  1. It was designed for it yes. Doesn't mean it wasn't effective against fighters and later small cruise missiles. You want to just ignore the Iran/Iraq war data? Or the numerous tests with small fighter drones doing 6G+ turns and a split S to then be hit by the Phoenix regardless? Your imagination and perceived reality sure are a mystery my dude. Let alone the fact that even in DCS the Phoenix is less than ideal against competently flown fighters at most ranges where ab AMRAAM wouldn't reach. It think HB did a pretty good job of modeling said limitations of TWS and the AWG9.
  2. Only the D's could theoretically be adapted for them, surely not out B or A. Plus we don't have the 120A in DCS. And let's be honest, once the 54C gets reworked and improved why would you ever take an AMRAAM over it.
  3. I think it's about time the weather gets improved further. There have been little to no changes since release earlier this year. Even simple things like rain, snow and proper fog layers would go a long way. Not to mention dynamic weather and CB's.
  4. Yeah this has been an issue for quite a while now - you even get some light shimmy on takeoff sometimes.
  5. Yes, the IRIAF cat is supposed to have no TCS and fuel tank pylons. However, this particular bird seems to have a TCS or early IRST?
  6. It has now indeed moved back to the 20th. Let's hope this at least means ED doesn't leave any HB files out of the patch like they tend to do. Still no clue as to who or even why at ED "asked" them to move it to the 14th.

  8. There is at least one batch of 3 modex liveries for the 14B (VF-32) and it's probably best to have say a VF-11 or 31 squadron for the A done the same way by HB. Way more realistic given the pilot names below the canopy, BUNO numbers etc. Not a huge fan of dynamic modex on US jets, personally.
  9. It simply doesnt Fox 1 vs Fox 3 is a huge difference.
  10. Yup. How does this apply to the 7M/F and AMRAAM? We do know a bit about the 7F due to Russian espionage and eval. Same with the 120A, potentially B. But again, parameters rather unknown and all on non-maneuvering targets. So saying something has 1/4th of the range withóut considering speed, altitude and parameters just doesn't have any real meaning. As long as a missile hs gone through the CFD treatment, albeit most only do so at 0 AOA, and is on the new API, it's about as accurate and close and it will ever get for a consumer product, which has only unclass and public data.
  11. And you know this how? Especially regarding the AMRAAM. I have gotten kills at30ish nm up high and screaming with the AIM-7 in DCS, gotten killed by one at 50nm while not manuevering (thinking it was out of range) as well. It's just that in DCS people fly low, in thick air and do a hard break turn once engaged. The AMRAAM in DCS can also score hits at 60nm, given proper parameters.
  12. Against the A, sure. Bigger missile, more lift etc.
  13. Agreed, also the 22MLA that will hopefully arrive in this decade. Only thing that's really missing would be a base 27S Flanker which a 3rd party could do.
  14. No one said that. Stores should all have an effect on RCS, but the baseline RCS of large fighters (14, 15, Flankers) should all be way greater than 5-10m^2. This is the most limiting factor when it comes to various radar detection ranges. DCS also only has one fixed value for RCS, frontal aspect and no stores - really the limiting factor here is the engine itself.
  15. Rudder and roll-reversal at high AOA. Also, for BFM/dynamic maneuvering turn off ROLL SAS. I wouldn't really pay much attention to the slip or turn indicator when maneuvering in combat, look outside, listen and look for the buffet cues etc.
  16. You can't really use any other aircraft to prepare for the Typhoon. Best is to read the open-source systems materian and reference the avionics manual that is floating around. From a pure pilots and operating perspective the Typhoon should be a piece of cake to learn.
  17. Honestly, the AIM-7M is fine right now (at least I had decent success with it even in PvP). Maybe the guidence is a bit wonky at times but you can get fairly reliable kills with it given correct parameters. Just don't expect to out BVR Alamo C's or any AMRAAM.
  18. Rear seat in the Mudhen is completely different. You can do everything from the front.
  19. Speaking of, since the Forrestal has 5 wires will appropriate voice lines be added to Jester?
  20. Потомучто надо. Про стабилизатор почитайте. И на самом заходе на посадку надо самолет тримировать штобе можна было "без рук" лететь.
  21. What were the off bore capes of the VTAS?
