That's an assumption, and anyone can make an assumption, I think odds would be in favor of choice, and it would be enabled. But nevertheless it is not a bad idea to have it as an option.
-
And that's completely fine, that's why it would be optional for mission creators to choose if they want to allow it or not.
-
Yes exactly that, have the option to choose hot or cold but only if mission designers assign that option, if they want hot or cold they are still able to set it like that. For example there are some MP servers with really good missions that are hot starts and I like to cold start the plane. Another example is a cold start server but if you get shot down many times cold starting a plane can get tiresome, so you could cold start once and later on do hot starts etc...

Option to choose hot or cold start before the mission or when picking a slot in MP server.

investigating Able to slew sensors even if not displayed. SOI logic.

Thanks, but we still don't have it reported, dunno if it should be like this or not, something to investigate. Maybe @BIGNEWY can give us a verdict -

investigating Able to slew sensors even if not displayed. SOI logic.

Does this mean our implementation is wrong? Cause I can move TGP in the background, not selected on any MFD. -
what era should Eagle focus on when developing AI assets?

I don't se Middle - Middle cold war there, and what about Late - Middle cold war, and Middle to Late Vietnam war era, and Past Late Cold Vietnam era -
investigating Able to slew sensors even if not displayed. SOI logic.
Furiz replied to Furiz's topic in Bugs and Problems
Imagine for example you are in AG mode, and on the left MFG you have FCR - HAD - TGP on your MFD for quick selection, so TGP is SOI and you switch SOI to HUD with DMS Up, then DMS Left and you get HAD on your MFD, now DMS down and your HAD will become SOI. But when you DMS Left again your FCR wont become SOI, HAD will remain SOI. Why would you switch to FCR anyway if you aren't planing to use it. So now when you have switched to the FCR with DMS Left, you have to DMS Down again to make it SOI and you can work with it. If you DMS Left again to get to the TGP you have to DMS Down again to make it SOI and you can work with it. I take it manufacturer wanted only DMS UP or DMS Down to assign SOI, makes sense. My only concern is that you can move sensors while they are not displayed on any of the MFDs. -

Yes I'd like this -

Furiz replied to Furiz's topic in Bugs and Problems
That's exactly why I'm asking this, I know how to work with it, but it stays selected in the background, and I don't know if this is like it is in real jet or something that needs to be corrected. -
Currently if TGP is SOI and MFD page is switched to lets say HAD page, the TGP stays SOI and can be moved around in the background, same happens with other sesors, such as FCR AA and FCR AG, HAD etc. Should sensor SOI be switched as the MFD page / MFD is switched?, or should it be deselected, so it can't be controlled in the background? F-16 SOI question .trk

Enforced Graphics settings for Multiplayer
Furiz replied to Mr_Blastman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
No, you got it all wrong, its not about their house their rules, no1 is breaking their rules. Behaviour rules are one thing, behaviour can be adjusted by everyone, its that easy. Don't team kill on my server - done. No swearing - done. But buy 1000€ graphics card is not done easy or even possible at all for everyone. There are huge differences in income around the world and computer parts prices are nearly the same globally. So don't try to make this the same as behaviour rules, cause its not the same. -
Enforced Graphics settings for Multiplayer

Bottom line is that any kind of enforcing will leave some people out, that's not what we want. After all they are not cheating and anyone can set any graphic setting they want. -

One more of many misconceptions, It is not cheat, it is graphic setting, The other misconception you have I'm 100% sure, is that you are the best pilot out there and you are in wonder how on earth you got shot down so you found what you think is an issue and now you are on it, cause there is no way that you got shot down, after all you are the best. Then to counter that you want to enforce rules on everybody. Cause no one can beat the best pilot. Other sim pilots out here, when they get shot down, they start from themselves asking why I got shot down and how I can do better. That's what you need to do and not this, asking for limitations. Humility is a virtue that can get you long way. -
Enforced Graphics settings for Multiplayer
Furiz replied to Mr_Blastman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
It really shouldn't. That's not true, I'm sure everyone is looking forward to realistic clouds. The truth is only you are asking for this and absolutely no one else. Have you even thought this through? How would you enforce it? Upon clicking join - list the graphic setting of a server? cause players should know what they are joining right. Then what if players cant handle some setting, or should we all play at 4k? or 2k? with MSAA? or with SSAA? whatever the admin wants right? what if their computers cant handle that, they are then unable to play on that server, then what happens is that you are limiting the player base. That's why those settings are never limited in any other game, they are all free to choose their own settings on any tournament. -
Enforced Graphics settings for Multiplayer

You have the same options as he does, so turn on the light? -
If your internal tanks are at around 2500lbs or lower it will fill up your ext tanks to full, its just simple mathematics after all;P If you have 2x bags on wings, the refuel rate in relation to internal tank is 1:2 to each ext tank, so if you fill 100lbs to internal tank, 50lbs will be filled to each of the ext tanks.
-
I don't think they would even consider F1 version since it was AA only, maybe for starters like Eurofighter is gonna be AA and then later upgrade to AG, AG capability comes with F2 standard.

Enforced Graphics settings for Multiplayer
Furiz replied to Mr_Blastman's topic in DCS Core Wish List
And there is your misconception, ED is not aiming for competitive enviroment. You got shot down, but instead of using those setting to your advantage you want to enforce settings on people. Enforcing stuff on people will just make them go away, just like they go away from those nice countries that like to enforce stuff on people. -
I don't fly WW2 planes but checking the prices of those they are 50$, so on sale if 50%? that's 25$, really not that much for full fidelity plane. And FC3 plane is 15$ low fidelity etc. So if you wait for a sale its really not not much of a difference

Gatekeeping? Imagine they do this for him, they make the change, then some other guy steps in says he is navy pilot and its not like that and they need to change, so they change it again, then few months later some other "navy pilot" steps in and says ... you see where this is going? AAR is not science fiction, it not something impossible to do, it requires practice, some need to practice more some need less practice but we all need to practice it. Thousands of pilots in real life did it (with access to AAR ofc), and thousands of sim pilots did too, so keep practicing. And that aid would not help anyone really, cause people that ask for it would not stop using it, so essentially they are asking for aid to help them AAR that would never get turned off cause that aid wont help them get precision needed to AAR, cause obviously with the aid they don't need to be precise so they don't practice it properly, and as soon as they turn it off they would not be able to make it. So in the end the aid you are asking for becomes a feature you'll be using on and on and this sim, by introducing such aids, bit by bit becomes more and more arcade game rather than simulator.

If you are on Steam it wont work, only Standalone version has trials. Once every six months per aircraft. And some planes are not available on trial yet, mostly new ones. It's up to the developer to put them on trial.
