  1. Currently some lights make the NVGs usable, like the presence of the moon but lights on the ground does not illumnate the ground enough to make the goggles usable. In some areas, the ground is pitch black, even though there's a massive city close by that should illuminate the clouds and the ground around it, at least it should be visible in the NVGs. It seems a bit unrealistic that googgles can't be used when there's an overcast? What you guys think?
  2. Seems like the visible damage model does not correlate with the logical. Bug or not yet implemented!
  3. Since a couple of releases back, NVGs has been broken, meaning that ground textures are completely black. On some map it seem to work and on Syria for instance, it doesn't. Is it something Ugra Media has to fix for the Syria map or does it have to do with 2.7 and Edge?
  4. Quote a lot to be said about it. The majority of players are not ww2, should have started with what people fly most.
  5. Track files? I'd would then have to record every second flight I do. Very often I or my friends find something to remark about, either ai not following orders, not flying in formation or just not obeying the laws of physics (bfm ) (or ai always doing the same right turn or loop in bfm, the other day an enemy f18 was trailing me for 5 minutes, I was flying straight and level just waiting for the ai to engage me, after 5 min cruising the ai took a shot when I was about to land...it's slow to react and just way to easy ) to just randomly ejecting to the atc not responding or just does things plain wrong. The other day I was not allowed to take off despite being the only plane on the airfield. Another day I was inbound and was finally told to check gear before landing, only to be told the last second to abort (ai flight on runway). I also see ai wingman crashing into parked airplanes in bunyaps latest campaign I purchased. The ai never running out of energy or being affected by G is another issue I waited years for. To be honest, this can hardly be any new news for ED, the community have been wanting ai improvements for ages. Even Nick Grey acknowledged the quite glaring issues in what I think was two interviews some 6 to 7 months ago. The problem is that me including countless of people have reported AI issues and AI bugs for several years but we still have in many years ways an ai with the same basic features and faults we had almost a decade ago. I just want you to give us your plans and share insights in what the overall ai roadmap is and how it will improve on in specific areas. I don't want anymore to report individual issues (just check the ai bugs section.. It's massive) I've spend a lot of time and money on this product and me writing here is two fold, one part being me that's very passionated about dcs and wanting it to improve, the other part is me being annoyed because somethings never changes (or they take very long time because they are not prioritized.. This perhaps is not a topic for the news letter discussion, hence my original post in dcs core section but it was moved here. Thanks.
  6. A good tip if you want to drop cbu97 is to use the combined ccip /CCRP mode... Dive in and press and hold the pickle button. Wait until the bomb fall line passes through your flight path marker which will trigger release.

  9. The problem with such a list is it gives false hopes. I've been around since the start of DCS and I've yet to see any improvements to AI. Now the big brass have spoken and apparently AI is on the table. The question is how many more years it will take before we see some changes coming.
  10. As stated in the topic, we were promised some kind of AI improvements in 2021. I'm also referring to Nicks interviews regarding making the AI less incompetent in areas such as BFM, BVR, working better as flight lead and wingman to name a few. We are past the middle of the year and so far we haven't even seen a teaser. Do you have anything for the community to share other than "we are working on it?" Would love to hear some details how the work is going on, what areas you have identified as candidates and what your overall development goals are. AI is one of the most glaring issues outside multicore support. There is nothing to loose by being transparent.
  11. That's interesting. Your are obviously doing something wrong. The ccip pipper in the Viper is super accurate and it's very easy to use once understood. I can snipe what ever I like with it. Including plinking tanks. I'm often 10k feet or higher at around 400 knots or higher. Unless I'm engaging sams ofc. Approach the target, nose offset either left or right. One you have your target roughly a fist above the hand rail, start ejecting, flares roll in to your target, dive at least 25 degrees, line up the pipper with the target and pickle. Come off the target, climb away while releasing flares. Requires some practice but once you get the basics, it's very accurate! The Viper and they F14 is my favorite planes to ccip in. Check Wags CCIP/CCRP tutorial and replicate. As stated above, use zoom to quickly find your target!
  12. It's rather hard to be anywhere calm with dcs and the Viper. I've been waiting to fly it as intended for two years soon..

  14. The ATC is so bad it's no point fixing it. Hoping ED fixes that new atc system instead (this time with a proper ai in charge).
  15. Not sure if the moon was out but flying beneath a full overcast I was able to see. Now in latest build its broken again. Could be the moon.. Not sure. A fix is very much wanted!
  16. I vote for flight model, bits, Mark points and ag radar, cruise and other ded/ mfd pages. On top of that, I want a better damage model. I want to do proper flame out landings and other emergency procedures.. And I want the atc to be competent enough to handle it, like that other sim.

  18. Anyone else notice nvgs are completely broken? It makes night flying a real problem. Any info regarding this ED? Cheers.

  20. Since last patch night vision goggles are broken. Ground is completely black.
