JAS 39C Gripen Community Mod v.1.8.5 Download : https://github.com/whisky-actual/Community-JAS-39-C Discord Channel YouTube Channel Our team is passionate about aviation and DCS, and we wanted to bring the JAS-39 Gripen to the simulator. We started working on the mod in February 2021, and in a short amount of time, we achieved a basic FC3 module. We have put a lot of effort into the mod and have added several features to enhance the user experience. Our main focus has been on creating an authentic and immersive cockpit that accurately represents the Gripen's instruments and controls. We have also added unique weapons and made modifications to the SFM to make it as realistic as possible, taking feedback from Gripen SMEs into consideration. We are grateful to the Community A-4E-C team, Grinnelli, Freebird, Gonzalodesanta, Megalax, Isak, 313_Paegas, Krieger, and VSN Team for their support and contributions. Without their help, this project would not have been possible. We are excited to share our mod with the DCS community and welcome anyone who shares our passion to join us on Discord to learn more about the project. Yes, but no promises since we are still exploring the limits of development without the SDK. Q: Do we need a test pilot? Not currently, I will post here and in the discord closer to release. Q: Do we plan to have a D model (two-seaters)? Yes, but no plans for the 2nd seat to be active. Q: Do you have a release date yet? 6/6/2021. Q: Will the JAS39 mod pass IC? Yes, but a public server will need to have the same version for it to work properly.

Howdy, I have been working on making my first mod for DCS for the last 2 weeks, decided to go with the Nike Hercules launcher and Missile. So far I have been able to create the Missile and Launcher model within blender with animations on the launcher that works (roughly) and have been able to get those models exported in EDM format and working in game replacing the SA-2 models. I then started to work on creating the custom mod folder for my mod and getting the lua files set up working with other existing sam mods and their lua codes. All the lua code just to get it to run is done and in the mod folder but I am stuck at the game not wanting to launch if the mod is in the mod folder so somewhere the code is broke and I have not been able to get any help from the DCS forms or on modding discords. Because of that, I am releasing my models, blender files and broke mod file for anyone to work on and play around with. It's pretty basic but the missile still looks cool in game. Please let me know if you decide to work on it and get it working or are able to help me with the coding issue. Thanks! Nike Hurcules Mod BROKE.rar

The Iconic Talon Veco Simulations is happy to announce our first public community mod for DCS World: the T-38A Talon. The T-38A Talon is a two-seat supersonic jet trainer powered by two J85 turbojet engines. Entering service in 1961, it was the world's first jet trainer to exceed Mach 1. This revolutionised pilot training with its high performance, endurance, and safety. Extensively used by the U.S. Air Force and other NATO allies, it has trained more than 72,000 pilots since its inception. Even today, over 65 years after its first flight, the T-38 remains a key part of NATO fighter pilot training for many nations. The T-38A will be released as a free standalone full-fidelity community mod with a clickable multi-crew cockpit, highly-detailed 3D model and textures, custom-built external flight model (EFM) and stand-alone avionics. 3D Model The creation of the 3D model began with a simple external design and evolved into a year-and-a-half-long project fueled by precision and dedication to capturing the iconic shape of the T-38A. Our focus on VR optimization and accuracy led us to extensively overhaul the external model and revise the cockpit design three times since 2022, ensuring every detail meets our high standards. Extensive research was crucial in this journey. We gathered hundreds of high-resolution photos, both first-hand and second-hand, of the T-38A and its T-38M counterpart. Using photogrammetry, we meticulously captured the most complex shapes, ensuring no detail was overlooked. To bring the model to life, we are utilizing PBR textures and have hand-painted hundreds of bolts, ensuring an accurate and vibrant representation of the aircraft. This attention to detail not only enhances the realism of the model but also adds a dynamic and immersive quality that makes the aircraft feel truly alive. We have a skilled team of well-known 2d artists and livery creators - Roughmaster, Wolfthrower, Crash, Aqil, and Fistick - dedicated to crafting a diverse range of liveries for the initial release. These liveries represent various operators throughout the aircraft's extensive operational history. Each livery is detailed with unique weathering effects specifically crafted by Roughmaster to reflect the wear and tear experienced by these aircraft over time. Furthermore, we are developing templates with multiple levels of wear-and-tear to include in the livery painting kit. This will allow the community to select their preferred starting point when creating their own liveries, providing flexibility and creative freedom for everyone. External Flight Model (EFM) Development of the EFM started in 2022 and it is responsible for the simulation of the flight dynamic model, engine model and aircraft systems. The flight dynamics of the T-38A are defined by over 25 stability and control derivatives, considering non-linear effects of angle of attack and Mach. The coefficients were derived from wind tunnel tests, empirical estimations and CFD analysis - and subsequently verified against U.S. Air Force flight tests. It features accurate stall characteristics, yaw and pitch dampers, and authentic flight control deflection limits and is continuously refined through extensive flight testing by the Virtual Turkish Stars. The J85 engine simulation uses an analytical model based on a NASA design, providing detailed engine parameters influenced by environmental conditions, with features like afterburner, cold start, and compressor stall accurately represented. The system model employs a "divide and conquer" approach, simulating each component independently, covering electric, fuel, and hydraulic systems on a near-study level, ensuring an honest representation of the aircraft's operational procedures. Standalone Avionic The T-38A features a classic steam gauge cockpit and is fully equipped for instrument flight training. Community mods for DCS typically have limitations regarding the avionic capabilities, as they don't have access to the Software Development Kit (SDK) that is used by 3rd party developers. However, we have carefully chosen an authentic 1970s avionic configuration that allows us to fully implement every functionality, without the need to own any other module and - equally important - without sacrificing our self-imposed level of fidelity. This configuration includes: A fully functional UHF radio for radio communication with ATC and even other players via voice chat. Intercom for communication between the pilot in the front seat and the instructor in the back seat via voice chat. TACAN for range and bearing information to ground beacons, taking into account distance and line-of-sight limitations. ILS for vertical and horizontal guidance during instrument approach, including marker beacon. A mechanical Flight Director System provides the steering cues to follow the desired flight path. Our vision is to provide an unforgettable experience that truly represents what it's like to be in the seats of the T-38A Talon, creating a digital representation that goes beyond what you see on the screen. This project represents a culmination of extensive research, meticulous craftsmanship, and a deep appreciation for the historical significance of this iconic trainer. We invite you to join our journey and experience the T-38A Talon in unparalleled detail. I know DCS is primarily a flight simulator, but I love playing with Combined Arms, especially online with friends. The best moments we have are when one or two players are flying attack aircraft while the rest of us are driving on the ground, fighting our way through and calling for air support. This experience gave me an idea—a suggestion that could potentially bring more new players to DCS! Buying a HOTAS is expensive for many potential newcomers, but everyone already has a mouse and keyboard. I’d even bet that most people are already familiar with controlling vehicles using them. My suggestion is simple: Add an American Humvee and a Russian Tigr as free ground units. Imagine this scenario: A new DCS player is enjoying their time flying an A-10 or has just learned how to fly the Su-25T with their new HOTAS. Now, they’re trying to convince their friends to give DCS a shot. However, there’s resistance because their friends don’t even own a basic joystick, let alone a HOTAS. But now, those friends have the option to play as a Humvee or Tigr driver. The player with the plane can create missions where ground units have to survive a battlefield or navigate through dangerous terrain. Their non-flying friends can hop in and play with ease using just a keyboard and mouse while experiencing the incredible scale of DCS. In this scenario, they see their friend flying overhead, dropping bombs, helping them survive, and performing thrilling gun runs dangerously close to the action. What will these players think? What will they want to do next? You guessed it — they’ll want to try flying the Su-25T or even go all in and purchase an A-10, F-16, F-18, or another aircraft module. I believe DCS World has immense, untapped potential for gameplay with ground units. Adding free, accessible ground vehicles for new players to explore could make DCS far less intimidating for beginners. Once they’re hooked on the immersive experience, they’ll naturally want to take to the skies in an aircraft. So that’s my suggestion. What do you think?

Comienzo a hacerla. GRACIAS!!!!

Hello After some time working in Blender, I have a decent version of a SU 75 checkmate. No textures. I think it would be worthy of creating a mod for DCS, but I don't master that subject. Would someone take care of that aspect? It would probably be with a cabin that is not yours, at least at this time. I start to do it. Still, I think it's worth it to be able to fly it now, waiting for its own cabin. Any volunteer to deploy the plane to DCS? Oh yes! I want everyone who wants to enjoy the project, so it has to be an open mod for the rest of the pilots. THANK YOU!!!!

Hello, so I'm having this issue now and note I was not having it before the latest update, through many different tests with different aircraft, all having the same issue. When I want to watch replays, such as doing an airshow for example, when I go into F11 or even LCtrl+F11 free view, the padlock will either not lock onto the aircraft or it will lock onto an ambiguous space way Infront of the aircraft that is not even an object, it's like it locks onto the aircraft but forces the camera way out front it making the plane completely unviewable. Has anyone else have or had this issue that knows how to fix it?

Here's the app: https://www.baremetalsoft.com/baretail/ I didn't write this app nor do I get any benefits from promoting it, just that I don't think many are aware of it and it's usefulness. What this app allows is a live, realtime view of the dcs.log as it's being appended to from DCS and your scripts. The killer feature however is that you can use the HIGHLIGHT system to give colours to key phrases or words so they stand out. Here's a screenshot of how I've set mine up. My Superscript (currently called 'DCSTLC') is broken down into atomic 'Modules' that have one singular function, and each module has it's own three letter name. For each of these names (which I log out to dcs.log with) BARETAIL can read the log entry and if it finds a pattern match it will highlight that line accordingly. This way, the bits you're interested in don't get lost in the sea of other log messages. Hope this helps!
