That's how it should be. The first variant 73's were 45° lock and 75° track after launch. From the early 2000's the RuAf has received an upgraded variant capable of 60° off bore and 75° tracking after launch. There is no different designation officially, it is still being referred to as the R-73 by both the aircraft avionics and personel. We have the first (early) variant in DCS. A 90° variant is still in early prototype/R&D stages and is not fielded operationally as of today in any airforce.

A B(U) with the PTID, Sparrowhawk and JDAM's could indeed be an interesting idea.

+1 A workaround would be locking the target with PAL.

I've recently been messing around with my binds and came to the conclusion that having two keybinds to cycle through the Jester AI menu (clockwise or anti-clockwise per respective button press) would be super handy. Is it possible to add such binds in the foreseable future?

I noticed they added a "tomcat ball" binding to the keybindings, maybe that'll come sooner or later.

Basically, if I tell Jester to drop the tanks (WVR radar -> drop external fueltanks) he says "can't do that" or "unable".

Don't wanna be asking constantly but any news on the RC2 patch? Namely the much needes fixes to the pilot model, the new sounds and the external PBR overhaul?

Considering ED has been messing with the AMRAAM for over a year now and it's now worse than ever in CCM and has still pretty questionable guidence this is barely a good thing. There is no difinitive state for the amraam it seems. Weren't we supposed to have a new missile API and "improved" amraam by the beginning of this year already?

No one knows really. What the Viggen still awaits are the new sounds, various art fixes to the pilot model and an external model and texture overhaul. Kind of sad that it became a second class cotizen among all the delays with the Tomcat.

No, you wouldnt use the pod for scanning, this is not IRST. The pod can only be slaved to the radar to get better SA and VID.
