  1. if mission scripting breaks the F-16, its still a bug in the F-16. under no circumstances should mission scripting be allowed to break a planes avionics and make it show nonsense symbology. thats error in DCS. i have looked through the mission file and the player's F-16 flight has unusually high IDs (over 100000). maybe the F-16 devs didnt account for this possibility somewhere in the code. i dont know how EDs devs programmed the mapping from internal unit ID to link-16 ID but notice the numbers on DED cannot represent such high values, if the mapping is 1:1.
  2. crimea is the internal 0; 0 coordinate of the caucasus map. the bug is not tied to the compass' position. its just a coincidence that the mission editor places it to 0; 0 in a new mission file.
  3. yes. switch to AG mastermode, be looking outside with JHMCS on, SCS forward to make your helmet SOI. now you should see the a segmented circle-like symbol in the helmet. put it over the target and designate. now the designation will be on the ground. you can also move it around with TDC now. you can refine it on FLIR page like any other designation.
  4. looks correct to me. your first image has 6B*20deg and second image 4B*40deg. what is the problem exactly?
  5. i thought it undesignates L&S. i havent noticed any other effect.
  6. well thank god, it was too annoying to have to use Az/El for this.
  7. this is entertainment software, therefore a videogame. flight simulator is merely a genre, like a first-person shooter. i dont think having a not-too-buggy-to-use MSI is an unreasonable demand.
  8. f-16, unlike f/a-18, doesnt protect you from over-G'ing the plane when its heavily loaded (or the carried munitions). you have to take care of that manually. and if i recall correctly, CAT is AoA-limiter. to answer OP's question: accumulated stress is implemented and your wings will break if push it too far.
  9. it appears to be $150 on their website (though, temporarily, 1e equals $1 now). fslabs is well known as greedy (and to install malware into customers pcs and then threaten to sue them for finding out). but that product used to be top of the class. in msfs, its competition nowadays is the fenix a320 which is nearing fslabs level of detail and surpassing it in some ways - and costs $60. dcs modules arent on the level of depth of neither to justify a 150e pricetag, was my point. $70 on their website right now. not bad. msfs is a much bigger market so it probably allows for lower prices.
  10. uhh, civilian flight sims? 150e would be suicidal. even the hot start challenger 650, which many consider the most detailed sim aircraft ever made (far more detailed than any dcs module), costs $115. and that price was met with quite some backlash. dcs prices are slowly approaching the ceiling.
  11. This is only a forum meme. The actual purpose is this:
  12. ED broke A/A TACAN in the whole game, and the worst part is that they believe its [correct as is] i think it works only with human-controlled planes now.
  13. CCIP should work regardless of INS drift, this is a bug. Under no circumstances should the fall line be horizontal.
  14. its not, the real jet takes into account closure rate for trackfile rank, dcs does not. thats the problem.
  15. there is very severe penalty for look-down situations, on % range decrease per degree below horizon principle. if the radar antenna is pointing below 27 degrees below horizon, the range of your radar is actually zero iirc. yes this isnt realistic but thats how it is.
  16. not sure if same bug, but i once spawned as air start and both engines died right away and couldnt be reignited. and before someone asks, no, it wasnt because my throttle was in off position, my hw isnt capable of that function. i didnt have to restart the game though, just restarting the mission was enough. agreed reminds me of identical issues in xplane addons
  17. why is this marked correct as is? its not correct at all
  18. i dont have track yet, but im regularly getting the bug now - since the last OB only, it was fine before. so this is a regression in the current OB.
  19. uhhhh... it appears its still happening. but its definitely happening much less often because this is the first time i got it in months. this is an F-4 firing a sidewinder
  20. some sparrows can guide without a lock because of HOJ
