It is the Samsung black, had it for about 2 years, last night was downloading something from Steam and the PC froze, recycled it and it booted from by HDD an old profile! Doesnt recognise the SSD at all. Is that it dead, deceased, no longer of this world or can you recover them? Im trying leaving it plugged into power only as an interweb page suggested but not holding out. Is this common and if getting a new one, are more expensive ones less likely to siffer this fate or is it just a thing that can happen to SSD's? Its a lot of DCS to re-download thats for sure.....

Capt Zeen how do you program these? I wanted to use part of your panel such as the UFC, HUD control Panel the Armaments panel and IR panel but none of the others. Is there any chance you could explain how I remove the panel graphic then delete the switches I dont need and then perhaps create a new graphic panel? I noticed you used the A-10C interface, how do you know which switch in A-10C is the one in the F/A-18C?

Its not really a good picture as the perspective makes it look like the lower scree is bigger that the view screen but I mounted a monitor below the upper and modified the desk: When you are sat there the lower monitor is below the eyeline so it works. I also did this which shows how bad photo perspective is, 15" monitor to 27" monitor from the side: From infront the photo makes them look the same size: WHen they are in front of you, it looks fine....

5k for a screen on wheels?! Seems absurd but obviously a niche market. I have some magic beans for sale.

I play trackir and it can be a pain in the arse. Move too fast and too far an it inverts itself or loses track, you have to be smooth when you play and even then it can be fickle if you have another light source or want to look down at a panel. Im not going to VR yet and got trackir before VR, as someone else mentioned, TiR doesnt need a computer upgrade, you can just plug and play, you can also probably sell it for little less than you paid for it if money is an issue. However, whilst you could also get a 2nd hand Occulus, you would need the PC to run it. I think the phrase is horses for courses, they are not really an alternative to each other, TiR provides additional immersion to 2d but VR is a different dimension. I havnt gone VR because by the time a build a rig capable of running a VR headset, the VR headset will move along and a new generation will be available, I might jump aboard the next release of VR and do a PC build just for it.

Does 5k include the 3 projectors? My eyes are watering!!

Nice, can I ask (I need a touch screen) that are they bullet proof? With say helios you push the button and all works as expected?

Sounds like i would be better upgrading the GPU before the rest of the system, however, if I am going to wait and see what AMD do, I may as well wait for the GPU as inevitably it will come down in price?

There is always something to wait for, damn you for mentioning Ryzen3000 but thank you as I hadnt heard of it! I can wait, its been a couple of Gen since I tried AMD and that looks pretty good. Banished isnt taking up too much processing capacity and the F/A-18C doesnt have a dynamic campaign yet! :thumbup:

I am still rocking the old Sandy i7 2600k with a Radeon R9 200 and with my settings I can fly happily >30fps (I am happy, I know no difference)! The Sandy is stable at 4.2ghz, the machine has been solid for a number of years. I am now ready for the upgrade, it runs everything but its time. Its a stupid question but I dont understand.... the Intel Core i7 8700K 3.70 GHz Unlocked CPU Processor - 6 Cores - 12 Threads - Frequency: 3.70 GHz - Turbo Boost: 4.70 GHz - L2 Cache 1.5 MB (256 KB per Core) - L3 Cache 12 MB....... I could push the 2600k to 4.7, its base clock is 3.6 (I think) so similar to the 8700k in both base and "turbo"...so why do we upgrade, is there more to a CPU than the GHz? I know with my MOBO there are limits to PCIe, USB and Memory speed but could someone explain what the difference is between 4.2GHz Sandy (i7 2600k) and say 4.2GHz i7 8700k?? Thanks!

I think this must be a simple 'user' issue, I cannot get Mk82 (82XT) to drop without going below the pull up point. CCIP NOSE OFF RET I cannot get an impact point at all!!

I wonder if TM would be open to making replacement Hotas Throttle 'Panels' for the Warthog to ship with the Stick Top? I took mine off the other day to replace them with a DIY printed version but I wondered if they could try and design one for the critical buttons that uses the LEDs to back light it? Thoughts?

Hi, I am looking for a touchscreen to use as my F/A-18 UFC as I have failed miserably at making one!! Ebay is selling things called touch button screen, which I would imagine are not touch screens at all?! Its just happened again, all my different control profiles have been screwed up! Can I ask, are people using target or in game assignments for their Thrustmaster HOTAS? I have never used TARGET am I missing out?

Yes, with that kind of approach you wouldn’t have a supported product at all, there wouldn’t be an ED and you would still be moaning for another suite upgrade in a year or so. No pleasing some people.

We don’t want ED to spend time and resources on updating legacy products that are already best in class. We bought a product that delivers what it said to a much higher standard than many AAA titles ever do, if they spend any time updating the suite it’s taking time away from new aircraft and simulator functionality such as new maps, improved AI, Dynamic Campaign, underwater environment, performance tweaks.......

I might add that try and stay away from car seats, they are very very heavy! I have one but to mount it you need some seriously sturdy wood and all in, it’s nit very portable and takes up a lot of space.

What type of laser is it? I see some Chinese 40w ones on eBay for $500aud?
