Rift S user, sometimes DCS is launching ok, sometimes it get stuck on the loading screen forever. Even when is loadingit takes quite a lot to start. Repaired 3 times already, same behavior. Any tips?

Can you explain what is the problem? I might be experiencing the same thing.

In DDCS helicopters are key, they are meeded to sling and capture FOBs. There is always some people in thems and are both primary targets or assets that we try to protect. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk

You guys are definetely operating the radar in a wrong way. The APG73 as is right now in the sim is amazing. It is able to detect almost any kind of target over 60Mn and even over 80 MN and that is just fighters. Since the introduction of TWS is even more deadly now. So if you are having trouble detecting any kind of target in any situation please post a track or at least a videolink so we can all help you out.

Remember that the numbers on top and bottom of the tdc represent the altitute coverage at the range of the TDC. This is very important, since the radar is like a cone so if the target is closer, lets say 15 MN at 15K it is very possible that he is outside of the radar "cone" even if its say 24.000/10.000 on the TDC and the target is at 15.000, just because you TDC is at a different distance. So a good practice is to always place the TDC around the distance where you expect to detect the target, that way the top and bottom figures will more representative of your radar coverage at that distance. The Phoenix should not be able to turn that well...

Same here, i think is codified. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk -
The Aim120 in DCS flies very closely to what a real missile would do (with current unclassified information). A missile categorized in market brochures as a 40-60 mn missile could very well be actually a 10-15mn missile at very low altitudes against a high speed maneuvering target. This is the first hit of truth newcomers find when they get to DCS and are deceived by marketing brochures that you see in self-claimed specialized internet sources. To give you an examples, this very same missile you are having trouble getting hits with further than 10 mn, will score a perfect hit against an awacs or bomber at over 25-30 MN given the right conditions. The only thing that puzzles me from you topic is regarding the aim9x range. For sure you won't be getting >10mn kills with that missiles, or you should not except for very very rare launching parameters (basically an stupid high speed non maneuvering target coming directly at you at angels 20 or so)

Sorry just a clarification to this specific comment. Are you comparing prices at different times? A 500,000$ AIM54C of the 70s/80s is rather like a 3,500,000$ of 2020. The inflation from 1970 averages 580% which means a dollar in 1970 is like 6.82 dollars in 2020. So basically you would have a missile 7 times more expensive over a 120 C5 nowadays. Ok i see. Just to be clear, my only intention with this thread was to share a rare footage of a direct impact of the phoenix while doing a high g maneuver, that shows that the missile is indeed dangerous and able to get a direct hit to a moving target. But just that. I mean it was some anecdotical find that i wanted to share. Dont read further from that. This is not intended as a pro or con thread against the other different points discussed in the multiple threads (guidance, excesive range, etc....). If anything, this is a partial counterargument against the argument that says something like a big/huge missile cannot/shouldn't turn well, particularly when the engine is still burning. Don't you a see a missile making an almost 90 degree split turn to score a direct hit at 7.30? We loose the perspective of the target so difficult to say if its maneuvering or not, but for sure the missile did a high g turn in the last moment to get that hit ... -

I know XD. It was just a bit of a sacarstic title. I thought i should share this. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk -
For those who argument that because the Phoenix is a big missile designed to take out bombers hence it should not turn well or be dangerous against fighters please look this at 7:30... I was quite impressed.

Hello ED, I'm just curious how far down the list of things to implement is the creation of markpoints and inputing coordinates in grid format as the one JTACs normally use I'm also particularly interested in the creation of mark points through the jhmcs. Thanks! Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk

Varias cosas Atazar. True, it was rather a request for info from other posters who might have read about it. Although, otoh i thought part of the announcement from ED was about getting into a constructive analysis of the AS IS regarding the Phoenix and SD10 with you guys and DEKA to see if they (the missiles) are where they should be, and I mean following a total factual approach. I get from your answer that no contact have been made from ED and no discussion is happening. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk

On a different topic, i'm curious about the whitepaper ED would share with other 3rd parties regarding missiles and of course the improvements to the aim120c lofting and FM They were expected for february, any news about this? Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk

Why? It is actually quite easy to dodge a phoenix combining good notch with agressive chaff. At least i can say i can do it enough as to feel comfortable fighting f14 in MP and avoid running away like there is no fight to put up. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk

I think you are falling into a very common phalacy, while A is true does not imply B is true: "the phoenix was designed to kill bombers at very long ranges outside of the range where these bombers were supposed to launch their missiles" that is true. But then, you are implying as a corollary that it should perform badly against fighters, which has no correlation. It might be totally true or totally false. If you want to prove it you need to discuss how the whitepaper in which the phoenix is based is wrong. The common sense, at least for me is totally the opposite, you have a missile capable of insane speeds and with a huge warhead, i mean the common sense tells me that even being at 20 metres from a maneuvering target and exploding would cause serious damage to the plane... It also has huge surface to maneouver, idk, the only thing that seems a bit wrong to me is his resistance to countermeasures and jamming, just that. Enviado desde mi SM-G950F mediante Tapatalk
