  1. What, do you think every missile is built the same? Mobius708
  2. The Navy does use the RIM-7 Sea Sparrow and SM-2. The NASAMS SAM battery uses AIM-120s, we actually just got this in DCS. Mobius708 I would also note that the Phoneix was built to intercept bombers and missiles. The AMRAAM has a better radar than the 54 and it has no problem intercepting med-hi RCS missiles. Mobius708
  3. What missile are you talking about? Certainly doesn't work that way for an AIM-120C-5. Once pitbull the datalink connection is severed and the missile is on its own. Mobius708
  4. So the Taxi light is on the nose wheel strut. Only one T handle switch controls it. It is shut off automatically when the gear is retracted. I wouldn't worry about binding it, just click it. The other lights are formation, position (or navigation), and strobe. The position lights are on a knob outboard of the throttle. These are your red and green lights on the wings and such. The formation lights are to be used at night and are larger blue light bars on the side of the fuselage and tail. These have a knob next to the position lights. The strobe light is the flashing one at the top of the vertical stabilizers. There is a toggle control on the throttle that affects all of the lights except the taxi light. This is the only one I would bother binding. The thing with the wing fold is that you need to pull the handle out first, then it can be rotated to the other two positions. I do have this bound, but never use it. Just use your mouse. Mobius708
  5. Uh, you CAN'T support the missile all the way, it doesn't work like that. "This needs to be addressed so pilots, even at close ranges need to support those actives. Rather than exploiting insta lock feature and turning cold instantly when assuming missile in pitbull range." lmao, that defeats the point of the missile design.
  6. I am not, you never made it clear. Mobius708 A large RCS Missile sub 10 should easily be found and intercepted by an AMRAAM. At that point it's Mad-dog off the rail. Mobius708
  7. To add on to the previous response, with CSS you can use the trim hat to adjust pitch and roll. It will not affect the previous trim inputs once CSS is disabled. Mobius708
  8. The AMRAAMs is still a HOB missile, it's just initially limited by the radar gimbal for target acquisition. You can launch them HOB, but they will need to expend more energy to make the initial turn, like JDAMs too. Mobius708
  9. Are you talking about the HOB capabilities of the 9X? Mobius708
  10. You just need to climb properly. You can get the Tomcat to 55+ relatively easily, but then you really need to pay attention to your alpha. You will even need to dive at time then reclimb. It is certainly doable. Mobius708
  11. With a little practice it's pretty easy to learn the throttle control anticipation. I never touch pitch controls once in landing configuration, unless I'm doing a section landing as -2. Mobius708
  12. Yes this is correct. You cancel A/P with the paddle switch. If you just deselect the A/P mode the aircraft will remain in CSS A/P. Mobius708
  13. That is actually done if you do an auto stop. With the Blue Angels mod you can control the boarding ladder. Mobius708
  14. Not true at all. You just can't have an extreme bank or dive/climb initially. Or excessive inputs on the stick. (half throw) Mobius708
  15. It was that SCS depress initiated a CIT interrogation, but this was wrong from the start. SCS depress in now correct, just not finished. SCS depress is a modifier function for the SCS and is used to command a CIT with depress and SCS right. Not implimented yet but there are other fuctions such as depress and SCS aft to cue the TGT data format. Mobius708
  16. Don't touch the stick. Trim to onspeed and only use the stick for lateral adjustments. Mobius708
  17. Fly onspeed AoA. Trim means nothing. You want 8.1° alpha and the orange donut to the right of your HUD. This is very important in the Hornet and basically the only way you land. Mobius708
  18. JHMCS would be over the pilot's dominant eye. Mobius708
  19. Off/idle is all you need. When the throttle is back it is pushing a button and the signal for off/idle to be depressed is given. As soon as the button is released by moving the throttle forward, the idle command is sent. Mobius708
  20. Can you go through with the startup or do you have the actual symptoms of a PTS failure? (Power Transmission Shaft) You would see GEN, BOOST LO, and HYD circuits cautions. Mobius708
  21. You always trim, in every aircraft that can, all the time. Mobius708
  22. You need to use trim to correct. You can make sure there aren't any erroneous inputs by watching the controls position indicator. rctl+enter. Mobius708
  23. Redkite and Wags on YouTube. Chuck's guides Tactical DCS discord:https://discord.gg/C4thKVS5AE Actually yes, I'm in two milsim squadrons. (One combat, one aerobatics.) Mobius708
  24. Don't use profiles. Create your own based on what you need. The basics of comms, countermeasures, and master modes are a good place to start. Mobius708
