Just had that happen today. Pulled up to avoid negative g but still blew up. Released all 14 snakeyes at 50ms. I guess they are bumping into eachother??
-
One circle fight. Get low and slow (300 knots) and use the hornets high AOA ability to pull you’re nose around on him. Only get one chance since you will be slow
-
It’s negative G. When you release, the drop in weight causes the aircraft to rise, you quickly (snd without paying attention) adjust by pitching down juuuust a little. But moving at 500 knots, a little pitch down causes you to quickly catch the bombs that are only accelerated by gravity It doesn’t take much. I always Release with a slight pitch up

Somewhat off the actual topic, I’ve found that while the flight characteristics of various planes differ when they are clean, those flight characteristics differ greatly between planes that are both loaded. For example, clean, the F-18 will fly around....no surprise the blue angles use it: very agile and responsive. The F-14 clean is a bit “clumsier” but has power to spare and can accelerate snd climb just as well despite being far heavier. Put on 2 bags, 2 mk84s, 2 amraams and a pod On the hornet and it’s a dog. But throw 2 bags, 4 AGM-54s, 2 sparrows and 2 aim-9s....and it hardly pays attention. Meaning the difference in performance between an empty and loaded f-14 is far smaller than an empty vs loaded hornet. My point is that some aircraft have their flight characteristics far more affected than others

Don’t indesignate. Designate the target, launch the bomb. Watch the fireworks. Slew tgp to new target. Designate the target...repeat. Basically just designate a new target without undesignating the old one

Makes no sense that belly rails cannot hold Air-Air missiles

Well, obviously there is a reason Dassault didn’t do it other than: “woah...didn’t think about that!” -
Just ask him to remove chocks right off the bat: before anything. I have the same issue occasionally with the Mig-19

Mig21 and fighter maneuverability in todays terms
Mikeck replied to Dirty Rotten Flieger's topic in MiG-21Bis
The mat was for the surface of amphibious ships. They’ve never cancelled airshows for it. Maybe ST instead of vertical. Point was that it was another arbitrary criticism of the F-35 -
can not reproduce F18 rolling right with no reason
Mikeck replied to slashxer's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Unlikely and I’m sure the answer is no....., but make sure you aren’t carrying the Tpod on the cheek station. That gives you a gentle roll that needs to be trimmed -
Mig21 and fighter maneuverability in todays terms
Mikeck replied to Dirty Rotten Flieger's topic in MiG-21Bis
Funny...because the USAF, Norwegian Royal airforce and Israeli AF have been flying them off runways -and the USMC- off runways and amphibious decks for 2 years without issue. Not to mention I actually saw an F-35B at an airshow last sumMet and distinctly remember the runway NOT busting up. I guess Dozens it nations have purchased so many F-35s that the per-unit cost is lower than a super hornet b/c the F-35 is a POS -
“They don't have enough available information in the public to build a D model. So most unlikely.” I agree....but then came the JF-17 and soon, the Eurofighter Typhoon. Just make it do what the manufacture says it does

I did mean the one on the gunsight but I guess it’s gone with the update. Shame, I loved the look

I just bought the Mig-21 and was learning startup/takeoff yesterday. I’ve seen in videos where there is a white “paper” list of (I presume) radio presets in front of the pilot. But in my cockpit, it’s just black. How do I get that to display? I’ve set presets in the editor and I don’t see a checkbox for it in the Mig-21 specific options. I’m sure it’s in the manual somewhere but I read as I fly and learn.

How about the taxi light? I can’t see any indication it even works. No biggie but since lights are done....thought I’d ask

Well, I’ve had an issue with LGBs where they stop tracking on any map I’ve made in the editor as soon as a patch comes out. I have to remake all my missions on a new map every time (well, if I want to use laser guided bombs). It’s like the bombs don’t see the laser. I know this is JDAM stuff but there are weird things afoot at times

Because DCS is missing EW. No aircraft is going in on a SEAD mission without any type of EW system...whether an EA-18, EA-68 or at least a pod. So you are attacking SAM radars without dominishing their capability at all. Even so, a HARM can take out an SA2, SA3, SA6, SA8 pretty easily. The US, Israel and NATO have all become quite proficient in suppressing SAM systems and routinely do so in Syria. They aren’t magic shoot-down machines....but they do it with systems that DCS simply doesn’t model. Not to mention, a harm fired at a ship in reality takes out its radar IF it hits. In DCs, individual systems like this aren’t modeled

Same issue. Always have had this issue. Only solution is to use dynamic weather. Get different levels of clouds depending on where the low Pressure systems are and how strong. Not to mention MUCH better performance with Dynamic weather...less stuttering

I didn’t want to necro this but damn....I’m still having this issue; especially in TWS. 4 mig 23’s coming in hot at my altitude. I will lock in TWS about 35 miles out. Sure enough, at about 20 miles I lose lock. Pick back up and immediately lose. I get the radar and it’s not that I’m searching to big on an area. I switch to STT and can’t see them. They aren’t notching since I set them to not evade. I can eventually get them in boresight. Makes the F-18 pretty useless in air to air
-
But I don’t wanna. Isn’t that proof enough?
-
Is there a range for DL host selection? I spawned 200 miles from the AWACS and it did not show as host.
-
You posted the same thing about the F-18.
-
It’s only 70km/h. Even if wiki is right...you don’t think things like headwinds, air temperature or fuel quality could provide a 70km/h variation? Hell, I bet there are f-18s that are faster or slower than other F-18s just based on mechanical age
-
And now my son....you know why published top speeds and air show maneuvers demonstrate very little of a plane’s limitations or capability You can see how much drag external weapons creat and how much that drag reduces your top speed. A plane with a published top speed of Mach 2 wont go much above Mach 1 at 10,000 with 6 AAMs and bags. It also shows why an F-35’s top speed of Mach 1.6 is actually pretty damn fast considering it can carry 2aams and 2 GBU 10’s internally...so clean...and still travel close to its max

Seems he’s complaining because the BETA patches for the BETA release of an extremely complex game have given him problems. I agree that ED need to get better at testing the beta patches pre-release so that we can actually test them....but it’s a beta man. Not sure why he doesn’t go back to stable since his problems started with the version after the stable release
