Looking forward to this! Great initiative Boberro!

I only reiterated what I've read in what I interpreted as official statements in these very forums. I've been reading almost every single post in this forum since the release of Black Shark and I can take pride in not blatantly making stupid posts that does not help the OP of a thread or at least bring forth something to the table. I think I'll leave it at that. I'm also one of the people interested in helping studying this matter. Honestly it feels really strange since there really shouldn't be any difference at all between the versions. I mean, aren't they exact binary duplicates of each other? Maybe the differences have something to do with the regional settings (a comma here, point there... =D )?

I'd love a picture or two describing where this piece of black tape should be placed. I'm not actually thinking about buying one, but interested anyway =)
-
That is totally strange... As far as I've understood of everything I've read on these forums there should be no difference at all?
-
There are none - bar the fact that one comes on a DVD and the other via your internet connection of course =)

I have the same "issue" in Win7 Professional 64bit. When I start for instance an instant action mission where I start mid-air with engines started I can hear engine sounds in the final stages of mission loading and before unpausing the game. This did not occur in Win XP SP3. It's nothing that really bothers me, but still interesting to see that someone else has experienced this.

As far as I can tell from the video he just flies right through both trees and street lights.

Saitek FFB coming 2009? Any one seen this?
Boulund replied to rapid's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
it seems most retailers go for around 3000 SEK right now. According to prisjakt.nu the cheapest place in sweden is a store called multitronic that sells it for 2917kr. Not exactly as cheap as I would have hoped =/ http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?p=476715 -
There is the TeamSpeak Overlay that Smil mentioned, but I'm sure there are others. TSDisp comes to mind but not sure about whether it is any good. Probably not =D

I'm in Win7 Professional (RTM) as well with computer in sig. Works perfectly (even FreeTrack ;))

My opinion of this is that if there isn't going to be lcd-screens inside the frames you might as well stick to the keyboard. I'd say people interested in buying these would most definitely go buy third part lcd-screens and put inside the frames anyway, so cost isn't really an issue. TM could just put "their own" usb-powered lcd display inside the frame and go for the full package instead of selling a half baked product like this. edit: I just saw form the other thread about this that the price isn't very high at all. It's in fact quite cheap. Hmm... maybe I'll revise my statement a bit ;)

I've got this issue as well BS @ 1680x1050 fullscreen specs in sig.

I would like to say otherwise. My personal testing in XP and Win7 64bit show that there is indeed a difference in the efficiency of multicore handling on the two operating systems. My personal opinion on the matter is that on XP, different affinity settings did not improve, nor degrade performance in Black Shark. On Win7 on the other hand, setting affinity to two cores are most definitiely giving a boost to performance. This testing is of course unpublished and not saved anywhere else for any kind of validation =D. You are though correct in your statements about the different direct X versions having no impact on this at all. The game runs a Dx9 engine and as such uses the same libraries on all operating systems, regardless if you're using Dx9, 10 or 11. I'm also of the opinion that this game is completely bottlenecked by CPU since pushing graphics settings over the top changes nothing extraordinary, but overclocking the CPU can majorly benefit performance.

Why not manually trim to neutral? I really don't see the need for using reset trim.

Calibrating Controller issues with CH products
Boulund replied to sobe's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Are you sure you have mapped the controls to the simulation mode and not just to the game mode? Since the game differentiates between the two this is a common mistake. It is a bit hard to read from your post, but are you aware of the the trim system of the helicopter works? There are several posts on this topic throughout the forum and it is also a common cause for trouble in the beginning. -
Awesome! I'd love to know more about this. At first sight it looks very much like something I'd love you use =)

NumEnter (Zoom normal) & Slider controls
Boulund replied to Martillo1's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
The problem with the wobbly slider is an issue with the X52 Pro version as well. I solved the zoom in another way: I programmed small quick clicks of the zoom keys when the slider moves in a direction, with sensitivity adjusted to make it spot on. Works just like if you assign the slider to the zoom axis. -
I'm confused because I always thought that the setting your refer to as "cockpit" (actually Resolution of cockpit displays) only refers to the resolution of the ABRIS and Shkval. In any case no combination of any graphics setting (including res. of cockpit displays) has yet produced crisp textures for my button text labels or the master arm panel (or whatever it's called =)). Obviously I haven't done an exhaustive test of the 6480 different combinations of settings that could possibly influence this, but at least I've tried the 15 combinations I think should make a difference.

Ah that's wonderful. Thank you. Is this information available to me (end-user) somewhere that I just missed or was it a slip in the patch information?
-
I thought the only difference between the 1.0.1 and the 1.0.1a-version is that the latter works regardless of user OS language settings?
-
Hehe. I think that point has been make quite clear. Maybe my attitude towards downgrading to an earlier driver has not. I'm not interested in downgrading. The whole point of this thread was just to find out if there was a solution involving some misconfigured settings or the like. I think we can with great confidence state that it is because of the drivers. =D Peace out Thanks again all. Update: Hmm... I figured wth and went on with a downgrade just to see if it really was because of the drivers. Testing the 185.85, 185.81, 168.18 and the latest 190.62 I see no difference at all concerning this issue with blurring of cockpit textures. I should also not that this testing was carried out on a completely new install on a clean OS (installed yesterday). I think I'll learn to live with it instead of trying to fix it. Maybe it'll fix itself sometime in the future.

A thought about Datalink frequencies in MP games
Boulund replied to nemises's topic in User Created Missions General
I'm joining in and totally agreeing. I've had some great times online and all of the have been when the DL IDs have worked out =) -
Very nice, thanks for posting! This quote in the video is equally interesting "Armour-plated 'Allicopter' boasts twin props and packs a payload". Sorry for my not knowing, but don't you call them rotors on a helicopter... and I'm pretty sure they mean Alligator and not allicopter ;)

Hi everyone again I've just moved on to Windows 7 Professional and while still on the latest nVidia driver I'm still seeing the blurry textures. Just thought I'd give everyone the heads up that it is most probably driver related now, not OS, memory (added 2GB of RAM today), gpu, cpu, heat (cooler at home in my apartment than where I worked this summer). It is most probably just that the latest nVidia driver is giving me these issues. Thanks for everyone's kind attention and help. =)
