    mirrors

That's the M key to toggle the mirrors btw
  2. This is explains a lot about why Jester can't lock on to the target I can see.
  3. I usually select stations 2/7 before launching off the deck, then it's ready whenever I need it.
  4. I'd like to be able to ask Jester if he can identify the aircraft type currently locked up.
  5. yes, fat fingers win again. I meant a desk LAMP, it really has helped the tracking when looking down. I have a light overhead but it was causing dark shadows under my desk which is what I figured was causing the tracking drift. I have it pointing toward the bottom of the desk and the light fills all the shadows but doesn't shine directly toward the sensors.
  6. After reading a lot about the tracking MR headsets do, I decided to try using a clip mount desk lap upside down under my desk, and it has made a huge difference in tracking when looking down. I used to have an issue whenever I looked at the left or right side consoles of the Tomcat, as the tracking would drift and would snap back after I looked up. Now I haven't had any tracking issues since I added under desk lighting. Thought I would pass this along to anyone who may also be having similar issues.
  7. All the equipment I used in the military was a mish mash of old and new. You'd PMCS it every day, and replace what the manuals deemed replaceable. So some knobs and buttons might look newer or older than others. You could usually tell how old a piece of equipment was by looking at the scuffed edges and how many layers of paint were visible. So I get it, but that said... There are currently some user created texture mods that address some of the VR and readability needs without compromising the general look, unfortunately they fail IC check. What would it take to get these set up as IC compatible custom cockpits?
  8. So it looks a little like a set prop from a Terry Gilliam movie, but I found the right collection of RAM mount accessories to place it firmly where I need it. Yoke Clamp Long arm Articulated arm and a cell phone holder. Thanks for the suggestion
  9. I went through these step again to verify, still no joy. then I noticed a warning in the log about Extended Command Set unchecked in preferences, After checking it, I now get response from Jester. Missed that step in the AIRIO setup. RTFM wins again.
  10. I can talk to everyone but Jester, I can't get AIRIO to respond to anything, I've tried Hotmic, I've called him RIO and JESTER, he does not respond. I can talk to the ground crew, ATC, AWACS, and Refueling. The AIRIO dll is in the correct spot and the license key validated, the added AIRIO commands are in the VA profile. With the Jester Wheel disabled completely I can't do anything I need to with Jester.
  11. I'm just using desk mounts, I have TM MFD's bolted to the top of them. Thanks for the link, I think I can look at something similar to those.
  12. Anybody found a good way to mount this? I'm currently using velco but it moves around too much
  13. It would be nice to be able to set a default aircraft skin overrides for my pilot that I can assign on each aircraft, so you can fly the same paint scheme in every mission without having to edit the mission. And to make it more flexible have an enable default skin override option in the briefing Unless this is already a feature I don't know about.

    Mirrors

I noticed that you can't see the eject arm switch change position when you toggle it, in the mirror, but you can see it animate if you turn around and look at it
  15. The O+ has the side benefit of not being owned by facebook
  16. I'd definitely like it if he called out my airspeed in a dogfight
  17. I use the Saitek switch panel, it happens to fit perfectly over the mounting rails used to attach the TMWH throttle to the J-PEIN desk mounts I have. I too fly in VR only, so I use it to control the AFCS settings, cockpit lighting, and currently use the rotary switch for waypoint changes. (haven't really figured out a good use for that). Landing gear knob I use for parking brake, since I use the Saitek throttle quadrant for flaps, gear and hook.
  18. I'd like to be able to position the comms menu, because I use look to click in the cockpit when in VR and the comms menu is a little too high, I'd prefer it be lower, but making it user adjustable to people's liking would be best
  19. I tried this and saw no discernible difference, but at this point it was worth a shot.
  20. cool, I'll have to read that, thanks!
  21. So I happen to catch Top Gun on AMC today and now watching it with a more critical eye noticed that when Maverick is trying to lock up the Mig-28 at the beginning the VDI and the controls under it looked significantly different. He's apparently trying to lock it up with a "Mid Compression Bypass" panel, accuracy aside, is this an early A cockpit? Because I couldn't find pictures of this panel anywhere else. I did find this one which is pretty interesting, this one is a prototype right?
  22. Is it possible you mixed the discussion of VR terrain improvements with the discussion about Pimax users getting some 30% boost messing with Nvidia drivers, that wasn't working for everyone? That's the only thing I can think of that sounds like what you were saying.
  23. The function of the mirrors seems backward in DCS, if I get close to it I should see more of myself, and when I move away I should see more of the surrounding area. it operates the reverse of that
