  1. Flanker RWR is just as good if you know what you are doing, it also doesnt have to be perfectly 90 degrees if you are slow (sub M0.4). But especially the big Flanker with its large RCS shouldn't be able to do that this easily. MPRF should also make this very hard and also possible to track beaming targets without chaff.
  2. This affects every module in DCS - disable the exhaust heat effect and it'll be gone.
  3. I think it might be the deck crew LOD + shadows loading in. Funnily enough when you bolter and come back around it does not seem to happen a second time.
  4. Some great and to the point input in here. Hopefully ED will figure this out sooner than later - the new API has been in the works for how long now? I really think there has to be a complete radar and chaff rework for this to ever work somewhat properly. In my opinion the original amraam from 2.5 was much better and way more reliable than it is now. And again, the SNR based "low level aiming error" should for one not be random and not nearly as pronounced, let alone the comically small notch gate and lack of any PRF modeling.
  5. Yup, despite the "promises" the missile is way worse than before. The 120C especially should be very hard to notch and have proper HPRF and MPRF phases. The random "low altitude" aiming arror is also not neccessary and only makes things way worse.
  6. I'll do some field landings too and will report back if I can see a difference to pre-pathc (done a TON before the patch).
  7. One thing I noticed yesterday is that with DLC aft (spoilers retract) there is an automatic stabilator shift to counter the pitch moment. However with DLC fwd (spoilers extend) there is none, literally 0 coupled stab shift. Is this correct or a bug? Because it would explain said behavior.
  8. There is an option to tell him to use long range missiles IIRC. However, I haven't been able to make it work either. Sometimes he shoots at long distance, sometimes he just defends or banzais and shoots really close.
  9. No doubt. If the end goal is more accuracy and if the SME's are more happy with it then that is really ideal. And it's not so much re-learning but adapting your muscle memory to the minutia - as someone who basically flew the DCS Tomcat since day 1 and during all FM iterations it is quite noticeable as you expect stuff like DLC, power and flaps etc. to cause a certain effect on the plane - best example I can think of is DLC, where in the past on a field landing you could stay perfectly on speed and just use DLC for the aimpoint and pretty much bring it down like on rails and on the white marks quite easily.
  10. That is weird. No idea honestly, it worked for me.
  11. Yeah, the lighting changed again in a recent update. 2.2 with the release of 2.6 or 2.7 (cant remember) was waay too bright, bloomy and washed out. Now using 2.2 is pretty much fine (on my end at least).
  12. Good to hear. What's the overall ETA on a "final" FM? What is there left to do apart from performance and pitch moment tweaks etc? Having to constantly re-learn and adapt to changes gets old after 2 years.
  13. Launch bar pretty much lined up with the front. Just try differen positions and you'll se.
  14. It works, at least for me. Just get real close to the shuttle.
  15. I am not against a Jester option if that's feasible. If it really bothers you or ruins the "realism" for you then dont pull up said kneeboard page? I just think it would be neat to have, especially for like air starts and once we get the early and IRIAF A's with diffrent abse weights. Just a suggestion my dude.
  16. What do you mean? Did you even read what I wrote?
  17. Yup, performance seems worse. Without any noticeable visual improvement or change this makes no sense. Sounds like a bad build or bad rendering technique somewhere.
  18. Definitely, I find myself having to re-learn a lot of habits - had no problem flying on speed and doing turns in the groove prior to this patch, as well as with DLC. I also found the engine margin between to little and too much power in the groove to be a lot smaller. Once you add a little too much power to catch a sink you basically wont be able to recover even with full DLC and almost going idle I found (and yes, speed brake etc. all out as it should).
  19. Well, at least on field landings DLC is/was used quite liberaly. Doesn't seem to be much of a pitch up or problem with it. And some F-14B stick footage + DLC use.
  20. Yup, especially given the A, B and most likely early and IRIAF A's will have different base weights.
  21. I'd say a few months after the major model rework that's planned + new pilot models. (my guess at least).
  22. On the same note, is DLC fwd (spoilers full extend) supposed to have such a noticeable pitch up moment as well?
  23. Weird, never had this - always spawned normally with the A. Hotstart and cold.
  24. On the cat or on a deck position?
