  1. Of course you can ask, however people have already asked for that for years , as well as for better AI decision-making.ED announced a new more precise FM for AI called GFM a while ago. However at the speed that things usually get developed, realistically expect to wait another few years before it’s really implemented widely.
  2. At what times are most of your flights / trainings usually taking place? Kind regards, Snappy
  3. You can wait for Enigmas official reply, but I 'm very sure, it is way too modern for the era simulated on the server. It brings capabilities far beyond what was available in the cold war of that time.Yes , Harriers already flew during the cold war's later phases , but they were very different from the variant we have in DCS and no amount of restricting loadouts is going to negate in inherent advantages in avionics tech of that new version.
  4. Why is this moved to wishlist? This is not a wish, this is something announced by ED's own COO. Very convenient to just move this into wishlist ..well done.
  5. Ok thanks for answering. I don't think this is a deliberate ploy by ED to generate more sales for future cold war modules, especially since of all those cold war modules currently in developement right now, only one is possibly done by ED themselves and even that is not confirmed at all. So they'd only get a minor cut indirectly , from the sales of the 3rd party modules that are coming. While I dont necessarily agree with you on the issue of the actual limit imposed on the F-5, I do agree it would be much much better if ED developed a consistent approach to overstress damage and applied that to all modules / i.e. mandated the same from 3rd party developers. Right now it seems there are huge variations in that. I think unfortunately this whole thing is just another sympton of ED being overloaded way beyond their capabilities which results in older modules not getting fixes at all or every once in a while a shoot-from-hip hotfix ,that then requires de-bugging which usually doesnt happen for a long while. Personally I just gave up on ED a while ago, the business model is just bad in the long run and likely not sustainable.
  6. On the latest beta the Viggen's HUD becomes close to invisible in bright weather conditions, even when not flying directly into the sun. Please fix this and increase contrast to the scene behind the projector glass. Examples(with HUD brightness already set on maximum) :
  7. ED, can we kindly get an information update on where you stand with the public bug tracker that Kate Pederenko announced two years ago on hoggit? I'm sure it would be welcomed by the community. Thank you! Regards, Snappy
  8. Thank you for the explanation! Nevertheless I still consider this quite a bug and immersion-breaking. Less details and lower texture resolution (for better performance) would be totally fine for me for the cockpit view , but not large gaps and missing essential structure like wheels and tailboom. Even with „just“ trackIR it’s annoying. kind regards, Snappy
  9. When you use the "cargo view" function to look out of the pilot's or copilot's side window, there are huge errors in the 3D model when you look at your own hull. The main wheels are missing completely, the tailrotor boom is not connected/missing structure and the main engine/rotor connection is missing cowling/external skin. It the same on own sides, the view from the copilot side isn't better. This is quite immersion-breaking , kindly fix this. See attached pic , with problems marked in red:
  10. Yes definitely , at least to me it does look very very slow for that type of loadout. It is painful to watch lol, especially since you insisted on a dry takeoff without AB. No, but seriously , I think for that loadout it takes a really really long time to accelerate even to just around 600kph. Personally I used 1 or 2 zones of AB for takeoff and then cut it out after gear retraction but then I get the same crawling slow acceleration as in your track.
  11. Thanks, but I like to preserve the original colors of the HUD though and would prefer and official solution for this. But thank you !
  12. At sea level ( well 50ft above it ) and 20C ,so not really not much of a environmental challenge. No significant wind either.
  13. Was there any change in the way the HUD is rendered? I noticed that even on highest HUD brightness in certain conditions , against bright clouds the HUD becomes close to invisible. Don't remember it being that way. It looks like this ( thats on maximum HUD brightness setting already )now :
  14. Yes this is something I noticed too. Even with a loadout of only 2x RB24s and two gunpods plus centre tank it struggles to accelerate . Was there anything changed in FM or drag values? (besides the negative drag fix for the RB24/74)
  15. Is there any system in the way the individual CSARs are listed? It's obviously not closest to most distant from player or bearing - Right now the list seems random when you call it up? Also, if it doesn't become too complicated, could you implement a possibility to rescue pilots that are shot down in forests? Right now you sometimes fly dozens of miles distance to a CSAR mission, only to find out that its in a forest and that you can't land nearby and take him aboard , which is a bit annoying. Maybe the downed pilot could be recognized as "boarded" after hovering x amount of time over his position in order to simulate a hoist rescue. Kind regards, Snappy
  16. Which direction would that be?serious question.
  17. No, it only tells you that in reality G-Limits are taken much more seriously than in DCS ,where people routinely happily exceed them heavily and repeatedly.
  18. Public bugtracker as long announced by Kate Perederko. Overhaul of AI, not just the new FM, but their behaviour and decision making progress. More focus on older modules and their bugs. Less marketing hype.
  19. Hi, not sure if this has been reported already, a cursory search didnt show posts about it. The standby attitude indicators lower/earth half (which should be darker than its upper/sky part) loses it's color and the contrast reduces the darker it gets outside. It starts to become noticable shortly before sunset already that the lower half fades out. Pictures of latest OB version showing the issue progressing in increasing time steps towards total darkness . Kind regards, Snappy Edit: Oh and happy new year!

    MiG-27

I think there are considerable differences , apart from a general external similarity. The Mig-27 weighs more at MTOW, has a different engine intake and exhaust , nose cone and less engine thrust .There should be significant differences in flight performance. It will be cool, if it made its way into DCS , but given how things look presently, even the Mig-23 seems still years away.So maybe the 27 in the next decade. regards, Snappy
  21. Hi MYSE, ah interesting, thank you a very much for the info&the picture of the external access panel. Too bad there's no data on the convergence. Would be awesome if some SME Pilot or Armorer still had the data or could talk from experience. Kind regards, Snappy
  22. Hi, I'm reading the AJ 37 del 2 Kap 1 manual in order to get a better understanding, of how the AKAN works in reality . On page 81 of the document (thats page 83 of the PDF) there is a schematic, showing the calculation factors that go into the gunsight. On the lower part of the diagramm is a 3 position switch that seems to determine the distance-constant value for the calculation. Does anyone know where this switch is located on the aircraft? Is it somewhere in the cockpit or under a panel accessible to the ground crew. Side question, since I don't speak swedish and am only very slowly working my way through the original manuals via translating, has anyone found something in the manual about the convergence value for the gunpods, i . e. at which distance the rounds meet, or how many degrees the gunpods are canted inwards? It seems strange that there is a noticable empty bracket between the points where the bullets end , even after quite a distance from being fired. Thanks a lot , kind regards, Snappy.
  23. Glad to hear you are in remission. Wishing you all the best for your future health and return to being well! Kind regards, Snappy
  24. Ah ok got it, thank you very much!
