A sun glint effect would be nice. Where rather than a steady dot, it modulates depending on angle of plane to sun. Something to substitute for the light bloom effect at extreme distances.

[REPORTED]Hornet Lot20 nav lights "glowing orb", still not optimal
SMH replied to sirrah's topic in Bugs and Problems
I was just about to report the opposite. They seem too dim in the day now. (Using a regular display, not VR, though I don't see why they'd be different.) Even right next to the plane you can barely see if they're on. At any distance there's nothing at all. C-130 tanker I was forming on had nice bright lights, by comparison. -

DCS Super Hercules mod by Anubis
SMH replied to Eight Ball's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
That sounds like what happened to a few other flyable mods after recent updates. Is this mod compatible with the 2.5.6.57530 Open Beta? -
[CAN NOT REPRODUCE]Cockpit instrument lights now do nothing in 2.5.6.57264 OB
SMH replied to SMH's topic in Bugs and Problems
OK I see them now but they're very dark. Not sure now if maybe they were there before and I just didn't notice them because I was checking during the day and before recent updates I used to use my instrument lights during daytime to make them a bit more readable. Even at night they're a very dark green now, just barely readable. I'm sure it was easier to see before. Anyway, not as bad as I thought (or maybe the .57530 update improved it). But a little bit more brightness would be nice. -
Translation to something at least resembling English would be nice too. "Last fixes"? (Ever? Promise?) "Uploaded to build?" (Huh?) And there were no ED servers announced on the day this update came out so it was extra confusing. And it doesn't say what happens in offline play anywhere. You guys seem to assume we attend your meetings or something.

I mean in-cockpit. I don't like not seeing my feet on the pedals unless I really need to flip it off to see a side panel or something.

I miss having a pilot model. Would it be possible to just copy the old one into the new model? I feel like a product I used to consider complete and excellent has had a downgrade.
-
Agreed! If you don't want to keep editing the lua file to take it out you can also just grab it by the top and drag it almost off the screen into a bottom corner. A bit of it will still be visible though.

Is there a post somewhere with details about this WW2 damage model test server? Also, does this mean the new damage model is or isn't used in Offline play?

Could someone explain to me why that is? What's the difference between dropping a tank and never having loaded it in the first place?
-
Really? Why? How does, say, the center tank being gone stop us from feeding from a wing tank? The selector valve should shut off the missing tank, no different than if it was still attached. And how is that situation different from if we had only loaded wing tanks in the first place?
-
Doesn't seem to matter which type of tanks you use, dropping the center tank instantly empties the wing tanks.

It does but you have to get to altitude, which I don't think is right. It should show your breaths, not an indication of how much O2 is mixed in It also seems to start slow then get faster with altitude, which is wrong too. It should be showing the rate you breathe, which should normally be about the same (if they wanted to make it increase a bit during high G load that would be realistic -- hopefully the breath sound and the blinker rate match too).

Power to the turbo. And the topic is sound. Wouldn't you hear the exhaust through the waste gates?
-
Yeah, it would be really nice to hear something about this before even more buttons end up breaking the established convention of which button moves the control in which direction.

Very familiar with it. Greg's videos are great!
-
That is visual. That's why the rays are emerging from the back seat.

Is any of this actually modeled? What are the symptoms of main bearing toxicity? And you hardly need an axis for prop. PgUp/PgDown work fine. You're just scaring away potential customers to suggest otherwise.

I thought you said it was going to do exactly that. https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/posts/one-of-the-most-difficult-parts-of-developing-the-f-14-is-developing-your-ai-rio/774159932771627/
