  1. RWR knob back left, 1st collum of white knobs, 2nd row iirc. Mobius708
  2. Not trying to be smart, but were you facing the emitter? The Harms do have a limited FOV. Mobius708
  3. With realistic TDC slew, all is good. However with the unrealistic TDC special options check box ED added for Wharthog users, the behavior is expected to be the same as Mavs with this option checked. There is no "correct as is" by IRL documentation as this is a fictional option that ED added. Is there any reason that the the A/G radar with EXP X boxed and unrealistic TDC slew enabled, would act differently from the Maverick slew where TDC depress isn't required? Mobius708
  4. Wait, how did you get to EW before? I've been paying very close attention to the DCS Hornet and have never head of this being implimented. Mobius708
  5. Yes, way too over modeled. By a very generous calculation it should have a maximum range of 35 miles, right now it's 77... Mobius708
  6. Yes, it's just doing it too well rn Mobius708
  7. Previously reported already. Mobius708
  8. Yep, correct on all accounts. ED clearly copied some lines from the more restricted documentation that represent the full capabilities of the aircraft and put it in the manual. Even though we don't have such features. It is also mentioned that MSI HAFUs should be displayed on the AZ/EL format... Mobius708
  9. We must be looking at different versions. "Changing Radar Scan Centerpoint Pressing and holding TDC Designate when the cursor is not over a HAFU symbol will change the cursor to a pointing cross, which can be slewed using the TDC. To the left of the pointing cross are the minimum and maximum altitudes (in thousands) for the radar scan volume at one-half the range selected on the Attack format. For example, if the radar range is currently 40 NM, the altitudes shown next to the pointing cross represent the minimum and maximum altitudes of the radar scan volume at 20 NM. If the active radar mode is VS (velocity search), the altitudes shown are at a fixed range of 40 NM. If FLIR is the selected sensor, only one altitude is shown adjacent the pointing cross, representing the altitude along the FLIR LOS at one-half the selected range on the Attack format. Releasing TDC Designate re-centers the radar scan volume in the location of the pointing cross and reverts the pointing cross back to a cursor." -pg 322-323 Last mentioned list of changes in my copy is February 2021. 10. R.T.F.M /s Real quick, SPOT is not an ACM function, you are probably thinking of the uncaged WACQ. SPOT is accessible by TDC depress long in RWS and TWS. For real though, Chucks guide is a great resource, but it's an abbreviated manual. (And AZ/EL pages aren't written yet) You should take a look at the actual DCS Hornet manual. AZ/EL starts on page 317. 322-323 is what you are looking for. Manual can be found on the ED webpage or to he Doc folder by aircraft in your game files. Mobius708
  11. This is no longer the case. SCS depress to IFF was a fictional implementation from the start. Now CIT IFF is SCS depress and SCS right. SCS depress works as a modifier. It does other things that aren't implemented yet. i.e. SCS depress + SCS aft cues TGT data format. Mobius708
  12. That was cited as a bug as part of the DCS Hornet's previous extreme detection range. Mobius708
  13. What do you mean by "allowed time?" Mobius708
  14. You can expand the SA format. TDC over track and press event mark on HOTAS. This toggles the expanded view. Or you hit step until the track is highlighted and press EXP. Mobius708
  15. It's not necessarily the doors closing but rather the gear hitting their stops inside. If you want loud sounds go to the MIG-21 lol. First take off the gear retraction scared me because I thought the "BANG, BANG, BANG" was a compressor stall... Mobius708
  16. Have you seen if WEP appears if you have multiple weapons? Makes sense to me that the UI would hide an option that doesn't apply at the time, i.e. needing to select the weapon type. Mobius708
  17. Why would it be a bug? The fact that it's audible? It sounds to be like "hear like in helmet" is unchecked. I'm sure IRL if you didn't have a helmet on you would hear something... Mobius708
  18. The command to the speed brake is off. Your telling the system to do nothing. IRL the speed brake switch is a three position return to center via spring. When not touched the switch is in the middle "off" position. You hold aft to extend and when you release, the brake will stay in position (below 400 knots and when clean) and the switch returns to off. Bump it forward and the brake retracts and switch returns to middle "off" position. Mobius708
  19. Wouldn't be able to transmit voice, just SPI broadcasts. A/A and A/G TXDSG positions on the throttle take over what could've been MIDS comm a and b. Mobius708
  20. I did forget about that one, makes sense. Mobius708
  21. Well until the very end the radar wasn't slaved to HMD LOS at all... You didn't look far enough away from the HUD is azimuth as you can see the HACQ boresight on the HUD, that's where the radar is looking. Mobius708
  22. For that last point you can not slew the mav if you have a TGT designated. Must undesignate then uncage. Mobius708
  23. By comparison I hate the Viper HOTAS. It's not really that context sensitive and just does less. I agree with the ICP-DED combo being clunky. Those radios are a *pain*. I do like some ICP keypad functions like pulling up the steerpoint page and easily accessible Mk point. I still question why they put stuff like stores data entry on the MFD OSBs.. especially with how far back they are, keypad is just better. The problem with the 16 is that it's a tiny airframe so they must have a lot of the avionics consolidated. For example they didn't have room for a select Jett selector in the cockpit so it had to be digital. But with that I question why SMS INV and WPN are all separate when the Hornet puts all three into the stores page... Overall I see the Viper as wasted potential with a lot of questionable design/avionics philosophy decisions. Mobius708
  24. With the special settings options "realistic TDC slew" checked it means you must hold TDC depress while you slew. Mobius708
  25. Yeah, I can't have my TDC slew be linear, it's about impossible to make fine adjustments. I made a custom curve where I have my precision in the middle and then have it spike to full rate at the edges. Helps that it's faster but not even close to what it should be. Mobius708
