  1. If I understand that, the real aircraft have smoke generation system, it's just not implemented yet in your model?
  2. It's not the same system. Hornet uses JHMCS developed by Rockwell Collins and Elbit Systems F-35 uses HMDS developed by Rockwell Collins and Elbit Systems A-10C uses HMCS "Scorpion" developed by Thales
  3. Does this aircraft have some kind of smoke generation system or ability to carry smoke pods? Do you have intention to release a paintkit? Really nice job! Thank you very much!
  4. And why do you care whether I want APKWS available for a platform I bought license for? It's not like you're losing something in that process. You see, that's the real problem behind all this APKWS nonsense: I do not prefer the same things you do prefer.
  5. That doesn't make any sense. Boeing is not selling or developing that device. Why would A-10C have overlay for carrier on HMCS?
  6. I've just reacted to quote " the tech is coming to Airliners soon." which is not true. It's available for use in airliners for decades. Some airlines find it cost effective to install HUD because low visibility automatic approach and landing certifications for aircraft and crews are expensive to obtain and maintain. It's also the only option for aircraft that do not have autoland capability (a lot of regional and business jets and turboprops). And of course, every HUD I've seen so far has runway overlay function. I believe HMCS is developed by Thales (renown in aerospace industry), and they've started to offer head mounted displays for general aviation. Basically, flying my 1970s Cessna 172, I can use same technology military pilots use in A-10C. The question is, have USAF decided to enable that function and as you've said, there's no evidence they have it enabled.
  7. I do not know whether A-10C has runway overlay on hud, but it's really nothing fancy. Space Shuttle had it, Boing and Airbus airliners have it, Biz jets have it. Really old technology.
  8. Can't he just build new missile with EFM api?
  9. It's better to ask this question in the "Mods and Apps" section of the forum.
  10. I don't like it. In previous versions it was easy to just search via right line and pick number of the bomb or missile you need. Additionally, opening the menu freezes DCS for a second which is very unpleasant. I would like old menu as an option.
  11. At realistic FOV, FLOLS is quite readable. The problem is the game is unplayable at realistic FOV because of lack of peripheral vision.
  12. Fortunately, contrast based system is "not that hard" to implement so I'm confident we will have it in the future. Radar is different beast, we are stuck with what we have right now for years.
  13. Thanks. It seems our demo team will need to transfer to some other aircraft. We like MB339 but it's not an option anymore.
  14. Interesting. I've installed 466.11 today and lost only 2 frames compared to an old one (cannot remember version number, but it was not 461.72). I will try 461.72. Not too optimistic though, they usually tweak them for newest hardware. For old hardware it might be the best to keep old drivers.
  15. Maybe try dual boot. I know it's pita, but I do not see an other way.
  16. I believe there's no tracking based on contrast in the game. Tracking mode is probably hardcoded to snap on object if inside x range * some multipliers or something similar.
  17. Have you tested the game at minimum system specifications? I mean, my PC is struggling to run the game at almost lowest graphic settings; can it even work at GTX760 and Core i3? GTX970 is easily 100% more powerful than GTX760. Not to mention i3 @ 2.8GHz vs i5 @ 4.5Ghz
  18. All cockpits are designed to be used with shadows ON. Without shadows, panel labels are unreadable, panels are too bright... it's unplayable that way. Even with MSAA OFF and shadows OFF, I still have 15% fps lost compared to pre 2.7 (2.5.6 with MSAA ON and shadows ON) And all of that still doesn't explain why there is 30% fps loss after the update, especially when it was advertised as "no significant performance hit".
  19. Tnx for effort. I believe you have all my settings in log file, but I guess image is more readable. It's already pretty low, I do not think it can go lower without sacrificing gameplay.
  20. Well, I'll provide you one, but I still do not see how it's useful. It will use your hardware to run the track, and you will get performance you usually get when you fly. f-15c 27.trk
  21. Track replay will prove you nothing, I'm comparing old version with new version. It's not like I have fps drops during a flight. It's overall fps decrease. System spec: i5-3570k @4.5GHz, GTX970, 16GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz, 1440p 16:9 display, SSD SATA 6Gb/s. ~30% fps decrease consistent between all modules. Log is attached, you have graphic settings there. No mods. Btw, I installed newest Nvidia drivers (gaming, not studio version). Got 1-2fps less and longer loadings than with old ones. Hilarious. Win 10 64bit up to date as I know (cannot turn off updates) dcs.log
  22. No. It says in manual that the feature is not functional. It should provide you basic directional finding if you set frequency and set radio in DF mode, but it's not modeled.
  23. Not really, I've tested with few games and it turned out to be true.
  24. If you have all modules then Yes it is.
