position is set on the output pins.
  16. you think dcs coded that up even though it wasn’t used and there wasn’t anywhere to put the data?
  17. the problem is very few users have SLI. and even if all the DCS SLI users repurchased their content to support the development work. it wouldn’t cover a single dev for a few months. i.e. it’s not a good business decision to put money and resources into SLI. the market just isn’t there.
  18. when thinking about why companies do what they do, don’t forget to include cost and market share in your thoughts. it’s rare that a company can’t make the high end products if it wanted to. rather, there is simply more profits and business objectives at the lower end. it will be interesting to see if pimax can sustain their business at the high end.
  19. ASW 2.0 Support? ASW 2.0 is not working. it requires DCS code changes and linking to a new SDK. neither of which has happened.
  20. HP's Reverb VR Pro Headset ^ THIS you can work around FOV issues by turning your head a bit. really easy to do. you can’t fix resolution/clarity no matter what you do. even if when you pray and squint.
  21. one of the reasons vulkan is more performant is no more locking and synchronizing in dx11. but, we sometimes forget that locking and synchronizing still needs to happen... the difference is that the game app gets to do al the work instead of dx11. i would be surprised if we get much more than a 50% bump in FPS over dx11.
  22. Current “best” VR headsets? we don’t know that. we don’t know how much blurring they are doing to get rid of SDE and we don’t know the image quality. twice as clear is a bit of a stretch.
  23. so we’ll wait. i still have 7 years more left in me.
  24. AWS provides a smoother experience when FPS is low, it has nothing to do with increasing or improving FPS
