That is because the original information is outdated. A post made at a later date confirmed they were going to add in more improvements and increase the price to $50, although those who had already bought it would get the $40 price honored. I imagine it would have been a PR nightmare if they started cancelling orders or charging people an additional $10. :)

 

It is not a huge deal, although I would have purchased FC3 for $50 if that was the asking price. I simply bought it the day (or a few days after) it was put up for sale. If the early adopters of FC3 can get this discount that would be great. Just check the date of the order and the update announcement; if the order was placed before then allow those orders to apply for a discount. If ED won't do this then it is not a huge loss. I did buy LOMAC, Flaming Cliffs Gold, Flaming Cliffs 2 and Flaming Cliffs 3 right after they were all released. I think that should count for something. :D

I bought FC3 within 2 days of it released, I got the full discount for it.

It works but you don't get an extra bonus if you have bought 2 versions of one module, you only get for the first. But that bonus was nice ED!

Since you can only use your 'bonus' to get a maximum of a twenty percent discount on a single product, it should not have a time limit. Due to the discount limitation, it may be 15 years before ED sells enough new products for some, like myself with $62, to use their entire bonus.

It is not stated, but evidence from users who have made purchases indicates that the limit exists.

@Cichlidfan Yes, you have spotted an error in the implementation of the bonussystem, I believe. At least it should be reported as an error.

 

*Indeed not clearly stated that customers are restricted in using their "bonusfunds" as it is experienced now, in the statement from Wags.

 

One other thing, I'm unable to verify now is:

 

That using the maximum 20% (from ordervalue) from your bonusfunds now on a newly order with 2 or more (first time purchases, also fullpriced modules) will make this a discounted order. And therefor the line dissapears that you are eligible for 25% or more credited to your bonuswallet. So you use 20% now, but you will not receive the 25% or more bonusfunds?

 

So basically collecting bonusfunds is rewarded, but spending is under parental control ^^ I'm curious if it really meant to be like this.

 

Anyway it's a great idea to reward loyal customers with a special discount.

Just wish it can be confirmed if there is something to be fixed.

Math is perhaps not my strongest skill, but ... isn't this bonus system that way that we more or less never can spend all of the bonus? We will get 20 % bonus as minimum per purchase, but can spend the savings only up to a max. of 20 % ...

 

It depends ofc on the actual price, but given that the price for each product is - very roughly - the same, we will always gain more bonus than we will be able to spend?

 

Example:

new customer:

buys the Huey for 50 $, gets 20% = +10 $ bonus

buys Mi-8 for 50 $, gets 25% = +12,50 $ bonus, spends -10 $ of his bonus

buys FC3 for 50 $, gets 30 % = +15 $ bonus, spends -10 $ of his bonus

bonus account at the end: +17,50 $

 

Where am I wrong? :o)

Just a guess here, but I would imagine that if you make a purchase using bonus points then you did not pay full price and do not get additional bonus points.

I have $40 worth from previous purchases. I hope it's just me being a dumbass but how do i claim it? I want to buy the Mi-8 but can't see how i can use the bonus on that.

I purchased FC3 only because I had a coupon for 70% off and $28 bonus credit in my account silly me thought that after using the 70% off coupon that I could pay the rest using some of my $28 bonus credit I was wrong.

 

I could only use something like $4 of my bonus credit so had to reach for the debit card for the remaining small payment.

 

Am fine with that as got a good deal just wish I had known that before, I went to purchase FC3 as might have left it.
