I have it and use it with my Warthog base, DLC works fine for me as I was using a hat on the WH stick. It's obviously not robust as the WH stick as it's made of plastic, but it's great to have a 1 to 1 representation of what is in the game. Since the additional axis are treated as buttons, I use the twist function for VR zoom and scope zoom, I haven't ever had any issues of inadvertently twisting it during a gnarly dogfight. As was said above getting the selector switch from off to guns is a bit awkward to get used to. Was wondering if it was this hard on the real stick. I spend more time in the Tomcat than any other plane, so it was worth it to me.

Why did I wait so long? I just got mine from vr optician, what a difference from wearing glasses

I placed my order in Early October and got a notification that it was delivered at work today. The actual shipping from Lithuania to California took only 4 days. I'd say the production run is in full swing

G force physical simulation

I would think you couldn't use any inside out tracking VR headset with a motion base, it would register the motion of the base as you moving your head. You'd need a system that use external trackers and they would have to also be mounted to the base. Has anyone experimented with this? -
It would be great if you used the spot command when locked to a target, Jester would identify the aircraft type locked if within a reasonable range or if identified by AWACs. Especially in VR when it's tough to identify the blurry dot.

And there goes $130...

If you hit the switch when the plane is outside the parameters it just resets like it always does, it's when the auto throttle actually engages that it CTD. Are there any other planes with auto throttle systems?

It's mandatory , we are commanding you to buy it.

Impressive Detailing - Needs Appreciating More.

Even without VR, all players should be able to do a walk around before flight on a "Cold and Dark" setup. It would be kind of cool to see people milling about on carrier decks or land based airfields on the MP servers -
That's the M key to toggle the mirrors btw

This is explains a lot about why Jester can't lock on to the target I can see.
-
The short answer.

I'd like to be able to ask Jester if he can identify the aircraft type currently locked up.

yes, fat fingers win again. I meant a desk LAMP, it really has helped the tracking when looking down. I have a light overhead but it was causing dark shadows under my desk which is what I figured was causing the tracking drift. I have it pointing toward the bottom of the desk and the light fills all the shadows but doesn't shine directly toward the sensors.

After reading a lot about the tracking MR headsets do, I decided to try using a clip mount desk lap upside down under my desk, and it has made a huge difference in tracking when looking down. I used to have an issue whenever I looked at the left or right side consoles of the Tomcat, as the tracking would drift and would snap back after I looked up. Now I haven't had any tracking issues since I added under desk lighting. Thought I would pass this along to anyone who may also be having similar issues.

An option for a new cockpit and a new canopy glass?
LASooner replied to Rabbisaur's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
All the equipment I used in the military was a mish mash of old and new. You'd PMCS it every day, and replace what the manuals deemed replaceable. So some knobs and buttons might look newer or older than others. You could usually tell how old a piece of equipment was by looking at the scuffed edges and how many layers of paint were visible. So I get it, but that said... There are currently some user created texture mods that address some of the VR and readability needs without compromising the general look, unfortunately they fail IC check. What would it take to get these set up as IC compatible custom cockpits? -
So it looks a little like a set prop from a Terry Gilliam movie, but I found the right collection of RAM mount accessories to place it firmly where I need it. Yoke Clamp Long arm Articulated arm and a cell phone holder. Thanks for the suggestion

I went through these step again to verify, still no joy. then I noticed a warning in the log about Extended Command Set unchecked in preferences, After checking it, I now get response from Jester. Missed that step in the AIRIO setup. RTFM wins again.
-
I can talk to everyone but Jester, I can't get AIRIO to respond to anything, I've tried Hotmic, I've called him RIO and JESTER, he does not respond. I can talk to the ground crew, ATC, AWACS, and Refueling. The AIRIO dll is in the correct spot and the license key validated, the added AIRIO commands are in the VA profile. With the Jester Wheel disabled completely I can't do anything I need to with Jester.

I'm just using desk mounts, I have TM MFD's bolted to the top of them. Thanks for the link, I think I can look at something similar to those.

Anybody found a good way to mount this? I'm currently using velco but it moves around too much

It would be nice to be able to set a default aircraft skin overrides for my pilot that I can assign on each aircraft, so you can fly the same paint scheme in every mission without having to edit the mission. And to make it more flexible have an enable default skin override option in the briefing Unless this is already a feature I don't know about.
