MASSIVE fps drop after update to 2.7
rayrayblues replied to flankerjun's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Yeah, I don't think 13 pages and over 315 posts is about nothing. There's gotta' be something wrong. Even guys who have strong machines with 30 series cards are complaining. -
missing info Rocket Counter Not Right
rayrayblues replied to rayrayblues's topic in Bugs and Problems
@NineLine No I don't have any info other than Wikipedia which lists the rocket loadout as 10 HVAR's or 6 Bazooka Tubes. The reset counter binding doesn't reset to 1. It only advances or retards 1 digit and no more. What I usually do (with unlimited ammo) is when I'm empty, I take a quick peek and see where the counter is and then count how many times I have to press the release button to return to 1. It's easier to do on the ground, but I still practice a lot and "Unlimited Ammo" saves me time to be able to reload without landing every time. The P-51 and F-86 have counters that only go to 10, so there's no problem with these planes. They reset to 1 when empty. -

Sometimes it leaks. -
We still don't have fuse delay. You'll need it for skipping otherwise you'll blow yourself up.

All choppers start from the bow. Been that way as far as I can remember. Same for carriers, bow only to start cold or hot. I never knew that you could ever pick a spot. People on the SC forums have been complaining about this since release. You can't pick a spot even for planes. I don't like it either, but I'm just sayin, it is what it is.

MASSIVE fps drop after update to 2.7
rayrayblues replied to flankerjun's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I guess my question then is, why do the frames drop when the event is not on the screen? I would experience this in 2.5.6 also, but it would return to normal a few seconds later. With 2.7.0 it is several minutes to recover. This picture is after all 2 mins after the drop. -
FWIW RightWin+Home to start, RightWin+End to stop.

missing info IDK If This Is A Bug, But It's Weird
rayrayblues posted a topic in New Damage Model Bugs
In the picture below, several buildings were destroyed by a "big formation" of B-17s, but the only thing burning are the roads. BTW, the new bomb craters look really fake; like they were painted on. The old ones were much better. -
MASSIVE fps drop after update to 2.7
rayrayblues replied to flankerjun's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Thanks to my friend @SmirkingGerbil I have settings that give me a steady 50 to 90 FPS depending on the scene. No stuttering or freezing except, I have one mission on The Channel map with a "big formation" of B-17s that drop on the Dunkirk Airfield. When the bombs hit, my Frames fall through the floor. In the picture below, I am at 17,300 feet over Calais which is 26.25 nm from Dunkirk. The picture was taken 2 minutes after the bombs hit and my frames were still down to 7-8 I would expect a big drop like this if I was close to the target zone, but I was so far away that I couldn't see the bombs hit nor could I see the B-17's formation. Is this normal, or do I have to tweak something else? -
I posted about this last year. Rockets Problem - Bugs and Problems - ED Forums (eagle.ru) What sense does it make to have a counter that goes to 24 when you only have 6 or 10 rockets?? When using unlimited ammo for practice sessions, it's a PITA to reset the counter back to 1. The reset binding isn't working properly either. It only advances one digit and that's it. Most helpful, thanks. I couldn't help but notice that there are no entries for The Channel, or Syria, but all of them are the same anyway. -
^This^ When taxiing the 51, hold stick all the way back. Steer with rudder and use differential brakes only for sharp turns. As for landing the "Bolt," I know I'm probably still too high on final, 'cause I usually end up like this.

See my reply on that thread. Overheated oil does not have any impact on the engine. - Bugs and Problems - ED Forums (eagle.ru)

reported Overheated oil does not have any impact on the engine.
rayrayblues replied to saburo_cz's topic in Bugs and Problems
I think there is a bug with the gauge. I saw my temp rising, so I opened the cooler. Nothing happened. The temp continued to rise. I landed, shut down everything and let it sit for 3 hours. When I came back, as soon as I turned on the battery, the gauge went all the way up. It should have cooled down at least partially, but it didn't. -
Good job, however, I could feel you struggling against the weight of the plane. You would have done much better in a Spit or Stang. If you can get the Bolt lined up, the eight .50's are devastating.
-
Really??

The number of times I have cooked the engine on a Jug I can count on 2 fingers. The Mustang, not so good. The Merlin engine needs constant monitoring, especially oil temp. With the Stang, you fly the engine. With the Jug, you fly the plane.

D-30 (early) and D-30 no longer have rockets after 2.7?
rayrayblues replied to Barrett_g's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
With my feeble memory, I seem to recall that we didn't even get rockets until the D 40 was released. -
Nose wobble any time stick is used AT ALL

Are you using a twist grip for rudder? -
P47 vs DCS competitors, IE K4 and D9
rayrayblues replied to Awesomejlee's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
P-47 is not a turn fighter, nor is it very good at dogfighting. It's just too big and heavy. Proper A to A attack is boom and zoom and energy fighting. The P-47 is better suited for A to G attack with bombs and rockets. -
I would think that ships wakes would be more visible than this. There is virtually no white foam until you're right on top of it. Probably related to the new water being too glassy and smooth with no white caps. Too "glassy" and reflective water. - Clouds and Weather - ED Forums (eagle.ru) These ships are rolling along at 26 Knots.

What would be more accurate would be a large billowing cloud of smoke on startup of radial engines. The occasional flame was common in the P-51 with some smoke. Then there's the Griffon.
