Unfortunately, I can't find any information about that in the whole wide web, so I need to ask: How does IFF work in the Viper generally speaking? How does radar contacts get interrogated by the own ship? (On the radar in RWS and in STT / With and without datalink) I guess we'll have HAFU symbology on the FCR(?) like it is with the Hornet? Are datalink contacts shown on the FCR, HSI, or is there a similar page like the SA page on the bug? What are the HUD symbology for hostile / unknown / friendly? I also heard about AIFF, will our one carry that? Whats the difference? Thx for information.

I would place a bet on "how to interrogate contacts to get a hostile or friendly designation" in the Viper, as this seems not as easy as maybe expected. If he really ment that we'll probably get a "real working" IFF system, I would love that. But I don't believe it.

Just did some research. According 1.16, I'll not post any pics etc. It seems correct that those spots, which StrikeEagle marked, should be the marker for the knobs positions. However, from pictures and descriptions I've found, those marks should be definitely be done with a clearly visible color. Also if it is a worn cockpit, this color spot should be added. HB, I've always defended you in regards of a too worn cockpit, and I like the pit, but that would be too much. Also the manual is lacking of informations regarding the position of the left turn knob. So it was also not that easy to operate it just with clicks. (please also consider that doing "clicks" in VR isn't always that simple, as you not always hit what you are supposed to.) Left turn knob (8 ) Beginning from the left, going clockwise: 1 - 243: Tune to 243.000 (guard frequency. also works if knob 7 is in off position) 2 - MAN: Manual frequency selection 3 - G: Tunes the radio to the guard frequency of the band which was last used. 4 - Preset: Select a preset channel 5 - READ: Display the preset frequency 6 - LOAD: Automaticaly places the displayed frequency into the memory for the selected preset channel (not sure hwo that works) Right turn knob (7) Beginning from the left, going clockwise: 1 - Off: Radio turned off, except 243 is selected on the left knob) 2 - T/R: Turns on radio in transmit / receive. 3 - T/R&G: Turns on radio on transmit / receive and also guard. 4 - DF: Direction Finding mode (ADF) 5 - TEST: Indicated built in Test. -
IFF itself is not really supported by DCS. DCS itself only seperates between coalitions. So I guess that there are no more functions planned, then simple turn it on and off.

Also ich habs gerade versucht, konnte problemlos die Tanks abwerfen und danach noch die Mk82SE ins Ziel bomben. Allerdings: Danach bin ich refueln gegangen. Die Kiste wurde zwar voll, aber ich bekam keine Voll Meldung. Hatte das schon wer? Hätte nen Track, aber der ist mit 12mb zu groß fürs Forum...

Seit dem Release der Tomcat is praktisch nix mehr passiert... Hab eh mal im Tomcat Sub nachgefragt, aber leider keine Antwort bekommen. Etwas enttäuscht bin ich schon im Moment...

Ich kanns leider gerade nicht testen: Nachdem du die Tanks abgeworfen hast, hast du Jester nochmals die Bomben als Ordnance auswählen lassen? Hätte da eine Vermutung dass es daran liegen könnte. PS: Abwerfen tut man die Tanks nur im Notfall.

Die Pattern findet man auch im NAVAIR 01-F14AAP-1, welches auch sehr lesenswert ist.

Nein, wie sollte das auch gehen? Das kannst du nur mit einem Zweiten in MP, oder bei einem Track replay machen.

Ich freue mich auch schon sehr auf die F-16, wobei ich mittlerweile Starten und Landen auf richtigen Runways schon recht langweilig finde xD.

Did you placed in the Mission Editor a landing waypoint on the airport you want to land? In DCS, this is needed to be able to see the synthetic runway. Unfortuantely, Razbam implemented it only in that way, and not in the way it works in the real aircraft. ILS should work without that, jsut dial in the correct frequency and turn it on. -
Da fehlen leider ganz viele wichtige Infos... Am besten das NATOPS suchen und dort den Pattenr ansehen. Verlinkungen / Bilder im Forum sind leider verboten. Chuck hat es in seinem guide ansonsten auch schon mal nicht ganz so schlecht beschrieben: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=247236 Ja, ist hier und da mal vorgekommen. Vorallem mit dem Iron Maiden. Soll angeblich für ganz viel Schande garantiert haben :).

Gelandet wird mit vollen Flaps, ausfahren tut man sie unter 200kts. Google / Youtube doch mal nach Case 1 und sieh dir Banklers Case 1 Trainer an. Oder einfach das Natops der original F-14 googeln, dort sind die Prozeduren auch genau beschrieben.

Na siehst, Problem gefunden und gelöst xD. Lustiges nebenbei: auf das wären wir mit einem Track wsl gar nicht drauf gekommen, da wir die Eingaben auf der Tastatur nicht sehen...

Viggen is fixed, Tomcat ist broken. HB did already fixed it internally, but ED decided to not make an OB update this week. So we'll have to wait for the next OB to fix that issue.

Hätte keinen besonderen Unterschied gemerkt. Eventuell fährst du das Fahrwerk und die Flaps bei viel zu hoher Geschwindigkeit aus? Eigentlich ergeben sich die entsprechenden Geschwindigkeit im Case 1/3 eh von selber, aber zur Sicherheit: Gear down <250kts Flaps down <200kts DLC out - 7 sec. after flaps down

However, you'll reach the point where it is just not enough and you won't deal anymore with modifier. Only downside of the warthog is, that you need pedals. And that the slew is... Sorry, no friendly words for that. But you can deal with it, or mod it. I never regret that I bought the T16000M, and I never regret that I updated it to the Warthog.

Used mine for about 30 hours in DCS before i sold it to buy a Warthog. Can't complain.

If it brakes something else, it aint a fix. Thats why I'm asking for fixes, not workarounds.

No nose strut on no aircraft in the world gets compressed (at least so much that you can see it) when just applying enough thrust to taxi when no brakes are applied. I prefer fixes. Accepting and beeing fine with workarounds which make other things worse is not good. Just makes everything more and more worse.
