  1. Since last patch night vision is again broken. Ground is completely black. Please fix this as soon as possible please. Makes night flying dangerous and very hard.
  2. Any progress on this task? I know it was acknowledged by Nick Gray during the 2021 roadmap presentation.
  3. So I'm inbound at Nellis and proceeding on my final turn. Tower tells me to check gear and proceed. All of a sudden, the runway is occupied?! and I see an F-15 approaching me head on..just taking off. This is kinda annoying that the ATC is this incompetent. Hopefully the new ATC will be much smarter and actually handle traffic correctly and notify pilots of the correct action at any given time (hopefully it also acts on emergencies)
  4. Hi, I've been flying the Viper since initial release so I'm quite experienced in how it flies in the simulator. However, going between different modules, the VIper feels very sluggish in roll and pitch, and as many other have said, setting a negative roll of around -30 makes the jet feel more nimble. Going over to the Hornet though, the roll rate is a lot quicker and the jet feels much more responsive. One other issue of setting a negative -30 for roll is that Air to air refueling becomes tricky.. How is this intended to work since the majority of people flying it does not have a force sensing stick. The stick I'm flying with is a Virpil T-50 Mongoose and VKB Gladiator MK2 with MCG. No matter the stick, I don't get that direct feeling I get in other jets. Doing quick snap rolls just takes too much stick moment and time. I know that the F-16 FCLS works in combination with the force sensing stick but that does seem to not really translate that well over to regular joysticks and the simulator as such. By design or can it be improved? Will all of this be solved by the updates to the flight model? What are your thoughts on the topic?

  6. My friends and I was flying over the new Marianas map yesterday, all started from cold start. We had issues with datalink contact not being shown on the HSD. All did ofc proper startup and alignment. We restarted the server, did the same and all of a sudden, it worked. We could also not that LIST -> ENT -> (DL) showed no GPS Time. When checking back in the DL menu, GPS time was there from time to time. Not sure if this is related. Don't have any track file.
  7. I don't know what's going on but we are not getting any real updates for the Viper.. That flight model update has been "in the pipe" for over half a year now. The missing DED pages and underlying functionality is no where to be seen, AG Radar, bug fixes etc. are no where to be seen. It seems like they are still struggling with the Hornet, otherwise I believe we would see something happen with the Viper. The lack of communication is also worrying.
  8. I have -25 on roll axis, pitch set to default Without it, it rolls very sluggishly, requiring me to do full deflections to gain the wanted roll speed. Makes air to air refueling tricky though
  9. Please add WARN and LOCK where applicable. Adds to the immersion greatly.
  10. I strongly vote for this, the g-modeling makes flying the Viper at 9g longer than a few seconds impossible due to blackout.
  11. Seems like it's fixed now Was doing bombing runs in the Viper on Syria the other day in pitch darkness with overcast Worked fine!.. Edit moon was out.
  12. Since the update to DCS World 2.7 the water is scary as hell to fly over. There's basically no waves visible, no white peaks, no shadows or anything. Just some small cruises on the surface when you are about to hit it. I liked how it was modeled in 2.5.. Please make the oceans more lively. I have a hard time judging my distance from the water.

  15. Wonderful cockpit, both visuals and logic. Very easy to learn. Great weapons and systems. Just waiting for the flight model updates. It sucks in BFM at the moment.

  17. I really hope the fix the flight model, it flies like a pig, no where agile enough and it feels very draggy. Roll rate it slow, it bleeds speed way to easy, it does not climb very well either. G onset is very slow and low speed handling feels way off.
  18. It thrives in high speed, and if you load it down with too much munitons..it flies like crap. Bring what you need and no more. Engaging a sam site..2 harms and fuel. If it's short, 2 harms and 2 cbu97s. No crazy load out like 10 cbus... Don't land it like a Hornet either..you'll end up in a flaming wreck..Smooth and easy touchdowns..Aerobrake and light controls.

The only two benefits with the Hornet as I see it is landing on the boat and being able to point the nose in a low speed regime which makes it deadly with AIM9Xs but except for that, I can't find anything else. It doesn't matter if the Hornet carries more Amraams..it's to slow to use them effectively. While the Hornet struggles to climb to 25K feet, I'm already at 40K feet supersonic with my Amraam in the air..40 miles out. The Viper is so intuitive to fly, has easy systems to manage, descent range if you just manage your throttle and altitude. Some people try to claim the Hornet is better in AG role.. I fail to see how that's true.. both planes can deliver enough weapons to take out any target effectively. Viper is my choice hands down. Even in it's current non finished state with a faulty flight model.
  20. Great job on the sounds! Only comment I have is that the background noise in low tones kinda makes me think I have the air brakes enabled at all times.. maybe I just need some more time to get used to it. In either way, the Viper sounds awesome.
  21. A lot of hotas commands are yet to be implemented.
  22. I have a bunch of models...everything else just feels wrong these days.. It's very intuitive, fast, can carry a great payload for both AA and AG..Doing sead/dead and lowlevel, awesome. Buy it....but don't fly it like a hornet.
  23. How can I slew the TGP in the Viper to SPI, let's say defined by hud or a maverick? Kinda like how the a10 works.

  25. You can do what you want with this advice but I really urge you to save up for TrackIR5 or one of the cheaper alternatives...once you tried it you'll realize just how good it is.. and there's no going back.
