  1. That makes no sense at all. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  2. Another thing to factor in is, if you really want to be dangerous in a hornet in air 2 air and against good pilot, forget carrying 10 amraams. Take 4 amraams ans 2 9x with 2 bags that you should drop before the engagement. A clean hornet with 4 MRM + 2 SRM is a much closer match to a viper and accelarates incredibly fast. Put a double amraam launcher and all your accelartion goes to hell. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  3. Hola, bienvenido! 4. As Quigon conveniently highlights, I think the EA is a good option for some of us and it should not prejudice any customers who decides to stay away. As you can see in my OT, i clearly stated that this is a controversial theme, and to avoid the discussion to drift away I tried to encourage the participation of those who like it, to see what is the best approach and foster that discussion. In any case of course any opinion are welcome since this is a forum. But please keep it civilized and do not belittle those of us who would love to fly a typhoon in VR in 1 year better than in 3, even if its without weapons.
  5. This, exactly this. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  6. Should we also consider that DCS simulates a C5? Maybe pilots talk about a C-7? Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  7. Amraam range is much better now. 30/40nm shots are now possible at high altitudes. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  8. Well, actually yes... i guess [emoji28], except for the estimates dates thing. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  9. Hello all, Since I'm one of those eagerly awaiting a typhoon as soon as possible, I would like to suggest truegrit an early access scheme to consider. First of all let me say that the EA horse has been beaten to dead in these forum and its not for everyone, so those of you who hate this scheme please stay away. Back to the point, thinking of an EA for the typhoon I would love truegrit could think, establish and present their future customers with an EA access roadmap. This roadmap should contain estimates dates so no one feel annoyed or deceived. This are not set in stones but could give everyone a rough estimation. Let me start this exercise with some made up roadmap similar to what i have in mind. -Phase 1 IOC (Initial operational cappability): In this first phase truegrit could only focus in the FM, 3D art (cockpit and exterior) and basic systems (no advance navigation, no A2G, no DASS, no link16...). Add to that very basic air to air radar festures with sidewinders and amraam maybe. As you can see there is not a lot to do here just train on the plane and help fund the project in case you believe in it. This could maybe be introduced in 6-9 months and should not last more than 6 months up to the introduction of phase 2. Phase 2: In this phase truegrit could introduce some advance navigation functionality, maybe simple link16 and the striker helmet with iris-t and a bit more functionality to the radar. Maybe 6/8 months here would be realistic. Phase 3: after 1 year/12 month in EA we should expect a more mature product, almost complete air to air radar functionality coupled with defensive systems and polished navigation and link16/MIDS. Also basic air to ground. Another 6/8 months. Phase 4: 8 more months to complete all the set of tools this beaty have: pod, dass, maybe meteor...you name it. As you imagine you can brake this as much as you want until the product leaves the EA in 2/3 years (if its similar to other complex ED modules. I hope some of you and specially Truegrit like and consider the idea. Regards, Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  10. Its a better missile, but its not so drastic. At low altitudes where before you had to wait to 12 miles now you can get maybe 14/15ish kills (120c version) Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  11. Yes, having a hornet and viper radar WIP with no EW modelling so far does not help. Once jamming is implemented for both radars the hornet (or other fighters by that matter) jammer will deny really long shots. The viper radar is not bad at all but should suffer a lot against modern jammers. The hornet on the other hand should burnthrough the jammer a bit earlier, so there you go, you will have a first shot option against viper. That does not take away the superior viper kinematics, you need to learn to cope with that. The same should apply against an F15C, if we had some basic EW modelling, this fighter would rule them all in bvr as his radar is really a monster and with its incredible speed it should always have a first shot advantage over vipers and hornets. Sorry for the Off topic
  12. Try fighting in an eagle or tomcat. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  13. How does this affect enemy units? Its like cities in which they pop up at certain range? I want to be able to spot groud targets and fighters at maximum distance, nothing lower than that, but im ok with the rest of the eye candy Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  14. I enjoy dcs in vr, for 2 years now Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  15. I do not agree, the 2000-5 is a new plane, new radar, totally different avionics, new smart weapons, even different engine IIRC. For sure it will need tons of work so it should be a new module. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  16. The release thing is most probably a control mapping issue. Go to setting, axis and control and check that you dont have more than one key assigned to weapon realease. Also check that the key press is registered correctly in the control panel to discard joystick malfunction. Regarding datalink contacts not showing, we will need a track for it to help you a bit more.
  17. What i'd love is that more servers let you start with your aircraft fully fueled. It does not make a lot of sense to me having to be inside the plane during the refuel... if i was supposed to fly a mission while didn't my groundcrew fuel up my jet while i was in the briefing room? 18. So many things to improve in the radar modelling. ED needs to make a good compromise because the subject is tricky and hugely difficult to make right, but definetely there are some scripting or tweaking that without going too far would increase playability and better represente real tactical options, some examples for me are: -RCS multiply factor regarding payload (you could be quite conservative/simplistic and at least increment 20/30 % RCS when you are fully loaded) -Radar cell resolution: far away target flying very close one to the other could be represented as one. -SPJ on fighter are not noise jammers, they could be better represented as a 0.x% of probability of breaking lock, being the probability less as you get closer. They should act similar for deceiving radar guided missiles.
  19. The litening is by no means completed, there is many functionalities missing. Air to air mode is the most obvius one, but also the display of coordinates in the air to ground mode.
  20. For sure, all pilots describe the typhoon as a viper on steroids. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
  21. WHat!!!!!!!!!! OMG i hope it is under development
  22. Because he is interested? It seems quite obvius to me, your response on the other hand...
  23. Its a very close match. In a BVR scenario i think the viper is superior as it can give more energy to its shots versus the hornet, it can also abandon the fight if he wants to. This only holds true for DCS, in real life the hornet built in jammer and more powerful radar can probably deny a first shot. The hornet can in fact carry more amraams, this will let him "waste" long range shots to force the bandit defensive". That is a plus for him. In a dogfight situation is just the better pilot who will win. In a CAC with both planes having 9x, the sutpidly crazy hornet nose ability (pulling the g override) will allow him a first shot in a neutral merge. So for me: BVR 1 vs 1 F16, BVR against multiple bombers F18, CAC with 9X hornet, guns only dogfight (its just the better pilot) but maybe the F16.
  24. Please, post a track or video so we can see and help you better. Without further knowledge i would say that this could be coming from poor radar scan management in altitude. So basically when you start the engament far away the bandits are well inside the radar cone vertically, but as they come closer they could slip out of your "cone". To discard this, make sure the TDC are always on top of the bandits or close, so that the numbers at the top and bottom of the TDC gives you the real altitude that your radar cone is scanning at that given distance. Just my two cents. It could be a very recent bug also but i have not found any problem with the hornet radar so far. Try also a repair just in case.
  25. Thx! I will try. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
