The fact that landings can finally be more realistic than the plane just stuttering and sticking to the ground is more than exciting enough. But seriously, based on current AFM models, I don't know how much ED models the aero of the fuselage. I can assume thrust, systems, lift, drag etc being modelled...but I guess I am most looking forward to seeing how they can model the "new generation" aircraft accurately...considering that their fuselage is a large aero surface on its own. It is this large surface area that allows the plane itself to act as a huge air brake. Not to mention the definition of the center of gravity and the thrust to weight ratio etc etc. Either way...this is the most excited module I am looking forward to...even more than the DCS FA-18. Sorry hornet fans. :p

Proper AO support would really make DCS look cool. Hopefully they can implement it with the EDGE IG.

Well...Mastiff's video shows that they can be dropped correctly. I don't know how to recalculate the systems to consider wind. I know that it works well with A-10C, but even then in heavy wind situations I have had the CBU 97 miss.

lol! I wasn't arguing or disturbed. Clear indication how things on the internet may not come across as u intend to state them. lol! I said it more as a conversational "No!". Because, as the user above said, ED never go half way. When they mean 6dof cockpit, thats the full 3d cockpit...re made from scratch. Also, back when DCS World was released or even FC2 I think, they added a few limiting values to the cockpit movement and you could "sort of" move the view limits, giving that 6dof movement "slightly". Even now, if you mod the limit values...the combiner assembly in this jet alone is 3d. You can notice the solid poly structure compared to the bitmap assembly in the Mig 29 and Su 33 for instance. So yeah...based on all that this will be new cockpit...like the Su25, su27, A-10 etc. Can't wait. Right move indeed. Can't fly jets without the new cockpits anymore. I am spoilt. :p

Nope. Its already fixed for 6dof. They are making a new fully 3d cockpit on par with other aircraft in DCS world. I think its a good move to advertise the graphics people can expect from DCS world in the free aircraft.

I would suggest start with the A-10A flaming cliffs or Su25. They are wonderful....a good start with the AFM and basic simplified cockpit systems and a lot of fun. Once you like it, you will get to appreciate the detail of the A-10C and the systems and flexibility it offers.

YAY for confirmation that Su25T is getting a new cockpit. Can't wait. I am sure they won't make nevada free. There is a lot of investment that needs to be paid for ... they can't give it away for free.

I agree...I think those are some good renders. But based on the latest IG/nevada screens Wags showed a few weeks ago, the lighting model needs some major updating. The new IL-2 game looks terrific and hope ED can find a way to incorporate that kind of lighting into DCS.

Not any steam game...only any steamworks game can be added which uses steam for copy protection. So steam CD keys are available for those games and they can be easily registered. For years I have tried retail CD keys of games released on steam (assassins creed 2) which I could not use on steam.

It may probably be a separate update in the DCS flaming cliffs line. Finally with no promises given to the FC3 crowd, they may be sold as separate aircrafts.

Why a discount? Does Activision offer a discount for COD2 owners when they want to buy COD 3? Does EA offer a discount for FIFA 12 owners to get FIFA 13? ED are being generous enough.

ED has stated that the simpler FC series is the more successful of the two in general. Not everyone wants to click every single button in the cockpit.

Su25 AFM is not arcadeish...There is a stark difference between Su25 and the T versions....one feels like a pig and the other is a lot more nimble and FC series have always represented these fantastically. Of course, it may not have as many systems modelled as the other newer DCS aircraft, but check this out: http://lockon.co.uk/en/flaming_cliffs/?PAGEN_2=3 The physics is modelled pretty well...there is a solid feel to the aircraft with no awkward transitions anywhere. The Su25 as its supposed to be, very very fast and nimble...but the T toad is more like the warthog...slower, but armed to the teeth.

I think it will be 64 bit transition time when the new IG is released.

I am going to buy the pure DCS versions of those aircraft at 20$ a pop too....just to support ED and get rid of the Lock On installation needed for FC3. Unfortunate...I guess ED should have done this in the first place. But hey..I guess all the whiners and complainers will have to complain about something else now. Where's that A2A missile performance whining at? :p

I think its due to be fixed in the next update 1.2.5. So maybe you have to wait. I personally have a disc based copy so sorry ..can't help much.

This one is fantastic Missile fire needs more bloom in DCS. Turn up hDR for them. AFM for dumb bombs/bomblets?
