Yeah, that's why our community is kind of divided to simmers older people and people that pvp / airquake / hot start etc which are I guess mostly younger population.

need track replay F-16C Autopilot not functioning in MT
Furiz replied to 303_Vins's topic in Bugs and Problems
Check Trim/AP Disc switch, it has to be in NORM position, otherwise AP is disconnected and it won't work. -
I can agree it's annoying when switching A6 to A3 etc, but don't have any reference for now. I'll try to dig in some vids but they need specifics...

Can you show us the real deal?

reported earlier Lights go through fuselage on Persian Gulf
Furiz replied to Furiz's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey @Lord Vader, I have no mods installed at all, no reshade or any aircraft mod, I just don't use them. DCS is repaired and cleaned up after every patch. Here are my settings: Two more shots, Al Dhafra -

Yes, ED said they are talking to him so that's the result, I guess this shows ED agrees that drag from pylons need to be adjusted.

The end part, mentioning drag of the pylons.

Do you want DCS to change to subscription based payment model
Furiz replied to skywalker22's topic in DCS Core Wish List
And that's where this discussion should end, since you didn't even state your financial experience in running these kind of companies. So I don't really see why should anyone take your advice. I'm no finance expert but I know from my gaming experience that many game tripple A companies tried subscription model and failed to oblivion, only few survived cause they had really big player base, even then they went free after having years of subscription model. So please no subscription. -
Exactly not about thrust alone, set our F-16 with 2 bags, 4 bombs at 30k alt , thrust at mil power and observe, should that really be happening?
-
not planned Is ED still set on not allowing aircraft to carry APKWS?
Furiz replied to tora117's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Off course its not, there is only so much they can do, but I'd like to stay as realistic as it can. I'd love to see SDBs and AWPKS on our Viper too, maybe with a tape upgrade in the future who knows. -
I'd be happy if you revisit F-16 losing speed at mil power at high altitudes, with bags compared to hornet which gains speed in same settings. F-16 losing airspeed .trk Also SOI logic from this thread:
-
What I meant to say is that 90% the consumer sticks have something in common, they are not force sensing sticks, those are normal computer sticks. I didn't think you gonna compensate for every possible stick, that is indeed impossible. But since 90% (guessing) has normal sticks it would be great if ED would take that into account, so in the end we get the same effect and precision.

And yet women who don't pump quite a bit of iron at the gym or don't have that kind of muscle structure can fly F-16. You telling me that Aimee pumps quite a bit of iron in the gym so she can fly demo Viper, I'm not saying she is not in shape, just saying that your story doesn't hold water. As you said well I'm not, and I can tell you that I can move that stick, cause it's not designed for people with godlike strenght, you have to be in shape and that's it. So please don't make a myth about it. And that's what ED needs to compensate for, they are making a product for consumers which 90% or more have normal computer sticks, not for that 5% that have force sensing sticks. The topic is about f-16.
-
Just for comparison, F-16 currently at mil power loses airspeed with 2 bags 2 bombs pylons at 30k, and its slowing down constantly, while Hornet speed is increasing with same loadout, not forever off course, it stops at some point. Both starting at mach 0.77. Viper - F-16 losing airspeed .trk Hornet - F-18 increasing airspeed .trk P.S. imo this should have not been moved to chit chat, should have stayed in F-16 forum section.

He did a nice review, Air to Air refueling not the first real life pilot that said AAR is easier in real life than in DCS. I guess DCS has a problem with precision flight in general, as soon as you have to precise like AAR or hover in the Apache you are all over the place. For heavy piece of equipment like a jet or a attack heli (they weight a couple of tons after all) it shouldn't act like a feather.

Bombs clipping through (Syria-) terrain and exploding below the ground (MT)
Furiz replied to chaos's topic in Weapon Bugs
Hi, First, you reported a bug on F-16 Bugs Section forum for CBU-97(which is a bomb), clipping through ground in Syria (which is a terrain) Then you set 100FT for Burst Altitude, don't know if you are familiar with what that means. So Height of Function (HoF), which determines at which height the bomblets will release. It impacts area spread and accuracy. So the higher alt they burst from the more are they will cover. BA is best to leave as it is set by default. If set to burst from 100FT I don't know if they manage to open their parachutes even. I suggest reading on the ED F-16C manual or F-16C Chuck's Guide. TBH did not use them recently but Ill try it out next time I'm in game. -
I think it was mentioned in patch notes, that there are 2 .exe files one for normal and other for MT version.
-
It wont, cause with it you still don't have to hold formation which means you are not practicing precision flight which means when you turn AAR assist off you will be back at the beginning cause all that time you had it on you didn't practice your precision. They have to do it now too. Aren't they now? Same as previous one. See, that is not making someone learn precision flying with tanker, so how will someone then do it without that assist? When he magically gets fuel in, he just needs to come close and that's it, well unlimited fuel makes no difference. you just proved my point thanks.
-
They can off course play, they can even AAR if they put in some time and practice Exactly, what I'm saying all the time, practice and you can do it, just like riding a bike or driving a car.
-
No it doesn't have those kind of assist like AAR assist would be. Help in learning something, yea off course, it will guide you through it but it wont hold your hand doing it. AAR assist really doesn't fit with this sim. This is true, I'm saying that all this time but they are lazy and spoiled and don't want to put any effort in it, they want to be able to do it instantly, it doesn't work that way. I have never seen any game that has assists like what they are asking for, basically they want to have auto pilot for AAR, real jets don't have it.
