It does. You can fly older airframe on newer map, but you should not be able to fly newer aircraft on older map. That's some serious bending of physics laws.

Well, it's not that F-16 A-G is completely broken, it just has some quirks here and there that makes life more miserable. Just be aware that SPI might be not in the place you are expecting to be and correct it if necessary. Yea, it disturbs workflow, but not a big deal.

IMO, 1. They can adopt user models if models are high quality and performance, come with source files and user is willing to give up all rights. That way future support of the asset is secured. or 2. They can implement MP mods where clients would (temporarily or permanently) download server mods configuration. It can even be in some semi-official way where only approved mods stored at ED servers can be downloaded to ensure minimum quality.

Why would you not fly standard rate turns? That gives you 4 minutes of straight legs to work out your timing, and you can even shorten them to 3, 2, 1 minute or do full circle if you need to.

GB is or was Hornet pilot participating on this forum. Keep in mind that rule of thumbs mentioned are not so precise at speeds Hornet and Tomcat are holding. FAA recommends turns up to 30 degrees, ICAO to 25 degrees, so you would fly that value. Additionally, they do not care what you do as long as you maintain altitude and stay inside protected area. Standard racetrack pattern and standard entries are recommended though, and they are considered a good airmanship.

I'm not sure how dcs engine handles blue channel, but it doesn't really matter. Anyway, I agree with OP, lot of DCS textures contain additional channel of data that serves no purpose no matter how it's being compressed, and while we can fix it locally, IC makes life more difficult. Even worse, dds alpha channel cannot be sampled into rgb compression, it require its own set of data, so you end up with double bpp. And please, please, please, do not ever use .jpg for textures.
