How off? Because it’s a historical sight so it’s showing you a bullets travel time in the past. Also are you flying coordinated? It can’t compensate for slip or skid conditions.
Still need to change in liveries. Until either some full 3d model change, or ED develops a “Decal” system like basically every console race sim has had for a decade.
Either way it needs to be a texture not an animation arg. Like DCS does it now.
Except it also leaves them trapped. I can’t imagine any captan or admiral willingly putting their carrier both in a one way in or out fjord, Or as evidenced in those pictures. Within visual line of sight of ground attack.
I suspect this doctrine was for cool propaganda pictures. Not good carrier protection.
It’s because DCS does them as an “animation” strip tied to the airplane model not an image on the livery. So if the number is slanted that needs a different shaped object on the physical 3D model that is “animated” to a given position.
It doesn’t just semi-bake a decal layer on the texture like one would think you would.
Works for russian bort numbers that are all fixed block fonts. And dull ass airforce sencils. Less so with stylish Navy art.
