  1. +1 always great to be able to train realistically IMO
  2. Yeah, this is what I was asking about earlier in the thread. I think more likely wags may just have misspoke, or perhaps we're getting a different system that is similar to GCAS.
  3. This has been requested in a few different places on the forum, definitely needs to be looked into.
  4. I had recreated this one a while ago, but now needs to be brought up to my current standards. VMFA-312 pack will be released in the future after my Flying Gators project is complete.
  5. I'm a bit confused, so are we getting some kind of terrain collision avoidance system that's different from GCAS?
  6. I agree, with all the systems the two aircraft have in common it seems like ED’s development strategy is really paying off
  7. I believe it's actually used for CAS and allows JTAC's to send target info over datalink.
  8. I also had some trouble getting NWS HI to work smoothly at first, I'd add that it's also very helpful to have rudder pedals as you can ease your nosewheel into the turn rather than going full deflection. By "stuck in a turn" I think bbrz meant the aircraft just stopping, not somehow getting stuck in a constant turn. When I try to do a NWS HI turn, I make sure I'm going only a few knots, ease into the turn (you could also try switching to HI mode after turning a little bit with normal nosewheel control) , and then increase power a bit so that the aircraft is able to make its way through the turn without stopping (getting stuck). Hope this helps, I'm not just trying to pile on to this argument here.
  9. Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the codes you are able to enter on the weapon itself appear in a diagram of the GBU-12 on page 36 of NWP 3-22.5-FA18A/B/C/D, the Hornet Tactical Pocket Manual. Can't post it here of course, but it is readily available online.
  10. Seems to suggest that the data cartridge will be ready in time for the early access release, but I will try not to get my hopes up too much until we get some official clarification.
  11. Do you know if loading HARMS or having the HTS equipped gives you an MFD page with better capability to locate SAM contacts or is targeting somehow done through the RWR?
  12. There's also an auto-trim option in the game settings, I've never tested it out before though. It won't be realistic to the Hornet, but it should be what you're looking for.
  13. Thanks for sharing the video, also cool to note that on top of the upgraded UFC, they have white instead of green symbology for the DDIs like the Super Hornets.

    Hornet team

This is all conjecture. Just because we don't get fancy new weapons and systems added every week does not mean that the module has been "abandoned" as you say.
  15. +1, I'm always down for adding realistic training tools.
  16. I believe this kind of variable model scaling has come up before in discussions about the spotting distance for planes and that ED has tested and decided against using it, but it would certainly be cool in this context.
  17. There seems to be a weird bug with one of the cubemap environments that the modelviewer lets you choose from. The one that is second from the bottom (pictured below) seems to have some strange camera constraints that aren't present with any of the other environments. Rotating the camera below the model, it quickly hits an invisible "floor" and is unable to go any further down, making it very difficult to look at the underside of a model without resorting to flipping the model itself upside down. Please move this thread to a more appropriate section of the forum if one exists, I couldn't find anywhere more relevant to post.
  18. After you enter the coordinates up to the decimal, press enter, type in the decimal and press enter a second time.
  19. If you're looking for an intermediate aircraft, I might recommend the F-5 over the F-86. Since it's more modern it does have more in common with newer jets that you're probably looking to get into in the future, while lacking some of the very complex digital systems. It'll help you get used to stuff like radar, HUD, guided missiles, TACAN, etc without having to read through a massive manual or watch a bunch of videos just to understand basic operations of the jet.
  20. Totally agree, if we manage to get the template before the module is released there will undoubtedly be all kinds of great skins created for us all to use.
  21. The LOST cue isn’t necessarily correct though, so don’t give up entirely if you see it. It is sometimes possible for your missile to still make it to the target despite having LOST.
  22. I think there are a few different elements that update slowly but should be stabilized in between refreshes, datalink contacts on the SA page also come to mind.
  23. Not sure how Wags making tutorial videos for an upcoming module correlates to all the the other developers ceasing their work on the Hornet.

    Harpoon

A mode of the A/G radar for detecting ships at sea, but we’ll most likely be waiting awhile longer as ED hasn’t said all that much about this system yet.
  25. Looks like the roughmet textures are missing for that particular skin, I'd suggest repairing your install and seeing if that corrects the issue.
