One more vote for the G2. It provides a clear image, high resolution and is very comfortable. For flight simming (and simracing) it is just perfect, for other games the controller tracking may be a bit limited due to the inside out tracking, but still ok. This beeing said, i've played HL: Alyx with only very few tracking failures and overall it was a very nice gaming experience, so it is absolutely ok for other VR games as well. And even if you don't like the controller tracking, there is a tweak to use the Valve Index controllers with the G2 (if you're willing to pay another 500 bucks for better tracking). Also the Quest 2 is bound to that spyware called Facebook, wich is an absolute no-go imho. Cheers

+1 for the Delta model. This could also be handled as an upgrade for the Charlie Hornet module and not neccessarily be a separate module. Just add WSO cockpit and multicrew coding and offer this for a reasonable price, i'm sure a lot of people would upgrade their existing Hornet module to get that extra fun multicrew comes with. I definately would. Also a good alternative to the questionable F-15E from RAZBAM, as i'm afraid we won't see this baby coming out of EA prior to 2030... if ever

While i have played Falcon since 4.0 was released and realy love it, i have to disagree. This is just a different flight model and different external model built around the F-16 avionics. No real Hornet avionics in BMS, unless this has changed since 4.33...

I'm upgrading my hardware as soon as it is necessary. This beeing said, i don't need maximum graphics and i'm fine with sacrificing some eye candy for decent FPS. I always skip one GPU generation, sometimes even two. I'm running a LGA 2011-3 6800K wich i purchased in early 2016 together with a 1080Ti and 16GB RAM (3000 MHz]. Had it running at stock 3,4GHz for years and was pretty happy with it. Upgraded to 32GB RAM in 2018, then overclocked it in October 2020, installed a M.2 SSD and again upgraded to 64GB RAM at the same time. Switched to a 3090 a few weeks ago and i'm now running the CPU with 1,169 core voltage @ 4,2 GHz (all cores - air cooled) and DCS is at ~60FPS with my Reverb G2. Sure my CPU is clearly the bottleneck, but my current FPS allow for a smooth gameplay and i don't feel like i desperately need a new CPU right now. At least not prior to Vulkan API and then we'll see if i'll just get liquid cooling and try to push the CPU to about 4,5GHz, or if i'm going for a new MB, RAM and a Ryzen 5800X. If my CPU benefits from Vulkan and i get better FPS after that major DCS upgrade, i will propably stay with that CPU for some longer time and wait for Zen4, wich is said to be already in development. This is only for DCS. I'm playing various other games as well and for those, my CPU is still doing great without any need for an upgrade. Except for DCS, i'm running all games with maximum graphic settings.

For me this works just fine, since the RDR elevation wheel on my throttle is also spring loaded like the real thing. When the wheel recenters, the antenna doesen't recenter but only stop moving and stays on the position i set it. Same for the TGP. It only zooms as long as i'm pressing the wheel up/down and it keeps the zoom lvl when the wheel is recentered. I guess this is how it should work. The only issue i'm having is, that the TGP zoom is somehow inverted. While wheel down is antenna elevation down (what i think is how it should be), for TGP zoom wheel down is then zoom out wich is somehow weird. I'm not sure if this is how it should be...

Ich habe neulich einen interessanten Artikel gelesen (ich weiß leider nicht mehr wo - Gamestar oder PCGH), demzufolge die Verfügbarkeit frühestens 2022 besser werden soll und die Preise für Grafikkarten 2021 nicht mehr sinken, sondern eher noch weiter steigen. Mit Konsolen sieht es aber nicht besser aus. Versuch mal eine PS5 zu bekommen. Entweder gibt es keine, oder man muss ebenfalls Mondpreise bezahlen. X570 chipset, not AMD mainboards in general. Will hopefully soon be fixed via UEFI update. But you're right, this is something the TO should be aware of when looking at the G2 as he owns a X570 mb.

Not sure if this is on my side, a bug, if i'm missing something, or if this already has been reported. So the moderators may move/delete this thread if i posted this on the wrong section. After a few weeks off DCS i just came back and noticed the emergency jettison is only dropping the twin rails (AMRAAMS, GBU's etc) on the left side, while it keeps the racks on the right wing. Does anyone else experience this, or is this propably an issue with my install? Cheers

Da fällt mir doch spontan ein Songtitel einer meiner Lieblingsbands ein: Angst ist nur ein Gefühl! Also wenn ich ehrlich bin, habe ich ganz und gar nicht das Gefühl als ob sich bei DCS nichts tut. Ich finde, gemessen an der Komplexität von DCS, tut sich da schon einiges. Klar, Vulkan zieht sich ewig hin, aber wie Shagrat schon gesagt hat, hat sich in den letzten Jahren doch gewaltig was am Kernprogramm verändert. KI-Einheiten, Lichteffekte, alleine die neuen Funktionen im Missionseditor (ok, den nutzen wohl nur wenige, weswegen die Änderung auch für viele nicht spürbar ist) waren doch sehr zahlreich in meinen Augen. Ich kann mich jedenfalls nicht beklagen. Klar ist DCS noch immer eine große Baustelle, aber das liegt in der Natur der Sache. Man muss aber auch bedenken, dass neue Module (die sich hoffentlich gut verkaufen) wie der Hind oder der Apache schlichtweg notwendig sind um dieses Langzeitprojekt am Leben zu halten. Erstens muss Umsatz generiert werden (Die Mitarbeiter müssen ja von irgendwas leben), zweitens würden wohl viele irgendwann DCS den Rücken kehren, wenns nicht regelmäßig neues "Futter" gibt. Sicherlich wird DCS irgendwann einmal in der uns bekannten Form beendet werden. Aber angesichts der Fülle an Modulen und Features an denen momentan und in der Zukunft gearbeitet wird, kann ich mir kaum vorstellen dass das in den nächsten Jahren passieren wird. Alleine schon, weil es wohl schwer werden dürfte die Kunden an ein neues Produkt heranzuführen nachdem man sie so vor den Kopf gestoßen hat. Nee, ich habe keinen Zweifel daran, dass ich den Apache bedenkenlos kaufen kann ohne Angst haben zu müssen dass DCS in 2 Jahren nicht mehr supported wird. Wir werden noch viele Jahre Spaß mit DCS haben und die Umstellung auf Vulkan wird die Lebensdauer immens verlängern (behaupte ich jetzt einfach mal).

Well, at least none that i'm aware of. I'm afraid you'd have to wait for the VKB throttle if you want a "all in one" throttle with high quality to replace your Virpil CM3. But i assume it is worth waiting as i'm pretty sure the VKB throttle will be absolutely great. Especially with the additional panels wich can be attached to the throttle base. Seems to be very versatile for various jets then. Hopefully available in 2021...

Other than that, i think there is no quality alternative to the Virpil throttle, except for the VKB throttle wich is sadly not available yet. Besides that, the TM throttle is very A-10 and F-15 specific as well. Besides the Hornet (wich is my absolute favorite DCS jet) i use the WinWing very comfortable for the Harrier and even for the F-16 without any trouble, so it beeing Hornet specific isn't realy an issue (at least for me). I also use it for other games like Arma3 and Star Citizen. Works great with these games as well Cheers

Removing the screws isn't neccessary to attach the TM grips on Virpil bases/extensions. This is done so you wont damage the TM grip in case the grip twists. This also provides the possibility to angle the grip in case of a center stick usage. I had my TM Hornet grip on a T50 base with the Virpil 200mm extension and it had some tiny little movement (about 1mm left and right) when it was fully screwed down. Replaced it with a Realsimulator F-18 grip and this one is rock solid on the Virpil extension without any movement. If you are going to use the TM Hornet grip, i'd recommend to remove the screws although it is not neccessary for that combo to work properly. Cheers

Würde Dich das wirklich interessieren, hättest Du den Eröffnungspost gelesen und würdest nicht mit so einer provokanten Polemik daherkommen. Die Zertifizierung selbst kostet meines Wissens gar nichts, die nimmt der Hersteller selbst vor. Die Zertifizierung verursacht aber Folgekosten, da z.B. nur bestimmte (evtl. teurere) Materialien verwendet werden dürfen, oder ESD Tests durchgeführt werden müssen um die Einhaltung des Zertifikats zu garantieren etc.. Möglicherweise entstehen auch Beraterkosten bei der Zertifizierung (Ich glaube der TÜV bietet z.B. Beratung zur CE Zertifizierung an).

Sure, of course this is down to personal preference. Well, the softest position of the springs is in fact very soft, so there is a spring setting for people who like their pedals soft. But since the strongest prositions difference is marginal, there is no spring setting for people who like their pedals strong. Wich i think, should be provided with ~500€ rudder pedals. But as i said, i put a dozen of rubber bands around the pendular system at the back of the pedals and it's more or less fine now. I mainly choosed the TPRs because of the pendular mechanism and it is pretty good. They are nice rudder pedals overall and i have no doubt you will enjoy them, quality and precision wise they are a significant upgrade to the Saitek pedals. They are just way too expensive imo. 350-400€ would be ok i guess, as i don't see them provide any better qualitiy, materials or technology than the Virpil rudder pedals, and by far not than the Slaws, wich could justify the higher price. Just a big brand name printed on them. Quality-wise they are absolutely ok by my experience and should serve you very well, but i for myself will definately go with the Slaws for my next pedal set. The Slaws are way ahead in terms of axis precision and used materials while only beeing slightly more expensive (at least here in central europe). Cheers

I would think the domestic campaign (Task Force Challenger) is good start. Okay, no AIM-9X, no AMRAAMs, no guided bombs and only 5 missions. But IMO it is a short but great campaign for everyone who has just started to learn the Hornet. My 2 cents. Cheers

Hmmm... not realy. At least not satisfied anymore, but was in the beginning. I payed 480€ (~550$) for mine and think even this price is way too high for what those pedals provide. Better put another 100 bucks on top and get the Slaw Viper RX pedals, wich are propably the best pedals money can buy. Precision could be better with the TPRs and the springs are waaay to soft. Put a couple of rubber bands around the pendular system on the back and now they feel almost like hydraulic pedals. But just almost. Got them for 2 years now and no fails or issues so far. But they were very uncomfortable to operate under a desk. In a simrig/pit with low seat height now, it's way more comfortable to use them. Cheers

Sarkasmus? Zum TE: Schau doch mal direkt bei TM auf der HP. Manchmal bieten die recht günstig generalüberholte Garantie-Rückläufer mit 6 Monaten Garantie an, falls das eine Option für dich ist. Generell würde ich aber, bei den momentanen Preisen von einem WH HOTAS Set abraten. Ich würde das ganze eher etwas splitten. Bestell bei Virpil eine base und den F/A-18 grip von TM. Der Hornet grip von TM ist sogar billiger geworden in den letzten Monaten ( aktuell 184,- bei Alternate, bei release des grips waren es 199,-) und die Preise bei Virpil wurden weder durch MSFS2020 noch durch Covid-19 beeinflusst. Der A-10/F-16 grip von TM kostet aktuell etwa 179,-€. Dann hättest Du schonmal einen hervorragenden Stick, ohne die Wucherpreise durch Covid-19 und MSFS2020 mitzunehmen. Klar, deutlich teurer als eine reine TM Lösung und fast so teuer wie das ganze WH Set momentan, aber wenn die Preise wieder auf ein normales Niveau sinken ärgerst Du Dich zumindest nicht, dass Du zu teuer eingekauft hast. Eher andersrum. Ich denke das Virpil irgendwann ebenfalls die Preise, zumindest etwas, anheben wird. Zum Glück hab ich von denen schon alles was ich will. Das größere Problem dürfte sein, einen günstigen WH Throttle zu bekommen. Aber wenn Du es nicht eilig hast, kannst Du ja erstmal den X-52 Throttle weiterverwenden, bis Dir ein Schnäppchen vor die Kimme kommt. Ich habe die Virpil WArBRD base seit etwas über einem Jahr als sidestick mit TM Warthog grip ohne Verlängerung im Einsatz, keine Chance dass ich die wieder durch meine eingelagerte WH base ersetze. Irgendwann werd ich die WH base wohl für nen Apple und nen Ei verkaufen, wenn mir danach ist. Die base war damals bei Virpil allerdings auf Lager und wurde per PayPal bezahlt. Lieferzeit waren 2 Wochen nach Bestellung. Die T50 base von Virpil habe ich im Oktober per Back-Order bestellt weil sie nie auf Lager ist. Das geht allerdings nur per Kreditkarte. Die T-50 base war aber trotzdem 13 Tage nach meiner Bestellung bei mir, schneller als die WarBRD base die auf Lager war. Wie lange es dauert bis eine Vorbestellung bei Virpiul geliefert wird, hängt scheinbar extrem von den bestellten Artikeln ab. Die Alpha grips scheinen sehr lange zu dauern, 8-12 Wochen Wartezeit habe ich schon gelesen, während die bases scheinbar relativ schnell nachproduziert und versendet werden. Viel Glück bei deiner Suche, auch wenns kein Zuckerschlecken wird und die Preise unverschämt sind. Aber falls es Dich tröstet, mit derartigen Problemen bist Du nicht alleine Mir ist am Samstag meine 1080Ti abgeraucht (wortwörtlich - es hat erst gezischt und dann geraucht Glück gehabt, dass Mainboard und PCIe Slot nix abbekommen haben) und kann jetzt nicht mehr warten bis vielleicht irgendwann mal eine 3080Ti erscheint auf die ich eigentlich warten wollte, oder die Preise vielleicht irgendwann mal merklich sinken. Ich musste Sonntag dann auch in den sauren Apfel beißen und die Mondpreise für die 3090 berappen. Tja, dumm gelaufen... Viele Grüße

Brauchst Du doch gar nicht. In Steam kann man für jedes Spiel die Sprache in der Bibliothek ändern. Rechtsklick auf DCS -> Eigenschaften -> Sprache -> Englisch auswählen. Der Rest läuft dann automatisch. Gleiches gilt für Wechsel zwischen open beta und stable.

Naheliegend. Zumal das ja alles nur Leaks (=Gerüchte) sind und noch nichts offiziell bestätigt ist. Macht die aktuellen 3000er Modelle aber, zumindest für mich, kein bisschen attraktiver. Hätte ich mir bereits eine 3080 gekauft und es kommen wirklich nicht mal 9 Monate später deutlich "bessere" Super Varianten, würde ich mir ganz gewaltig in den Anus beißen. Ich warte lieber noch ein Weilchen, wenn sich alle Gerüchte um NVIDIA Karten mit mehr VRAM in Luft auflösen (was ich mir angesichts der Konkurrenz aber kaum vorstellen kann), kann ich mir immer noch überlegen was ich kaufe. Meine Karte tuts soweit noch einigermaßen und ich hab erstmal keine Eile. Kauf auf jeden Fall den Arbeitsspeicher. Egal ob du den gleichen, oder schnelleren kaufst. Auf 32GB aufzurüsten ist garantiert kein Fehler und für 65€ auch keine schmerzhafte Investition, sollte mit deinem nächsten Board tatsächlich wieder neuer RAM erforderlich sein. Und wenn Du wirklich Dein gesamtes System auswechselst, kannst Du Deinen alten Rechner immer noch als Homeserver für DCS verwenden, dann hast Du auch weiterhin was vom nachgerüsteten RAM. Ob es ohne weiteres was bringt, RAM mit höherer Taktfrequenz zu kaufen hängt glaube ich auch ein bisschen von deinem Mainboard ab. Möglich, dass es schnelleren RAM trotzdem mit 2133 MHz taktet und du den RAM dann manuell im UEFI "übertakten" musst. Wenn dein MB über eine M.2 Schnittstelle verfügt (Im Handbuch oder auf der Seite von MSI nachschauen), dann würde ich dir noch eine entsprechende SSD empfehlen. Die Dinger sind inzwischen nicht mehr wirklich teurer als SATA SSDs. Zumindest die PCIe 3.0 NVMe. Informier dich aber vorher genau inwiefern dein MB kompatibel ist. Grafikkarte würde ich, wie bereits erwähnt, sowieso noch warten bis es solide Neuigkeiten bezüglich weiteren Modellen gibt. Aber da kannst eben nur Du selbst entscheiden, wie dringend eine neue Karte her muss. Viel Erfolg
