  1. Its the lighting engine. Hopefully once EDGE and the new DX11 gfx pipeline is in the game engine, using ambient occlusion and different atmospheric models, it will get better.
  2. I can't wait to check out AFM in the good old LOMAC jets. Its about time and landings are almost the most fun I used to have in the old flanker 2.5 days. I still sometimes just jump into a Su-25 or Su-25T, quick mission editor placement mission and just land under different atmospheric conditions. Still pretty tricky to pull off properly sometimes. :)
  3. Frankly the models are amazing...but the missing thing is something which was missing even in the current DCS engine.... AI...self awareness...no random infantry...no hustle and bustle in airbases.... no fuel engines moving in to fuel aircraft. The neat things would be when a "player" selects re-arm and refuel...within the 3 min wait..... a fuel truck pulls in..a ground crew moves in to power the aircraft...load new missiles on the aircraft... Also...if we could use the stowed ladder to exit and enter the aircraft... those would be neat things that can really help make a next generation DCS.
  4. Real bird strikes...not invisible birds or a probability.
  5. The real top gear. The US one is meh....can't imagine top gear without hammond, may and jeremy
  6. I am so excited at the possibility of proper realistic landings. lol!
  7. I still am amazed by the detail that went into the Su25 cockpit. Truly hats off to onepride who made the Su25 cockpit. It rivals and in fact probably beats ED's own 6dof cockpit designer. The details in there are just spectacular.
  8. Woohoo...finally....a step towards the abolishment of SFM for lock on era aircraft. Can't wait... :) for both F15 and Su27. :)
  9. Agreed... I think havok, bullet and euphoria would be amazing and resource efficient..just look at GTA 4, RDR and GTA 5.
  10. In the Su25...you can move it physically...which is why they modelled it....in the Su27, the combiner is fixed into the frame...so you can't move it IRL so...I wouldn't hope that they will implement it.
  11. Now that is more like it. Wonderful clouds. Finally...sky looks awesome. Can't wait to see it in engine with lighting. Imagine god rays, proper HDR support and bloom and I think that can usher in DCS WORLD 2.0. :D
  12. The "cartoon" ness is defined in most part by the lighting engine. I think once the new IG is finalized, we should definitely see a better look in the cockpits.
  13. The flaming cliffs series is not arcade. Arcade is Tom Clancy's HAWX, Ace combat, apache air assault etc. This is a "survey sim" level versus a "study sim" for the A-10C. The flight dynamics are calculated in real time with a high degree of accuracy. Only the avionics are "simplified". Anyways...yay... I personally love the FC series. Can't wait for the eagle and flanker. :pilotfly: :pilotfly:
  14. I think its hard to imagine them without it once you see previews of the smoky mess. ;)
  15. thanks for the confirmation. :) I was wondering if I have to redownload and do a complete fresh install.

    GTA 5

I am loving every moment of GTA 5. So much fun. But its disappointing to read that the campaign is short. I spent over 80h in GTA4 main game campaign. Now I am already at 23/69 in GTA 5 and only spent around 18h...thats including all characters and me fooling around here and there..taking chop for a walk, sidequests etc. Rockstar deserve the sales success they are getting for the game. So much minute detail.. ppl giving you the finger if you cut them off on the road... damage to the front end of the car...a handling change to the driving...and you can visually see the wheel well grinding on the tire and feel the sluggishness. yeah... I am delaying Lesters missions for Franklin.. I am only at 60K in franklin's money..I want to get more before starting and then will invest everything at once to get a big income payout.
  17. Quick question... is the smoky engines still WIP and internal only? Because I flew the frog and fulcrum today first time after the 1.2.6 update and I only noticed wingtip vortices for flanker..but not for the frog. Also..I remember seeing updates that the frog and fulcrum engines would be smoky..but right now its still vanilla..no engine smoke or exhaust smoke..whatever u call it.
  18. Its not elitist attitude. Its just frustration on how naive some ppl are when they keep asking for products at sale price even early at release. The fact of game design is these products cost a lot of money to make. Every game at release is 60$. None of those...even on steam, go on sale until after 4-6 months down the road. Even if they do, 70% is overkill. Also considering the sales ED manage with such a niche product, do you honestly think selling a few hundred copies at 19$ is more beneficial than selling a few lesser copies at 50$? Note...I don't have numbers on sales...no one except ED does. But a clear indication is DCS WWII kickstarter. The WWII community is relatively big part of the flight simmers, yet there are only few thousand supporters. Ilya managed just over 100K. If that isn't indication enough on how small our community is, then clearly you are not understanding it properly. So instead of being selfish and asking about sales and blaming me.... just wait for it. If you really can't afford it, I can understand as a student myself...just wait until it goes on sale and then buy it. 50$ is the price on release and I hope in the future, ED keep it there for a good period of time. Remember when DCS A-10C was released? Probably not considering when A-10C was released.... it didn't go on sale until atleast 8 months. Thats more NORMAL. If you are too impatient...figure it out how to balance your budget and then buy it. But don't make it all about yourself and your own income. At the end of the day, games are luxuries...be prepared to pay for it or wait for a sale. As I have said before, Remember about ED..they are an independent developer who have their own employees to pay. There is a difference in say 1000 copies at 50$ a pop versus 1500 copies at 20$. Again...I don't have numbers..but no one does. Unless ED discloses..we never will. Its in their best interests to keep sales reserved only for atleast a few months after release. BTW... being a student, I bought all the products at full price ..one at a time...once a month or so with careful management...and I get technically paid under the poverty line in canada. So don't tell me about "frivolous" spending. I still bought the separate Flaming cliffs modules and the DCS black shark 2 release on steam when it was on sale even though I already have those so that I can give it to a friend or keep it when all modules are on steam and migrate there eventually.
  19. Thanks guys. :)
  20. Hi guys, I don't know if this is due to view file problems or something..but I even tried to repair my installation and still have this problem. Uploaded with ImageShack.com Uploaded with ImageShack.com The HUD is not the correct size and as u can see it goes outside the frame of the combiner. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I used to use Peter's fixed neck view for track ir...but I still did repair as I mentioned...so it should be back to normal. thanks, V
  21. stop complaining/b*tching...if you want more ED products...support them and buy them at full price.
  22. Yes..I agree..it was awesome to get some nice inside info about how the afm is created. ED has always been very reserved with their communication. I can't blame them of course, but looks like this kickstarter has made them a bit more open. Anyways...finally backed the WWII project to support ED...although I don't really care about WWII games. Bring on the Flanker AFM Dima. :p Can't wait to see stuff on those planes...the eagle and flanker. Their battle will be legendary. :D
  23. very nice. :)
  24. I agree...this isn't a wise move by ED. There may be as much as a thousand supporters who would buy modules on day 1...but this would undermine many of these people. The discount is not even a small 5%, its a significant discount. Personally, this would discourage early adopters. ED should make the sales similar to the model used by steam and other publishers. Newly released products don't go on sale atleast until after 6 months.

    GTA 5

I bought GTA 5 on release day (yest) and it is truly a masterpiece. The attention to detail is just amazing. They sure take their time to release new games, but when they do..its pure quality. A really fun experience and I have no regrets buying it for my ps3. When it comes out for PC, I might pick it up once it goes on sale a year later. I am sure my current pc will not be able to handle it maxed out anyways.
