  1. I am not really sure how to tell the Jester to IFF the contact, but I tried with the control "RADAR > IFF" (which can be found at the botoom of the RADAR group). The funny thing is after I give him that command, what he does, he only sighs, and thats it.
  2. This is the 1st step of the one who works with the radar, to rely on the RWR's info, to point the radar dish towards that azimuth. So even Jester should very much rely on the RWR.
  3. With a DT mode, I actually never missed so far 10/10. Its pretty easy, you just have to make sure to be inside all parameters. Starting at cca 12-13k ft, diving down at 30deg and release as specified in the bomb table (I did 2500-3500ft and all bombs got to the exact point).
  4. I had such an encounter yesterday, doing some AI dogfighting, and while on 40k ft inverted, engines stalled, 5 seconds later Jester came up with an idea of ejecting, and without any further notice he ejected. Plane was fine, I dived down and successfully restarted engines. Would be fine, if Jester waits a bit with moves like that, it was completely unnecessary, at least not in that moment, we were fine, and plane was fine. PS: will try to reproduce it later on today.
  5. Anyone knows the answers?
  6. What in case if you don't want to refound at all? In the worst case scenario, will the F-15E still be used on the servers, so I can fly it offline and online? And btw, if you get a refound, will you keep the module on your HDD, will still be flyable?
  7. Is Jester relying on RWR, it should give him a relative direction where to look for? And if he changes elevation of search by him self? Before the update he was doing not-so-good job at finding bandits. Didn't try "BVR" yet since update. But its looks even worse, based on this thread. Will try later on and report accordingly.
  8. I don't care at all who does anytihng actually. All I want is that modules and maps work!
  9. I have a question about Kneeboard, I put them into "...Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\F-4E" folder (which I created manually), but I'm unable to see them. Is there any other folder intended for kneeboards?
  10. Contention | PVP | Syria | 80s Amazing server with lots of fun and lots of people as well in all kinds of fighter jets.
  11. Is it really? Amazing, although there was no mention of it in the patch notes. That's a good sign if nothing else, to settle the scores, I hope.
  12. The last patch for Mirage 2000 was on 22th of February, so this bug must have been here since then or before that.
  13. Thats some complicated system and a bit with no sence (moving CCA zones and switching weapons at the same time). Doubt it was designed that way IRL, it just doesn't make any sence.
  14. Do you know what might be the reasons for ALR-46 not detecting transition from search to track of the airborne radars? Maybe @Zabuzard and @JNelson can help us out here to determine how ALR-46 was working exactly for the airborne radars.
  15. Recognizing Search vs. Track Mode: The AN/ALR-46 can distinguish between radar in search mode and track mode based on the following factors: Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF): Search radars typically use lower PRF with longer pulse durations to cover a wide area and detect multiple targets at various ranges. Track radars use higher PRF with shorter pulse durations to provide more accurate and continuous tracking of a specific target. Signal Strength and Duration: Search radar signals may be detected intermittently as the radar scans across different sectors. Track radar signals are more continuous and focused on a specific target, providing a consistent signal strength and direction. Frequency and Modulation: Some radars may change frequencies or modulation schemes when switching from search to track mode. The RWR can analyze these changes to help identify the radar's operational mode. -- Ground-Based Radars (SAMs): The AN/ALR-46 could reliably detect the switch from search to track mode for ground-based radar systems like those used in SAMs. These ground-based radars had distinct and recognizable changes in their signal characteristics (e.g., PRF, pulse width) when switching from search to track mode, which the AN/ALR-46 was designed to identify. Airborne Radars (Contemporary Aircraft like MiG-19 and MiG-21): The AN/ALR-46 could detect radar emissions from these aircraft, but it was less reliable at specifically identifying the switch from search to track mode. The radars on these aircraft did exhibit changes when switching modes, but these changes were often subtler and less pronounced than those of ground-based systems. There was no consistent and reliable warning from the AN/ALR-46 specifically indicating a switch from search to track mode for airborne radars. The system might detect the presence of the radar and provide general warnings, but it did not consistently distinguish between search and track modes for airborne threats. Summary: For ground-based radars (like SAMs): The AN/ALR-46 could reliably detect and warn about the switch from search to track mode. For airborne radars (like those on MiG-19 and MiG-21): The AN/ALR-46 could detect radar emissions, but it was not reliably able to detect and warn about the specific switch from search to track mode. The warnings provided were more general regarding the presence of radar emissions rather than specific mode changes.
  16. Actually I don't see my custom kneeboards which I put into "...\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\F-4E" folder. I put all my kneeboards into this location. Anyone has idea why I can't see them?
  17. What ever you delete as stock, it will be reinstalled with every update or repair of the game. So no need to do that. Although I also don't like having so many kneeboards, that it takes minutes to go through. Would be cool if use could pick those ones that he wants/needs.
  18. Two of them are in the middle of the map: - Queen Tamar Airport - Ambrolauri Airport
  19. Seems that none of the seekers work for STR SA-6 radar. Tried all of them, and both Mk-49 seekers got a high pitch tone, but do not attempt to follow to the source of SA-6.
  20. Sorry, but you didn't answer to my question directly, will there be any indication on the RWR when the airborne radar is in track mode (or we can say lock)? Because now it is not. There is no indication when a Sparrow starts flying towards you.
  21. With trimming its always a pain to make the plane fly straight. Try to use Autopilot, thats what I do. I mapped these 2 functions (AFCS and ALT) which I need to a joystick. Thats why is there afterall.
  22. In that regard would be cool to have some kneeboard, on which would be visible which seekers are on each stations (specially in case if you cary 4 different ones). That kneeboard would have to be geneated automatically.
  23. If you specificly and consciously select outter pylons, then you will only drop whats on those 2 pylons, and nothing else. And btw, on weapon selector "C" does not mean "off", but in current emplementation of F-4E is not in use.
  24. No need to put weapon selector to C. As a matter of fact, weapon selector can be on any position, it doesn't matter. What matters is station selector on Stores, arming pylons you want to drop (in our case Left and Right outer pylons, so LO and RO) and press Push to jet button. Thats it!
  25. So is it indeed true that the RWR AN/ALR-46 can't detect the airbrne radar in track mode? I find it very strange, that it cannot distinguish between search and track mode. And why is there anyothe button "Activity Power", in the manual it says it has similar functions to Missile Launch button, but nothing more. So we have two "warning buttons" for SAM launch? Which at least means RWR can detect ground radars (like SAMs) in search and track mode.
