  1. thx for the explanation, didn't know the mirror is always there to see through IRL. Makes sense in DCS to get those extra fps (if needed) by freezing it.
  2. M opens the rear view mirror, but how to close it? Pressing M again doesn't work. PS: I noticed that 2nd M key press actually freezes the picture in the mirror, which is very weird, unrealistic, but it doesn't go black (close). One more thing, why there is no switch or a button for the mirror? There is only a keybind.
  3. No. Not yet unfortunatelly. We are trying to make ED and Magnitude to do so.
  4. Great found. Thx a lot.
  5. I also think the opposite, lets go with satellite images. But those images also have to be carefully re-edited before putting into place. Personally I really don't like textures like Caucasus map has, it all repeats too much, and it looks, not bad, but rather odd. And there is simply no comparison with real life terrain. ED, just keep on doing like you did with this map here, this is the future and best possible way.
  6. Of course, I did add the map's name into R_NAV_data.lua file. That's why its so strange. It works on all other maps, but here (didn't try it in SA though).
  7. The map is not interesting to mission creators, since the middle of the map is empty, no airports there. There are at least 15 airports and road bases missing. When they will inlcude them, I'm sure there will also be more servers, but they have to hurry up, else other maps will take over its place.
  8. I still have 10700K and it performs pretty well. No need for any update, not any time soon. I was also thinking of 7800X3D or 13600K (or 14600K), but there is just a little performance gain, simply not worth, based on the money you have to spend for the update (cca 1000€ for all) + new windows system (which I really don't like to do it). I have overclocked my 10700K to 5100MHz, and with a AIO cooler it does an awesome job indeed. I also have Quest PRO VR and all runs smooth on a very high end (in combo with MSI Suprim 4090).
  9. Awesome video of this country:
  10. RSBN is not working at all. ARC didn't try it. I went through the file, and all seems to be fine, but it's not working, at least not for me. I also tried reducing to only few airports, in case if there might have been any code glitch, but still the same, RSBN is not working at all. Really strange. And btw, you should also create a kneeboard, so we can read from it, now I have to look into lua file -- Are your files going to be used in DCS?
  11. I've made RSBN, but it breaks IC in multiplayer, so be aware (don't forget to backup the original file): https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3339195
  12. Caucasus map should be created from scratch, its an amazing landscpare and an awesome well known playground to the majority pilots of DCS. ED should think about it. The current version, despite being a free map, should go with the latest standards of DCS maps.
  13. Would it be possible to add or simply just change the column of "Elapsed time" with "Time remaining"? It would make much more sense, don't you think? Who actually cares how much time has already passed, since you don't have a clue when it acutally end (unless you check the duration of each session info on some Discord channel? This was you can judge if there still is time to connect to the server and to do something or not.
  14. But he was correct about 1st part, that aircraft have to stay very still during the alignment process, even a little movement can interupt it.
  15. Cange main audio out to something different then Default. I know I had same issues with VR, I had to select the exact device for the audio output. And maybe you should also do the same for the Headset and microphone in case if you have one.
  16. How is with the notch with AESA radar regarding doppler notch thing? -- And btw, notching is more like a gamble then 100% success. Its 50:50. I would put it like that, if you really have no where to go, you can try it, but don't count on it, specially against some tough oponents, who know what they are doing. Those are my (more or less bad) experiences. To see what I'm talkin about, I just did a simple example with 2x AI, check the tacview (I should be dead with 1st missile, vulnerability on off). And got pretty decent notch, right? I guess not good enough. Also 2nd missile was more like a luck that missed me. Tacview-20240708-220632-DCS.zip.acmi
  17. Now it makes a perfect sense Thx so much. Here we go bug_village_terrain.miz
  18. If you can answer on my question, it would become pretty clear to me yes.
  19. 1st of all, I think this thread is a bit ambiguous. Are you guys talking about HSD or HAD? In anycase, lets say that the expand modes are ground stabilized. What happenes when it goes out of gimbal limits of HTS (or FCR)? I seriously doubt expend modes are ground stabilized for the FCR, but I am not sure about HTS pod. I would also say the same thing, it still has limited "field of view", I think its 180deg (in DCS only 120) forward looking. So sooner or later it will fall out of gimbal limits. Will then still be ground stabilzed? Doesn't make sence.
  20. I was looking some TV show about the Israel in which there was some talking about a Masada hill, which is right next to the Dead sea, and went looking into Google Maps, and found out how mountainous and rough this terrain really is. Then I went to check how this same terrain looks like in DCS, and was quite disappointed, its almost flat. Which means the mesh is way off as it should be, and its the same all over the map (very unprecise mesh regarding elevartion differences, and textures as well). That I don't talk about the parts whats human made, there are just some random textues, which are also not complete - UVW mapping is badly done! You can see what I mean from the comparision images bellow from approx. the same spot real life vs DCS. Masada is infront on the right side, that rocky mountain with a plateau on top (very famous one actually, because there are some rumours some very famous man died there a long time ago): Same place in DCS (with oil storage facilities??) That's just an example. In general this map looks nice, until you don't know how it actually looks like in real life. 1. It truly needs some fine touch (textures and uvw mapping), 2. To put all over ground objects into appropriate places (objects where they should, and where they shoulnd't be - example are oil storages from pic above), 3. and fix the mesh to some degree it would look more like a real thing (example images above).
  21. I doubt there was any bigger update then this one up to now (lots of aircrafs and at least 3 maps, 1 new, 2 with huge modifictions)
  22. Today or tomorrow, depends when the new DCS update is coming out.
  23. Seems like most of these impatient people have really nothing else to do in life. ED - take your time. It's your game, it's all up to you.
  24. I'm also on GS weekly. And I'm pretty good at it. I hardly get knocked down from these kind of params, only in cases when I'm not careful enough. But I ones got shot down (which is my record) from 52nm away, from roughly same params as yours, but at that moment I didn't think it's possible to shot me down from that far, that's why I was pushing towards him. Now I know its not good to mess up with high an fast flying F-15E. Here is the Tacview replay on youtube. Just my example of being greedy and how to learn it in a hard way
