ENG format thrust percentage not populating
Hulkbust44 replied to Hulkbust44's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
2.1.1.7.6 in A1-F18AC-NFM-000 THRUST field shows Thrust in % This is in the EMD in the F/A-18C/D Thrust is not mentioned for the F/A-18A/B EMI display. Mobius708 -
Yep, it's more or less the same story with the AMRAAMs. Mobius708

I hate the Viper HOTAS, it practically worthless next to the Hornet's system, I have no idea where all the praise for it comes. It does one or two nice things, (Like NWS to toggle CCRP, CCIP, STRF) but it is *so* lacking in logic. Plus, OP being a Hornet guy the last thing he'd want to fly is the 16. I'm that way because it's not like you're going back to an F-5, it's still modern avionics that are just a disappointment coming from the 18. It's like there's no logic. OP should definitely try the M2K though, great little jet, A/G is simple, and A/A is fun. It got such a unique style with it's own set of quirks. Older jet, less capable, but still FBW and very competitive in the cold war arena. Mobius708 It just dosen't, and is less capable in every aspect while trying to be a Hornet. Just flying it feels odd, the Hornet flies like a proper aircraft while still being FBW, M2K does a great job of this as well, 16 not too much. Definitely stick with the Hornet. It's already more capable than what the F-16 will be and will only get better. Mobius708

Title really, AMPCD PB 4 on tac format does not have the attack format option in A/A. NATOPs mentions that all formats except for the A/G radar can be displayed on the AMPCD. Could we get a second look at this? (This is in 2.13.4.6) Mobius708

Yes, the FLIR will slave to the TGT designation. In this case the designation is moving, being constantly update by the GMTSTT. Mobius708

Yep, everything but data on the attack format, in A/A and A/G. AZ/EL too. Mobius708

Check and make sure the pedals are centered with the controls overlay. (Ctrl + enter) I have noticed an issue with the Hornet drifting right on the ground, I've confirmed this with other guys as well. This has been going on for a while. Mobius708

You should be able to WPDSG, pickle, step to next waypoint, pickle. I don't believe you need to designate each time. If the buildings are equally spaced you could set up an autodrop string. Mobius708

Also, the same bump logic exists for the SA format too. Mobius708

Just as the title says. Every other field is populated and works, but thrust is blank. With the rest of the details on the page I find it had to believe this was missed intentionally. See NATOPs I-2-7 Mobius708

To add on, you can also change the range by TDC depressing over the range scale arrows, as well as bumping the cursor out then back into the tactical area (main "box" of the display")within one second. Top increases scale, bottom decreases. Mobius708

What are the conditions for this symbology? I never saw the purple when firing 120s in RWS earlier. (Indicating an AMRAAM is enroute to that track correct?) Mobius708

No reason to not branch out! I found it surprising to learn that 70% of the player base is strictly single player, frankly I find that quite sad that the majority have never seen DCS close to it's full potential. If it was just a 50/50 split you would see hundreds more servers, and dozens of new popular ones. We just need to make MP sound more inviting. (I know that there are those that can't run in MP for performance reasons, or even time, but this is addressed to those who just haven't tried it at all yet.)

The coolest little thing just got me excited
Hulkbust44 replied to FoxxyTrotty's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
There's a lot of core Hornet systems that were done phenomenally well, they just don't get as much attention as the avionics. Just look at the systems that were slaved over for so long that we take for granted, such as the caution and advisory system. I went back a few days ago and read over the initial development reports, amazing stuff. Mobius708 -
TDC depress as ED modeled it initially, is the incorrect way. Should be Cage/uncage as documented in NATOPS. It's probable that with the last OB that this was corrected but not documented as other work was done on the JHMCS. I had plenty of startups last night and had no alignment issues, but I did press both the TDC depress and cage/uncage so I don't remember which one worked exactly... Mobius708

Yes the Viper's radar has been fixed internally. The Hornet radar is a lot more correct now, but it is underperforming. The AN/APG-65 that it replaced had a longer detection range than what we have in DCS, from what I've heard. Mobius708

It's a command to go to a single target track with the radar. (STT) Cued when sparrow is selected Mobius708

correct as-is Litening TGP Magnification wrong?
Hulkbust44 replied to Jafferson's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Okay, let's fix something. Only the F-16C and F/A-18C have the same LITENING II. The Harrier has a LITENING Gen IV and the A-10C has a LITENING AT. So, the magnification in this case should be equal to that of the Viper's, and both should have the pixelated effects of digital zoom. You can see here where Heatblur got it right for the Tomcat's LANTRIN. Either way, you should just use the ATFLIR with it's 5 levels of optical zoom. -
Missclicked mate, this is the Hornet forum. Mobius708 Your HARMs weren't on the inner pylons right? You can't fire from those. Mobius708
-
That would be great. The engines are already modeled independently, we just need that for the DM. ED is working on a new DM, right now it is being tested on the warbirds.

Hornet Single Player not playable anymore in the Beta-version
Hulkbust44 replied to oho's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Dosen't that just affect carrier takeoffs? Mobius708 -
So the term "handoff" refers to the transfer of target selection data from the aircraft weapons system to the weapon. The Hornet's ASPJ and RWR are interlinked with the HARM. Afaik there is no function to slave sensors to the targeted emitter. Mobius708
