  1. lol no, its not implemented you can only dispense chaff and flares at the same time currently. there is zero control over countermeasures.
  2. i have noticed this too and agree. its a button, not a switch, the display cant know it was pressed if the display was unpowered.
  3. no thats wrong. STT is STT. it doesnt matter if you switch to STT from RWS or TWS, its the same thing and in both cases RWR knows about the lock. STT = the radar beam permanently stays on the target. youre probably mistaking it with mere designation of L&S within TWS.
  4. did you press the RWR ON button before your jet gets electricity? there are some items in the cockpit which are bugged and misbehave if you enable them before electricity (another bugged item is radar altimeter for example).
  5. yeah, in The Other Sim, youll for example get SMS STA4 FAIL message in the PFL display and you wont be able to release the weapon. PFL doesnt seem to be implemented (yet?) in DCS. you can also ruin your JSOWs by overspeeding them. would be great to have this in DCS.
  6. ive had much less of this issue with the left MFD, but maybe its a coincidence.
  7. thats literally what im saying. yes, i have to press multiple times to switch to the next page sometimes. please read my post carefully, word by word. by "your defined sequence" i mean the sequence you define via PROG. you misunderstood me.
  8. i suspect there is some trouble when your defined sequence contains the "quick" page like tesw on right mfd. then it requires 2 or 3 presses to move to next page for me.
  9. you hold the handoff button next to rwr display, until the diamond shifts to your desired emitter. not implemented in dcs
  10. it records whenever display has some "big change", for ag radar thats a new sweep or a new patchmap. for displays that dont have "big change" events, like adi, it records every 5 seconds. dont enable the recording (rcd) the point is that you have a screenshot of a display when you want it this is a feature thats been in dcs for many years, such as in mi-8 which records gun camera into png when you press the trigger. but people dont read manuals so they dont know their modules have such features.
  11. real hornet's atflir page in point track has an option to generate designation with target movement prediction (that moves with the target obviously) so even an unguided bomb should land roughly on the moving target if it has constant speed and direction. this is not implemented in dcs though. id like to know if its correct that CDES only designates after the pod stops slewing.
  12. i think you have some severe misconceptions of what image tracking is and how laser-guided bombs are guided. designation has nothing to do with LGB guiding. LGB doesnt know anything about any designations, it only follows laser. laser is fired at the middle of your TGP image, regardless of some designations or image tracking. designation = coordinates for which the ballistic solution is computed by the aircraft. track = the TGP slews itself automatically to stay on target, so you dont have to slew the TGP manually.

    Jamming?

its a bug. the value you see is the minimum value representable by two's complement in 32 bits. some variable overflowed in razbam's code probably. or converted negative infinity float to integer.
  14. another cool SAM: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPYDER also used by israel and georgia allegedly, which makes it relevant to dcs scenarios. though it would require adding also Python-5 or Derby missile, which might be difficult. i suppose if thats too difficult, you could copy aim120c and aim9x flight models and autopilots, just with a new 3d model and weight.
  15. no it depends on the module. for hornet its 1994 https://forum.dcs.world/topic/207530-psa-ins-alignment-solution-for-ob-25531917/#comment-3915166 for strike eagle its 1998.
  16. the worst offender is the standby compass, which is super blurry unless you really zoom into it. i think its a texture LOD issue.
  17. i cant believe this painfully obvious but simple to implement thing is still not implemented 4 years later
  18. this mod is dead, yes? last commit 2 years ago...

    JDAM?

they are connected to the airplane electronically and receive a message with the coordinates (among other things).

    JDAM?

direct mode means you press weapon release button and the jdam will drop, with no assistence on mfds or hud. you will not see any DLZ and the plane will not prevent you from releasing the bomb at the wrong time. you have to guesstimate when to release the jdam because no DLZ. it guides to target designation, source doesnt matter. this already works in DCS.
  21. yes, its completely broken. i tried designation via "3." and later via tgp, both failed this way: cdip too (here selected via autoacq aft) but it happens with other weapons too here is mk84 with chute, designation is on the right side but asl on the left
