  1. TOMCAT Best part of the movie. I had the shivers and a little wet eyes, I admit. All these diddle diddle planes, I don't care for. Today I'm a little sad, coming to realizes that there will be no more movies in the rest of my life span with cool planes in it. The movie marked the end of the time I know, just CGI's and diddle diddle left. Guess I'm now officially in my midlife crisis.
  2. A step closer Bummer that I'm currently not very interested in the Apache, but I will bring this to an end. Maybe then.... Edit: Figured out where I had the brain fart. That tower is like 7 cm to high. Made the correction in the CAD, but being a little reluctant to print it out. I will work from here, complete that stuff and will see if I print the shortened version. The Grips are at the correct height in VR just a little too far apart, but I won't make that tower any smaller because that will give me stability issues. If I got rid of the Grip adjustment stuff, I could make it fit, but hey, it is probably fun to adjust the grip once and leave it that way afterwards
  5. If you got the magnetic charging cable, there is a little plug in the USB port, which you have to remove before you are able to slide out, it's just plug into the USB c(?) port. If you don't have that magnetic thingy, pcb should slide out easily.
  6. Pretty easy 1. Remove the magnetic charging port-if applicable 2.remove the front lid 3.push out the pcb to the front. I push on the buttons. You might have to bend the case a little at first. Since it is a early model (fdm) there is no danger in breaking, if you don't overdo it.
  7. Known bug, announced internally fixed by heatblur. For the time being, just cycle the feed switch after spawn, set it back to normal and everything works as supposed.
  8. Oh, I'm off topic now as well. Let's take a guess. I believe with this kind of behavior you won't get an answer. Personally, I wouldn't even bother to check after reading your nice answer.
  9. Pictures, we want pictures!!!!!! I'm with you in the wait for the F-4 even though the Tomcat keeps me alive in DCS. I believe the next release will be the F-15, which undoubtly will find the way in my hangar, but only to give me a short moment of exitement befor all this diddle diddle and pushbuttons overwhelm me and she gets parked right next to the other electric planes (prius soemone? ) The only thing that worrys me, thinking of the phantom is, I would have to leave my outfit I'm currently flying with, but won't look for another one since my Airforce carrer would be pretty short, hopefully, before I transfer back into a Navy Phantom. On the other hand, I only grew up with land based F-4s so you'll never know.
  10. My 3080ti runs way cooler undervolted. Still in the testing phase, but I like it. Would get Grey hair, if I still had some, about what's called normal thermals these days.
  11. What I like so far, it's not like one Crew vs the whole world. It might be considered too easy by some, but I like that there are, until now, always a whole bunch of players involved and I don't need to be the lonely wolf who needs to rescue the world. Just that sight of the ferry flight was great and just sitting on the wing of the overlord lady and watching the show..... But I bet that this stuff will be too boring for some....
  12. Liked it. Problems: Again a very enjoyable mission. Love the sights and emirate center
  13. Nice. That said, I'm ready, you can release
  14. Will all the formation and tactic stuff work with the strange acting AI we have to work with?
  15. That looks more like a periscope of a submarine than a MFD / TEDAC mount. Hope it will turn out ok, that will be around a 3 - 4 day print The Grip adjustment works.....amazing, considering I really don't know what I'm doing Edit: Reviewing this post, I figured out that I oriented the MFD the wrong way. Like I said, I don't know what I'm doing. Luckily, the printer was only doing the first layer.....
  16. Switched recently from huion to wacom intuos, works fine, just a little to few buttons for the current concept of interaction with Openkneeboard.
  17. I must admit, that is what I like about the campaign. There is stuff going on. Lots of movement on deck, some in the stack, waiting for the launch phase to be completed, traffic left and right, all very immersiv but sadly prone to DCSisms and havoc wreaking AIs
  18. Maybe a DCS thing. A/A TACAN seems to be buged anyhow. Tanker shows up with 22X T/R only.
  19. I had huge problems with Mission 5. I had to start it like 5 times, after the initial try, where everything worked, but I got a CTD (not campaign related), before all aircraft got off the carrier. I know it's an AI thing, but you might think about switching parking between Pontiac 2-1 and 2-2. Starting to taxi, that stupid AI ran into me, subsequently got damaged and RTB right after takeoff. The other times, there was always AI problems, like failed to launch or even on AI landing while launch was still in progress. Big time mess. I don't know if there are ways to rectify some of this by mission design. For the mission, I liked it. It was hard for me to get SA, even so I did put a Waypoint (Def Point) over the Bullseye before launch which helped immensely to figure out who was where and shooting at what, but I'm not sure I engaged the right targets. Very challenging and enjoyable, I will do this mission for sure again.
  20. Just did the Mission 4 a second time, got booted during the first try, and here are my findings. Since it may spoiler something, I hide it. I must say, in the beginning I was very disappointed with this campaign - did tell you about the "computer voice" and it still bugs me, - but I like the mission design so far very well. There is always something going on, a lot to sort kinda who is who stuff and so on. Looking forward to the next mission.
  21. First switches mount. I have no idea how and why they stay in place, since that should not be the case, but they do. Might be magic
  22. I did a quick check, 3 days of printing for one box (including supports bottom down.) Still couldn't figure out how to mount them on my setup, but will work the problem soon. I'm trying currently to convert the obj Files in something I could edit in fusion 260. For the HSD it works quiet well, the VDI is more stubborn.
  23. Yeah, but it needs to be turned off on the settings if one don't want to tangle with that new ED Burble. So if you get sucked into the wires, turn it off.
  24. Had the same problem, you need to register with shapeway and lock into your account then
  25. That is so great and generously. Thank you very much
