  1. Oh Im not considering buying it, havnt even got a 4K rig yet but some folk might and I was interested in the discussion.
  2. Just been down to the local shops and pride of place in the TV section was a $9000 Samsung 65” 8k tv. Is this going to be the next test for Computing power or will it just upscale 4K? The sales pitch recons this is almost perfect vision and will be the last resolution as you won’t be able to see and benefit with any more pixels. So have we reached the final resolution we will all be watching in 40 years time?? Is anyone jumping on the 8k train soon??
  3. Thanks frag - looks like just the job! Perhaps when I thought it was a bit overkill the industrial feel actually is pretty cool in a pit, like you said, you know its been switched!! Off to purchase...
  4. Awesome work, what keypads did you use? Just like USB ones? Will you also re-use the keys? Its always been the most challenging thing for me without a CNC router to make square buttons, drills are round, need a square drill!
  5. The Air Bases are lifeless too, can this be applied to them?
  6. Man I need to find a woman like that!
  7. E3 Sentry AWACS? Yes please
  8. Yes, check this out: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=178838 http://www.captzeen.com/helios/mig-21bis.asp You can put the gauges on a second monitor, I used to run A-10 gauges on a 15" monitor behind a piece of wood which allowed me to mount panels: Not a bad place to start or:
  9. If it were viable would Microsoft have built more, or license build them whilst they were being paid under the patent?
  10. I was looking at those but it just seems overkill, I wonder if could mod one to turn continuously.
  11. I think they all stop after either 4 turns or whatever you set it at so you have to go back around, i wanted to go straight from pos 4 to pos 1.
  12. Can you buy multi turn rotary switches in 4 or 8 position versions? EG Bleed Air and Ins inputs in the F/A-18C.
  13. My intention is NOT to fly in cockpit view but some people without every mapped control need both. As far as it looking silly to you, that is your opinion, if they are happy with it, who cares what anyone else thinks?
  14. My window is at 90 degrees to the track ir but the sun moves across it, I made a small cardboard glareshield for the sensor, as the sensor is only narrow the glareshield doesnt have to be too big.
  15. 4 position 360 rotation encoder - nothing comes up.
  16. Did you print the panels? Usually the switch attaches to the bottom plate, the middle plate is a diffuser and holes large enough to fit around the switch screw and the top plate is for the engraving. I think the long necks are printed or lathed and stuck over the top of the standard switch with either a grub screw or glue to hold them on.
  17. That is awesome, nice work man!
  18. So can I ask a question, on the F-18 the bleed air seems to be a 4 position encoder that can turn 360 and the INS is an 8 position encoder that can turn 360. Do these exist outside of the military spec components?
  19. Anyone got a video of the issue that was fixed yesterday, sounds like it might be funny!
  20. Well from what I can tell, the buttons to the left of the throttle are no use in DCS and as said by someone else I already have the panels behind it in my simpit. Also, it makes it very aircraft specific. Lets say you made a stand alone throttle you 'could' make interchangeable throttle tops for different aircraft, once you have an F/A-18 base then its an F/A-18 forever. A bit like the Stick, if Thrustmaster ever got around to making the F-18 Stick (or any other) the gimbal is just a gimbal and non aircraft specific you can attach the new Stick but their throttle is always an A-10 Throttle. I just think you could make a stand alone throttle then perhaps and additional panel so you can buy it with or without you may get more sales?
  21. Does your website have an English language setting? Looks to be some nice stuff on there.
  22. That is very tidy, nice work!
  23. Love it!! Nice work.
  24. I just moved in November and its nice to have some space, there is a room I haven't really been in yet! Problem is with a new house comes lots of additional jobs from the wife and these jobs don't come cheap either.
  25. This looks awesome, I really want the Throttle without a panel though, is it modular?
