I’m my experience with 2 rigs to run DCS in VR go for the 3090 … yes because of the vram. Keep in mine that DCS and it’s maps are growing by the year. Syria map is a vram hog. 2D no prob VR … is another story.

I never used it for the Throttle and stick and never had to calibrate the Hotas worked perfect right out the box. But the TPR rudders is a must to use.

I have always wanted to do a modifier button just to bind stuff like that but never got around to it. I mainly do BFM / dogfighting so I got out of touch with cold starts… so sad and terrible, old but not lazy.

With all that hard work go big ! But a sim pit and VR ? Might as well get the Varjo see through version … but then again that’s going huge. A sim pit and a Samsung super wide monitor would be a better match for a pit.

Never seen that myself I use no mods either. Maybe do a slow repair.

I’m now using the CM2 base with TM viper stick and Monstertech deck mounts Center stick with no extensions and absolutely love it that way. I mainly do BFM. I finally see what everyone’s talking about with the Virpil gear, it’s by far the best imho.

Do you all do the Express or Custom install. I have been doing the Custom Install for awhile now. I always tend to think it removes and does a clean install but I know it really doesn’t.

What kind of grease is Virpil using for the CM2 tension adjustment screws ? I’m noticing alittle play and clicking sound on the roll adjustment cylinder.

Hey Bossco82 I just gotta ask but did you mean GPU clock @ 1950 mhz ? I was just wondering if it’s a misspell or a down clock for some reason it being so low.

Yeah I’m one of them guys and sent 2 back. It’s a hit and miss I guess. The TM warthog/viper grip buttons are pure solid.

Yeah I love the TM viper grip and cold metal feeling it’s definitely one of the best grips out imo so solid I have mine mounted on a Virpil CM2 and it’s amazing ! You’ll like the RS viper and R3L base combo especially all the extra binding it offers.

The Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas has served me well and I will never not recommend it. I will probably use the throttle for many more years to come.

Also an rtx 2080 or equivalent is not gonna cut it in VR/DCS. Especially with a G2. That’s my experience with my other rig with a 2080Super. I needed more VR horsepower that would run high settings. My investment in a new rig with a 3090 made a huge impact along with prescription lenses for my G2.

I must have got lucky on my hardware because my VR is crisp and smooth and I don’t use any mods what so ever. Could it be better ? Well of course it can. I’m still eating beans and Winnie’s but I have absolutely no gripes about DCS and VR. none !

I’m new to Virpil and now using the Virpil CM2 base with the TM warthog grip and I’m now a believer in Virpil. I also have the Realsimulator R3L and RS viper grip as a side stick for the viper. But I can’t keep my hands off the Virpil… it’s so smooth and love the tension adjustments on the base. My TM warthog Hotas was and still a great product but the price doesn’t match these days. I bought the TMWH Hotas 2 years ago for under $400 and the price now days are really alittle high. So back to the main topic, your right TM is not the golden standard these days.

I do not recommend using a Thrustmaster warthog stick with the R3L because of the force sensing pressure it will buckle in time. But if you must for the time being this little gadget looks like it would be good.
