  1. I'm assuming that if they get around to fixing the Hornet's helmet they'll apply the changes to the Viper as well, but it'll probably be a while before that happens since there's been no official response on this front.
  2. Check the FCS page and see if the control surfaces are actually pitching the aircraft up otherwise it might be some other issue.
  3. I'd reported this a while back and am pretty sure it had gotten fixed at some point. I guess something got reverted that reintroduced this bug but I may also just be remembering incorrectly. My old post also includes a track which should show the bug, I'm currently away from home so I can't confirm. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=247453
  4. Makes perfect sense to include an option like this at some point, I'd imagine almost nobody here has a hotas with a spring loaded wheel that returns to center like the real Hornet, what the OP is asking for would be a significant quality of life improvement for many.
  5. I know SkateZilla has been working on an AI Super Hornet, perhaps on day it may be integrated to DCS but that all remains to be seen. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=255089
  6. I believe only the Marine Corps F/A-18A++ and C+ have been upgraded with the LCD displays, I think the same ones that are in the Block II Super Hornet and some charlie export variants. It would be cool to have, but doesn't really fit with our regular C model and I'm not sure how much of a difference it would even make.
  7. The download has just been updated with a fix for the issue you describe, the latitude coordinates in the DD version are now correct. Thanks for the heads up on this bug!
  8. Pretty sure it's LITENING, the darker color and the ram air scoop towards the back are absent on the ATFLIR.
  9. I just updated the download on the User Files to incorporate some of the minor changes ED made to the nato.lua file. After some testing the new one seems to be working fine, so try downloading it and see if it fixes your issue, let me know if you still have problems with the new version.
  10. Those liveries are top notch, hopefully ED will increase the file size limit or otherwise have some process by which to submit larger files, as it can be quite annoying having to submit/download multiple things on the user files for larger skin packs.
  11. I guess I'm mistaken then, I thought it had been confirmed in a previous thread on the subject. This image has been floating around for a while, not sure if it's an American Hornet or not though since the warning stencils on foreign jets are often in english too.
  12. It will be coming for the TGP too, it is already possible to place it on the cheek station using a lua edit, all that is left is for ED to model the proper adapter for it.
  13. This pack contains 5 VMFA-251 Thunderbolts skins, 2 CAG and 2 line skins (with editable modex) from 2001 and 2003, plus 1 bonus generic line skin from 1997. The Thunderbolts deployed on the USS America and USS George Washington throughout the 1990s flying above Iraq in support of Operation Southern Watch. The pack contains 1 generic line livery (c. 1997) with the AB tailcode of Carrier Air Wing One during their time aboard the George Washington. Correct modex numbers are in the 200 series. The squadron deployed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt in 2001 and flew missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Included is 1 historically accurate CAG skin (with matching BuNo illuminated inside the cockpit), as well as a generic line skin (c. 2001). They sport the AB tailcode, with modex numbers in the 200 series. In 2003 the Thunderbolts began their deployment to Al Jaber, Kuwait, returning to Iraqi skies during Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of Marine Aircraft Group Eleven. 1 highly detailed CAG livery (with matching BuNo) and another line skin (c. 2003) are also included in the pack. Their tailcode is DW, correct modex's are in the 200 series. The liveries all include custom tan flight suits, patches, and helmets, all line skins feature editable modex numbers. Each of the liveries uses a custom roughmet fix that gets rid of the ugly pylon shadows baked into the default textures. You can download this fix standalone here if you wish to apply it to all your other Hornet textures. Download: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306820/ Note: These skins are cross-linked in order to reduce their size, so make sure you have them all installed in order for each to work properly! Installation: Copy the three different livery folders included in the download into [YOUR DCS INSTALL]/CoreMods/aircraft/FA-18C/Liveries/FA-18C_hornet folder. These skins are available for the US faction in game. Updated on 10/30/19: Improved the weathering and blending of editable modex numbers. Please do not reupload these skins anywhere without permission. Please let me know if you find any errors with the skin or something else that could be improved. Enjoy!
  14. It is already possible in game with a Lua edit, just waiting for it to be properly integrated with the adapter now.
  15. Awesome job putting the video together and even better flying! Even the clouds manage to look good
  16. +1 to OP, the map looks great I just wish there were more reasons to use it than not. Will we eventually be able to view a monochrome version of the map on the left/right DDI?
  17. I believe those are gold-coated canopies which helps reduce the planes RCS.
  18. Very nice, some of the most plausible fictional skins IMO.
  19. I also found the Hornet considerably easier to pick up than the A-10, if you're used to the Warthog already you'll get the hang of it pretty quickly.
  20. +1 to the OP's suggestion, even if we don't have a official template yet livery creators would certainly appreciate a sub forum to start sharing what we've figured out or are working on.
  21. We should also be able to correct these with custom liveries.
  22. Nah but Marine Corps does, according to FAQ our Hornet is supposed to represent both services.
  23. If you're looking for some audio, there's a great website with a ton of Red Flag exercise radio calls. https://www.lazygranch.com/red_audio.htm You can play them using the Sound to Coalition or Radio Transmission triggers.
  24. You've got at least a bit of an imagination right? And it certainly fits better than the JF-17.
  25. I'd personally go with the F-16 since it works better thematically with the cold war era that most DCS maps/modules fit into. Granted I don't have extensive knowledge of the JF-17's service, but it's currently only operated by Pakistan, Myanmar, and Nigera. It's a lot easier to create realistic scenarios for the Viper since it'll be right at home over the Persian Gulf and in the NTTR, as well as the upcoming Syria map.
