  1. I'm with Matuchkin. It would be silly to say that the option cannot be given. Thankfully in a sim you do not have to send your aircraft to the factory for refit. Much like we do not have to wait for ages to have our munitions strapped to our chosen jet when re-arming...etc
  2. Ahh right I see. Yeah looking again at my ultra-accurate official source (Wikipedia again ) about the CCIP program would seem like that is correct though I am now curious about the radar due to this part; " Northrop Grumman was awarded a contract in early 2004 to develop an M5+ upgrade kit to update the AN/APG-68(V)5 radars on the Block 40/42/50/52 Falcons to the AN/APG-68(V)9 standard; upgrading of Block 40/42 aircraft began in 2007 and is to become operational on the Block 50/52 aircraft by 2010." So do we have a 2007 block 50/52 with the CCIP upgrade but awaiting the radar upgrade or do we have a 2010 block 50/52 CCIP? Not sure what differences the newer radar system would make in DCS though? Also, with the CCIP program standardizing the blocks, did the old 40/42 blocks become known as 50/52's after the upgrade or were they still referred to by their original block numbers? Also also, it would be good of ED to list it on the modules page exactly what timeframe their modules represent. Just for ease of reference if anything.
  3. Anybody clarify why and since when the block 50 is now strictly a 2007 block 50? My official source (wikipedia) has the block 50 delivered in 1991 so what I am now wondering is what we are missing out on from earlier/later era of the block. Would it be unfeasible to include all the features, is it much like the A10C thunderbolt where we now have a second suite of the same aircraft/block if you like? There must be some viper nerds lurking around here that can fill me in surely. Just curious to know and if it has already been discussed in depth elsewhere please paste me the link Ta
  4. I am gonna assume this has already been reported though I could not find a thread on it. If so please just merge with other threads The clouds in some situations appear hatched on my rig. I am running latest drivers and windows etc. I remember when volumetric clouds first released people had a similar issue though i did not suffer it but with releases since then this problem has become more apparent. *See clouds in distance beyond HUD in image for reference, this is flying the AAR qualification mission for the Hornet from the IA menu EDIT - Not sure if this is related to the "rendering clouds on the horizon" issues which have been touched on by ED already and I am only just beginning to experience them?
  5. Tried a repair but didn't fix the issue for me, disappointing
  6. Well said NL
  7. Wow, you sure like starting arguments over nothing huh. I didn't say it was correct, I said people can still get some fun out of it until it is up to standards. I think you need to chill out and not be so pedantic
  8. Now jump in the Gazelle and do some acrobatics! Easy as pie, crazy little bird
  9. Hello! Recently I was playing a sandbox mission which one of the community members had designed and was having a blast. Then I thought I would fly it again but with different weather, so I went into the ME and messed about a bit, saved the mission and reloaded but when I played again I had to try to remember what the original weather settings were that the designer had used. What I am wondering is, how much time and resources would it take to implement a "Quick weather/time setup" dialog box or similar when you start a mission? How I envision it working is that mission designers and campaign creators can choose to "enable/disable custom weather settings at mission start" and if enabled then a dialog box will show with just what we see in the editor i.e. Clouds, wind, time etc. What then happens is it temporarily, for this run of the mission only, overrides the pre-determined "default weather" as assigned by the mission designer but on next load it has reverted to default with the option to assign different weather again. It probably sounds like a lot of work for no real point but it would add a lot of replay-ability to many of the missions out there and give those new to DCS and the mission editor a very simple way to get more from the sim. It also removes the spoiler effect of entering the ME to change the weather and seeing the enemies plans for the mission... Let me know what you think and if you like the idea then let ED know
  10. As per title, when assigned to button presses the lever moves probably twice as quick as I would like it too making engine management very tricky. Can this be adjusted pretty please?
  11. Recently the Ai taxi seems a bit "dumber" than it was. I remember this was kind of fixed for a while and now has reverted back to "if you're in the way I will plough straight through you" mentality from the Ai. They also taxi IMMEDIATELY after you request clearance and at break neck speed so you really have to rush things and it's just not the quality I would expect from DCS. Anybody else seeing this?
  12. Has this been touched on by @Eagle Dynamics? I can't set temp lower than 9c on this map and no winter/autumn textures The temperature thing has been an issue since launch which seems to have been overlooked though there has been A LOT going on at ED tbf
  13. Hello, Not sure if it has been asked but can we expect updated texturing for the gun pods. The old textures are really letting the module down as the rest is so damn beautiful. Thanks
  14. Thanks, I found the strobe lights etc but couldn't see the spotlight switch. I will try again cheers EDIT: FOund it on the left front panel, Thanks!

  16. Maybe a silly question... I can see the controller for the spotlight/landing light but...how do i turn it on in the first place. I am trying to taxi in the dark rn and it is not going well
  17. Not sure from memory, may check again later. I had 8x MK-82LD and the PCA had 5 options displayed. After setting bomb fusing and qty/dist. I could not select any of the 5 PCA options at all. And due to this I could no enter CCPI mode on the HUD using the weapon system switch. I will get more details and report if it persists. As I am not 100% up to scratch with the mirage it does murky the waters quite a bit if you are trying to remember the old way of doing things and then reading a forum post which doesn't contain step by step instructions on how it now functions. Does that make sense?
  18. Could really use a wee quick start guide to the new weapon/radar employments even if fairly rough drawn because currently I don't know how to do much at all. A load out with MK-82LD bombs does not allow me to select any bombs for instance and I am wondering if i am at fault or if something is broken but no way to tell currently.
  19. Yeah Im not overly fussed, just a niggle really
  20. Well it is telling me 50GB disk space isn't enough. Guess i will have to uninstall terrains and reinstall after. Cracking update by the looks but, and there's always a but Not a fan of this way of updating, it requires way too much disk space in reserve. @Eagle Dynamics
  21. Hey I just thought I would say thanks! very very much! I have been holding off on really thoroughly learning this aircraft as it has been in development but I think now I am ready to dive in head first and really learn it. Such a great piece of work. I hope those involved will be or are going to commit to future full fidelity, pay-ware module development cos you got the skills dudes
