  1. That's how it works in the real world too
  2. I agree with Lurker. You guys complaining about how there is "no structure" and the water is a "mirror" need to get outside a bit more often. I have spent more than my share of time both on, below, and above the ocean. I can tell you ED did a great job. Do you know how many pilots have died because of disorientation over water? I have photos of my own where you cannot tell the ocean from the sky and the ocean actually looks like the sky.
  3. I did find a Russian youtube video of real life Su25s snaking all over the runway and even into the grass on landing. So i know ED did their research when they built these FC3 birds. I will keep searching for that video
  4. Im away from home right now, but i will definitely upload some MiG29 takeoff and landing videos when i get back. I do not find it difficult at all. It is different to other ships though. So I can see where some might have trouble at first. The more I fly it the better I like it. Btw, I own practically all the modules. I actually prefer the Russian FC3 birds to many of the "hifi" model's
  5. +1 Tobias
  6. Flying DCS is different for different people. The gamers want to spam fox 3's, land repeat (SATAL?) and never die with clean windshields and hot starts in a balanced environment to make it "fair"( everybody gets a trophy). There are others though who actually appreciate the aircraft ,the experience of flying with friends in a realistic environment, and the challenge of completing a difficult mission. I fall into the latter group. Personally I would like to see ANY MiG-29 they can do. There are some MiG-29's in civilian hands. It shouldn't be that hard to get permissions to model things. Weapons systems are always modelled from conjecture anyway. There is a MiG-29UB in the US that could be of help. Paul Allen MiG-29UB
  7. Here is a good article talking about glare https://frankcrebas.com/battling-the-ghost-called-glare/
  8. I think the word "blinded" is a bit much..lol. And the term "baked" doesn't mean the same as it did before the advent of shaders and GLSL. Your car probably doesn't have a bullet proof windshield with a gunsight behind it. So I am discounting that analogy. How about an image or a video of the issue? I can support my claim with many images.
  9. Welcome Vodka! It appears that pilots of Russian birds in DCS are few in general, and the MiG pilots are fewer still.
  10. That's how it works in real life.
  11. The effects I have seen so far are pretty good. I would say you and I are using almost the same system (3800x, 1080ti, 32GB 3200,asus x570, m.2). I have not noticed the drop you talk about. I am running high settings preset
  12. Воздушная Армия, 4 (4th Air Army) is new and just getting started. If you want to fly with pilots who have an appreciation of Russian aircraft, fly in a realistic yet laid back manner, and have some fun doing it, then drop in and check us out. Our emphasis is on flying as a team, realistic cooperative PvE missions, and sharing knowledge of aviation.
  13. Gentlemen, we need to create some kind of an organization, or flying group, or squadron...whatever you want to call it, where those interested in Russian birds can fly together.
  14. The rumors of a MiG-29 in the works makes me happy. But we also need the Su-25 (how about a UB or UTG) and the Su-27 family as well.
  15. It appears to disable the loading of weapons. I'm thinking possible uses are for aerobatic servers and the like.
  16. Excellent video series. Subscribed!
  17. Hey Neurus, the server has a password now. Jump on the Discord to get the password. Also, we use Discord for voice at this time. XPACT..come fly with us. The scenario on the server has bad weather. It makes AG missions really difficult. But the weather will improve on subsequent scenarios.
  18. Does it occur only on certain textures? Maybe it's a texture mapping error.
  19. I am such a newb...lol. I totally overlooked the HUD repeater.
  20. Here is a video of one of my recent MiG-29A hops. I was intending to fly a short air-to-mud mission, then RTB. Things got a little more interesting. If anyone is looking for a place to fly Russian birds, check out the server. Maybe one day I can find a enough MiG-29 flyers to start up a squadron. We fly all the Russian birds pretty much. But I seem to gravitate towards the Fulcrum more often than not. MiG-29A Multi-Role Hop
  21. I love the MiG-29. I think they did a great job with it and all the FC3 birds. Sure they could be updated. And I would love a fully functional cockpit and systems. But I think you (the OP) and others fall prey to marketing terms like "full fidelity" and the like. The MiG-29 is definitely a high fidelity simulation of the Fulcrum, clickable cockpit or not.
