  1. Do not buy the 16 stick. It's basically the same as what you already have. The Hornet stick has the Castle switch depress which will be very helpful. Mobius708
  2. If you get the 18 stick it will be default 1:1. I've been using the Wharthog stick and love it. Technically more buttons with more tactile feedback. Issue when using it with the Hornet is that the stick hats lack a depress as you would need for the SCS. Mobius708
  3. You're still just seeing the deflection of a given flight control surface. There is no indication of the amount of "trim" you've input to the FCS. So no, there is no trim indicator in flight. Mobius708
  4. Wait, really? What exactly are you seeing? Mobius708
  5. I'm DCS right now, no. When proper MSI gets implimented all of the sensors will talk to each other. The ATFLIR will be able to build a track that you can hook with the radar for example. If you have the Litening there is actually a radar slave button at the top of the format. Actually there is a way you can do it via the AZ/EL. With the format you can see the FLIR LOS as a hexagon, line up you AZ/EL radar TDC with the hexagon and TDC depress to center the radar scan volume around it. Once the radar finds it you can castle towards the AZ/EL to command an auto acquisition. Mobius708
  6. HSI on the DDIs should be able to display the same map as the AMPCD just monochromatic. Mobius708
  7. Now that's odd. There was an external tank right? Really the only way for this to happen would be if external tank transfer was disabled. That clearly hasn't happened as there isn't anything about it on the ADV-. Mobius708
  8. That weight number looks like it's hard coded into the mission script. You also have irregular fuel values at this point. What were you doing earlier? You have more external fuel than internal fuel yet your internal is down to some 9k when it should be around 10.8k when you have fuel in the externals. Mobius708
  9. Reread the instructions. He says that the only start up difference for being on the carrier is to use CV instead of GND for the alignment process. He then says to that you will just be working on taxi and takeoff for this mission. He never told you to touch the INS knob. Mobius708
  10. Well for the FPM it means you have a bad INS alignment or didn't complete it. The advisories on the LDDI confirm this is the issue. Mobius708
  11. Here is my groups TACSOP, under flight you should have all of the formation illustrations and info. I attempted to take just a few of the pages but Tapatalk wouldn't let me.http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/60f07b0de762d/vVMFA-251%20TACSOP.pdf Mobius708
  12. The last thing you want to look at when in formation is a kneeboard lol. I should have some vsquadron docs I can share a bit later. Mobius708
  13. Have you unstowed the FLIR with a double press of the NWS button? Are you in FLIR IR or TV? You need IR to really see anything at night, and then you need to adjust the contrast and such. Mobius708
  14. I know for a fact at least before the last patch that I could fire the HARM in SP when in A/A. Mobius708
  15. That's because this was a stable patch, everyone else on OB got this back in March. Mobius708
  16. For the DCS mod, just the external model and cockpit displays color. Also the texture on the UFC was changed to make it look like a digital one. Mobius708
  17. Does the attack format have TDC priority? The TDC cursor will not be displayed if the display does not have the TDC assigned to it. Mobius708
  18. Yes, the Attack format B sweep line will stop in the middle and FLOOD will be displayed. Mobius708
  19. Yeah the rudder toed in that is correct. For the BIT failure, are you pressing OSB PB 5 twice (when BIT format is on right DDI) while holding the FCS BIT consent switch? The make sure you click the FCS BIT switch back down. Mobius708
  20. No, there is no auto reacquisition. However, if you can quickly reacquire the target the missile should resume tracking. If the STT is dropped when guiding a missile, the WCS will revert to sparrow FLOOD mode. With FLOOD the area of radar coverage off your nose is flooded with emissions. Whatever reflects the radar energy should be visible to the sparrow and it will go for that return. Mobius708
  21. What Tholozor said. Also make sure the FCS bit switch returns to the down position. Mobius708
  22. I'm having a hard time following... This is the correct behavior: Wings locked: If off, NWS low is activated by a single NWS button press and remains engaged until the paddle switch is depressed. Holding NWS button will temporarily engage high gain NWS as long as the button is held. Wings unlocked: If off, NWS high is activated by a single NWS button press and remains engaged until the paddle switch is depressed. Lowering the launch bar will disable any NWS. Only NWS low is available with the launch bar lowered. To use NWS low you must hold the NWS button. NWS low will be disengaged uppon release of the NWS button. Mobius708
  23. Does it disappear when you turn off the datalink. The TCN and D/L systems should be interconnected. If not then it's most likely bugged. Mobius708
  24. Well are you still on speed and flying fine? There is no trim position indicator in the cockpit (aside from rudder trim knob) so you are most likely seeing the stabilator position which should change as the FCS controls the aircraft, and not you. Mobius708
