  2. Yes, they were smokeless in the past, which was wrong. Then the smoke got flipped with the 9J's. ALL GOOD: :thumbup:

  5. Honestly it's DCS. Anything can kill anything given the right tactics and some luck. The Phoon will be a beat WVR and in BFM if he has visual on you, that is for sure. But in BVR the 54 still has more range technically, can be defeated fairly easily though, same goes for the 120C5.
  6. Can you specify? To clarify, the 74's should be 9L's visually and do smoke and the 24J's should be aim 9J's and smoke even more.

  8. I do hope for a Tranche 1 Block 5 aircraft with HMD and IRIS-T + AMRAAM C for release with a further expansion to the Tranche 2 and up to bring A2G capability. Would make the most sense to me.

  15. Roger. I only had it work on a hot start so far. It should be made ON by default on a cold start.

  17. No, the older Mk47 and 60 are smoky, the C uses a different version of the 47, with a reduced smoke motor by all accounts.
  18. All missiles have some sort of smoke now since 2.5.6 (some less some more) - in reality not all missiles are completely smokeless and also create contrails at higher altitudes. So I'd say this way it is a bit more realistic.
  19. A lor of secondary sub-systems aren't implemented yet. You can't really start up the cat by the NATOPS checklist.
  20. It also seems like they only changed the tail artwork and some patches. All liveries still have the same base with the green-ish nose, while in real life those airframes have the grey nose and some other differences. I guess not a lot of time went into them...

I think two of my biggest complaints about the new update is the addition of this overly bloomy HDR filter (which no one likes by the way and it looks worse than 2.5.5) and the fact that almost all aircraft are as smoky as a Mig-29. Can this please be looked at for the next update? Especially the HDR filter seems like a super cheap copout to just increase visibility at night, instead of tweaking the actual lighting and light sources. It really makes the game look a lot worse more washed out and less relistic in my opinion.
  23. I'm sorry but where do I state I was a programmer? I did some texture and livery work for various other sims in the past and know what's involved. Fixing textures and correcting geometry has nothing to do with the code or bug fixing. Give me a break...
