ALIC Tables for the AGM-88C HARM (.pdf and Kneeboard)
skywalker22 replied to AstonMartinDBS's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
It does on the MFD's HAD page, just not in the number format, but graphically (you see on the map from top view, check the display range scale (10,20,30,60...nm)). The better you do the triangulation on the SAM emitter, the more precice you will see the location of it. -
Hmm, this makes sence, in DCS there are no engine failures simulated, at least not while starting it up, so JFS always start successfully. So to prevent accumulators getting recharged, JFS has to be switched off before engine reaches 12% RPM. Let me do a test... ... after the test, I successfully depleted both accumulators by just switching off the JFS just before engine's RPM reached 12%. It only took 1 cycle to deplete one and the other accumulator respectively (1st Start1 & then Start 2). It took two cylces to deplete both accumulators (Start 2). So this seems to work fine. We would only need a crew cheaf option to refill the accumulators (one day maybe).

Most important, which is not how it is with F-16 currently in DCS: If the F-16 doesn't start on the first two tries (JFS1 then JFS2) or on the first try with JFS2 then the crewchief has to pump the accumulators back up with a stainless steel tool called a T-handle. https://www.f-16.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=200&sid=4f14bdb55b6468f6371168210357ae2e&start=15

Cursor Slewing on AGM 65 Weapon Page
skywalker22 replied to Soundman766's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Exactly the same here. I slowed down quite a bit with the axis tuning, but still the slewing its too fast, very difficult to find what I want. I am also struggling with boresighting, to point the mavs into that specific point. -
The JFS accumulators use a nitrogen precharge to store hydraulic pressure at 3000 psi that is used to spool up the JFS using a hydraulic start motor. When start 2 is selected it uses the stored hydraulic pressure out of both accumulators at the same time to start the JFS and a second start is not available without help from the crew chief on the ground. When the JFS fails to start the crew chief must pump up the bottles back up to the 3000 psi hydraulic charge using a pump built into the plane. https://theaviationgeekclub.com/heres-why-starting-the-engine-on-an-f-16-viper-is-different-from-most-other-jet-aircraft/

The thing is, those two accumulators should in ideal conditions be only good enough for two engine starts. Now there, as I said in my previous post, are countless, realistically for no less then 10 starts. IRL those 2 accumulators can be used for max 2 attempts to spool up the JFS. I also tried what you said, but it's just not working as expected. Still engine can spool up each time I want. I also tried the same on some online server, and it was the same. So to sum up: to spool the JFS from zero rpm to 20-22% of the main turbo fan engine, it takes at least one accumulator, which gets discharged doing so. There will not be possible to spool up the JFS ones again with this accumulator. The 2nd one can be used as well (or in some special conditions, like hot and very humid, both accumulators are required, which DCS is not simulating). So there are max two attempts to spool the JFS. What are we also missing is option to refill these accumulators by the ground chief. So there will not be any issues with starting the JFS and and consequently the main turbo fan engine.

Strange, sometimes the accumulator just doesn't want to deplete at all. Seems like it has infinit pressure, at least trying offline (from mission editor). What do you say to that?

When the Jet Fuel Starter fails to start, the crew chief must pump up the bottles back up to the 3000 psi hydraulic charge using a pump built into the plane. This option is still not available in F8 Ground Crew menu, would be cool to add it.

There are two accumulators inside the F-16 to start Jet Fuel Starter. If putting Jet fuel switch to START 1, it empties both - which is incorrect. Only when switching to START 2, should empty both at the same rate/time.

cannot reproduce Mavericks - VIS mode not ground stabilized
skywalker22 replied to SmoglessPanic's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
To investigate a bit further about using Mavs in VIS mode and a use of JHMCS... TMS UP LONG to put the box on the JHMDS, then TMS UP SHORT you create a SPI for all the sensors, and also for the Maverick it self (which one is selected). With TMS UP Short another symbology appears on the JHMCS (circle with a small square underneath - see the image in my previous post) - which begins to slowly move so one side. My question is: Why it starts to move? Is that a bug? Why would it move, if it's ground stabilized? You can also see that movement on the Maverick's page on the MFD. Example: https://youtu.be/N-mLGHTqt2w?t=193 -
Indeed, I can confirm, OSB 19 does not have any other option then Slave. Same for both AIM-120 (B and C). What you did, you locked that target with FCR, and not with amraam. Check this out (turn off fcr), bore seems to work, just it cannot be selected seperately. It seems its embedded into Slave mode. f-16_aim_120_bore_mode.trk

cannot reproduce Mavericks - VIS mode not ground stabilized
skywalker22 replied to SmoglessPanic's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Bump again. Using Mavs in Visual mode, with a use of JHMCS. I want to ground stabilized the Maverick Missile Line of Sight Symbol, but as you can see, the symbol is slowely moving away. Why is that so? SPI is there ground stabilized, but not the Mav's seaker head. f-16_agm-65_visual_jhmcs_ground_stabilized.trk -
Two wing tanks should be CAT I, but based on @SpecterDC13 words, which bases on RL experience & knowledge, TGP should be CAT III (currently is still CAT I, as I said my last post).
-
No, you said if TGP and/or HTS pods are installed, the plane should be in CAT III, right? Which is not.

Would it possible to finally fix the AWACS voice and text regarding BRA: "Bulls" change to Bullseye and removing "for" between Bearing and Range. Example.

Thats how AI is flying atm with many different planes. -
When can we expect this plane in DCS in EA? At the end of the year, no sooner right?

Did you saved the track?
