  1. At the bare minimum, it would be nice if we could have custom key bind LUAs in our save game folders so we wouldn't have to merge the ones we've made after every update.
  2. Likely it's reflection probes, takes on the current lighting but not real-time raytracing. Much more performant than raytracing at the expense of real-time accuracy.
  3. As an aside, if a switch cover is a separate keybind how do you combine 2 actions with one button press? Can you do combos like that? The Master Arm cover on the ACM panel, that flips up automatically when you arm it, is a single device so it's not actually sending 2 different button presses.
  4. You could try this https://www.avoiderrors.com/rename-devices-device-manager/ EDIT: Actually this probably doesn't do what you want, it renames it in the device manager not in the USB game controller list
  5. Probably overdue for some kind of intervention, here's this is this weekend's project. Going to tackle that TACAN panel next, but probably won't get to it for a bit. Had to make a few custom key binds but all switches are accounted for now.
  6. The VR Crap Cat continues to grow
  7. Did you create a custom set of caps to closer match the one in the plane or just go function over form
  8. Has anyone done anything with the concentric rotary on the TACAN? I was thinking of doing a TACAN panel, but this one seems to be thing keeping me from moving forward on that panel.
  9. what would be nice would be if the stick or throttle axis moved, the virtual hands would snap to the visual in the cockpit, this would make the presentation better for the player. This would also make it less important to have your controls perfectly aligned. Something similar to how No Man's Sky does it. Sent from my Samsung Chromebook Plus using Tapatalk
  10. I like to do the Seine River time trial in the F-14 and the Jetpad adds so much to the experience because of all the hard turning you do to stay over the river. And the sensations move from one side to the other. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you have VR, get it now. Sent from my Samsung Chromebook Plus using Tapatalk
  11. As a former member of the military, you must understand that we use the F word as a comma. Sent from my Samsung Chromebook Plus using Tapatalk
  12. I second this, I've been using this exact mouse for 2 years, i flip it around and use it on my left index finger. The scroll wheel makes all the difference and the large mouse buttons are easy to find in VR Sent from my Samsung Chromebook Plus using Tapatalk

  14. Just a follow up, I was using the USB-c virtuallink port on my 2080ti for my headset, and that appears to be the culprit. I plugged my headset directly into the HDMI on the card and the USB3 on the PC and it works with the latest drivers, but it's crashing a lot. Does anyone else use the virtual link port on their card? 15. In the documentary Tomcat Tales "Snort" talks about how there was a plan to integrate the AIM-120 with the Tomcat, but because the A-6 was phasing out and the Super Hornet was not yet available, there was a rush to fill that role and adding the lantern pod to the Tomcat was his task, and when he presented it to the brass, they asked him how they would pay for this upgrade. He had determined that the Tomcat upgrade to the AIM-120 would cost close to 1 Billion and making the Tomcat a bombing platform would cost about the same. So they scrapped the plan to add the AIM-120, and went with the lantern pod. His rational was the Tomcat had the AIM-54 for years and never got targets to fire it at, so why not fill a needed role and extend the life of the F-14 in the process. I recommend everyone watch this doc, it's very entertaining. I bought it on Amazon. Sent from my Samsung Chromebook Plus using Tapatalk
  16. If you want to see the immediate benefits of running the game in multi cores, just run a headless DCS server on your own system, load up one of the heavier AI missions. Run DCS then connect to your own server in MP it should run a lot better. I do it all the time it makes a big difference. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  17. https://www.etsy.com/listing/784635061/gear-falcon-general-purpose-joystick?ref=shop_home_active_5&frs=1&crt=1 I have 3 of these, they all have different IDs and never get mixed up on reboot, he's also stateside and very responsive to questions. He has a smaller version as well. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  18. You can ask Jester to select stations 2/7, and if you flip the acm cover you can jett the tanks yourself by pressing the button. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  19. I like mine quite a bit. If you're only using it for the Tomcat. You might find it limiting to use with the F-16, F-18 or any other jet that makes use of a large array of buttons. Being able to use the base with Thrustmaster sticks is a bonus. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  20. I use a refrigerator light switch Not elegant, but it works. It's actually signaling a button press until the guard goes up. This is used for my Tomcat ACM panel.
  21. After watching 'Tomcat Tales' it would be cool to put Jester in a mode that he would do altitude, G load and speed call outs for when you're doing aerobatics. And not be such a bitch on low passes. His speed call outs could warn you when you get too close to Mach 1. Silly but fun feature for when you're showing off for the virtual hotties. 22. Latest Nvidia drivers 457.30 messed up the refresh rate on my Odyssey plus. I have a RTX2080ti and I started getting Error 13-14 which means it could not start my WMR at the refresh rate I set, which was 90hz. I could run it in 60hz but the flicker bugged the crap out of me. So I rolled the drivers back to 456.71 and it all works again. If anyone else has issues, give that a try.
  23. In short, yes. I'm working on the left side panel now. I use in VR so it doesn't have to look great. Looks like I need to add some fire suppression buttons on my acm panel. Will probably just do it like pinball bumper buttons
  24. I've noticed the connection cable from the TRudder pedals to the black box is starting to look a little frayed at the connection point, and I wanted to know if anyone knows of this is just a standard CAT 6 network cable? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  25. I don't know what will kill me first, a Mig-29 or my favorite football team.
