Nobody ever experienced this? I was - 2 on this mission and the only out of the ordinary was the heavy "bumping" during startup. Wonder what gets broken in this situation and what can be done to rectify it.

"Jester Options" and then use that kind of Jester wheel to input the coordinates or hop in the back and do it yourself.

Will there be a f-4e terminator (2020) variant?
Lt_Jaeger replied to Mini.Adam's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
In my opinion - hopefully not. DCS has already enough diddle diddle planes, let's stick with the old school stuff. The livery on the other hand - mucho gusto -
I believe the F-15 will become another hangar queen. Seems I only enjoy Airframes roughly my age. Currently the F-14 is my goto ride almost exclusively, with the occasional hop in the Mirage F1. I'm so waiting for the HB Phantom. A dream that will come true. As with the 4090, I'm not sure. Had my finger on the order button for a FE but stepped away from it. I guess I wait a little more, or even for the 4080ti. For the 20xx and 30xx I took the 80ti version due to basically only doing dcs and there were only minor performance penalties while saving a buck or two. I mean, come on, 2000€ in these times. I could afford it, but the current situation made me think of spending that much money on a "toy". That might change tomorrow though. I will just wait for more reports and also think about upgrading to the new AMD generation, which means basically a complete new computer.

I don't see a uplift in FPS in that guys findings, exept for high SS settings. I am not on the hunt for more FPS, but basically want it smnooth during the whole spectrum of gameplay. My setting (3080TI and 5900x) starts to suck in MP and a busy boat for example. In SP I guess I could benifit from smaler farmetimes while FPS is no issue. There is no way arounde a optimization of the DCS core if you ask me

Announcing the F-4 Phantom for DCS World!
Lt_Jaeger replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Is torture, in this case, a legimit method to get the so disired informations? It litally starts to hurt, waiting for the F4 and yes, I'm in an age group where you start to count your expected "rest life" in ever smaller increments. Being on constant high alert for every bit of infomation doesn't help the cause -
Hmm, not very impressed but expected it. DCS just don't get much better with throwing money on it. Was close to get a 4090 but sanity kicked in the right minute. Will wait for AMD and or 4080ti and decide then what to do. Since I'm on a AMD 5900x, I will most probably have to pay a heap of cash to go next Gen. Not sure really if it's worth it, time will tell.

Guess you enabled F10 Menu import. Looks like some commands from a mission or MP Sever. If you don't plan to use them in some way (make a spoken command for one or the other) just disregard. If you want to use them, just do the "finish" step and import them into the keyword list
-
That is OK, since the other commands are in the keywords

Throw out a test mission and let folks do the testing. Keeps the waiting line tidy as well

I don't know what's going on, but there seems to be something seriously wrong with the recovery. I flew the mission, checked in with Marshall and got my Case III info. So far so good, but while commencing there was a serious issue with ACLS and ILS...both weren't there, Tower gave ma a total different FB and subsequently, there was no carrier. I checked in F10 and that thing was on a total different course. I canceled the approach, did set up and checked in again, got totally different Info. By the time I commenced the carrier was, again, on a different course... I have no idea what is going on with that situation These are the marshalling infos (circled is the first try) , both on the same com freq. Writing this it grows on me that I might have to check if VAICOM has anything to do with it, with 2 carriers in such close proximity there might something going on

Jester - voice controlled - a wish to Heatblur
Lt_Jaeger replied to Lt_Jaeger's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
After giving it a thought (thanks god I'm no Dev, I would never fulfill actual needs just dreams ), it might even better if ED goes down that road and offers an API to 3rd Party's, that way basically everything would be tied together. So again, I jumped to short. But knowing HB, they would pimp what they have available above the ordinary (little fanboy here), so I might be right after all. -
Jester - voice controlled - a wish to Heatblur
Lt_Jaeger replied to Lt_Jaeger's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I did not check out your profile yet, because i was happy with what I had with VA VAICOM, but running into limits now, so I will have a look as soon as I'm back on my PC. About the flexibility...I think the main goal would be that it is NOT flexible, it should work for one plane only and be baked in, and would only depict the interaction between the Pilot and the guy in the back. At least that is how I imagine it. For sure there will be always room for VA and additional commands if one want. I love it for example, to fiddel with the gear lever or hook lever, other "pilots" just use ab VA command, which would be fine and should not be restricted. I'm just not seeing a voice operated something made by HB, verbaly exchanging jokes with Jester, totaly different game -
Jester - voice controlled - a wish to Heatblur
Lt_Jaeger replied to Lt_Jaeger's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I know its not trivial, otherwise I would not ask Heatblur for it To be honest, since my programming hay days were in the 80s and I did not care afterwards, I have no idea about how complicated or easy this endevour is. I don't see the ball with ED just yet, there is plain no need for all this single seat aircrafts, but with the F-14 , F-4 and the A-6 I see a hugh benifit in litterally talking with your RIO, WIZZO, NAV whatever he is called, thous my wish (and wet dream) -
I use the Tomcat almost exclusively but I never really used the Jester wheel at all. Right from the beginning it was clear to me that I would love to actually talk to Jester since that would add so much immersion. I basically do everything for immersion, that is the most important part for me. I fly VR or don't at all, if something is wrong with it, I use a seat shaker / Jetseat to bring some life into my "butt meter", I use PointCtrl as a fingertracker, so I actually "touch" the switches in the cockpit. I don't have any keybinds on my HOTAS besides the ones that are in the real thing (with one exception). I did build me a center console and a left side panel (got no room for the right side on my desk) and went thru some length to have the switches and buttons in the position I see them in VR, AND I talk to Jester. Currently I use VoiceAttack with VAICOM AIRIO add on. I think this solution did work reasonably well until now, but it gets kind off wonky, since the VAICOM developer seems to be AWOL and VAICOM (I still hope for the better) will turn out abandon ware. That brings me to the point to ask HEATBLUR if you guys ever thought about going the next step and make Jester, and his brother in the upcoming F-4, voice controlled? You guys went thru so much trouble to bring me the best consumer simulation of an F-14 that was ever made, you will bring me my dream plane (F-4) most probably in a even better recreation (if this is still possible), but even so I fly in in multiplayer outfit, we have rarely enough RIOs to fully men the bird. Now if I could talk to Jester – kind off like I'm used too with VA, VAICOM - but fully integrated into the code and not piggy backed by some smart externals, I think this would gain another level of immersion for your product. I just can ask to give it a thought and hope I'm not alone with this wish.

Giving your Sided Winder Force Feedback 2 Steroids
Lt_Jaeger replied to Whiplash's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you add a 1 Ohm resistor to the already mounted one in parallel, you have a 0.5 Ohm resistance afterward, which would, to my understanding, the goal. -
PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
Lt_Jaeger replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You should have received an email with submitting the order, stating the order date. The queue is determined by your order date. The dates currently delivered can be found in the discord. That said, there is a huge backlog in the delivery (~ 1 year) due to various reasons (one men show, waaaaaay more successful and thus demands on pointctrl ever imagined by Miles, problems to source the necessary parts etc etc). Miles currently being sick doesn't help either. Long story short, there will be a kinda long waiting time, even so Miles is on his heals to cut it down, but rest assured, it is worth it.- 3421 replies

The mode 2 is a canned radio call, you won't hear anything else ever. For sure I would recommend to disengage the Autopilot early on . That system will dampen your steering input and thus make it look very ugly, to say the least. For sure it is kinda easyer to leave em on during decent in attitude mode to make it more stable, but I really try to refrain from it. My scan is still a little too slow to make it pretty (old men in an old bird) but it's getting better every time and that would be the main thing, flying without helper: You get better every time.

It's not dramatic, and more like a feeling than a seeing, hard to explain

I tried the Nvidia thing a while ago and was seeing some subtil improvement. Since then I never checked again if the settings are still in. Yesterday I just enabled the stero stuff, did a run in NTTR, which made me believe that it looked better.

Call me crazy, but I thought as well that the 3D effect is more pronounced after changing to "Stereo"
