Okay, you're right, and I misspoke. Allow me to rephrase: It saw extremely limited use, and any combat it saw is pure speculation. So, I'd prefer the Tempest over it for the same reasons as I would with the Meteor. Nothing against including it necessarily, just that there could be better uses of time.

Then again, this is a "wishlist" thread... pardon my pickiness. :music_whistling:

Hmmm, with the news of improvements to ground combat, how about a DCS level Tiger II.

Of course that also means I hope for Combined Arms WWII as well ;)

...and a Panther as well! We will also need the Hs-129B-2 and F4U Corsair (all versions) as well.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

Hello!

If we think how the DCS WW2 would be more playable I have few details which should be change.

First in the original DCS when you fly the P51 the biggest problem is a DOT range. It have to be 20 to 25 km like CloD has.

Second German (or a blue side) need to a good Jabo plane for example Fw 190 A6 or A8 would be very useful. After that both side would have good jabo planes to attack against enemy.

After these improvements we can start to think new planes or new maps.....

I'm with you! I'd really like to see an improvement in spotting contacts over DCS World.

Il-2/Clod draws a 4-pixel dot to represent an aircraft at long range, so it is basically an icon. It has the unfortunate consequence of yielding very different results depending on monitor resolution. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114286

Another remedy is "smart scaling" from Falcon 4 and BoB2 WoV. Long distance contacts are rendered larger than their true size in your field of view. I prefer it to the 4-pixel icon in Il-2/Clod.

Yes, would be cool to have some great tanks, but not only the Tiger II, Sherman would be nice and so on.

Count on me:thumbup:

Airplanes, oh there are many i would like to see. Here are only a few. After the B-17G (late model) P-38L, B-25J with 8 guns in the nose, carrier aircraft and a Do 335 would be nice too. Spit oh yes, Mk 14c please or the Il-2m3.

+1

There is already module, why not expand it to ww2 scenario. Excellent idea. Makes missions mode dynamic, etc.

+ ground module would be what they tried to do with CLOD.

How about a C-47? Flying paratroopers over Normandy to the jump zone. Sounds pretty awesome to me.
I think I suggested this at least once. DCS needs more flyable transports. It would look nice with civilian skins too.

My short wishlist:

-"Smart scaling" like Falcon4 so that aircraft do not disappear at short range.

-:

Ditto!

Plus one from related feature fromme. Only one:

In visuals always prefer realism over the darn eye candy.

So no overuse of bloom, hdr, fresnel etc. Physics-based animations (rocket smoke pushes the rocket; it does not drag behind it).

So far no one has achieved it. At least not in avia sims. Hollywood burden and past gaming experience are hard to overcome apparently.

Ok, while we're at it I'll make some wishes myself, although I admit some are more realistic than others.

What about ground crews? I love DCS, but the airports are so sterile. Maybe it is possible to have some sort of animated guy standing around waving me to my parking spot? Or a crew chief that gives a salute and then steps away from the plane before disappearing, whatever.

Or some trucks similar to civil traffic, just driving around the airport. Anything that helps to make it seem alive.

Also the P-38 (any version). Just a beautiful plane. But I already said that somewhere else.

And yes, WWII Combined Arms. Without ground vehicles the module is "DCS: Oldtimer flying" and while that is ok I'd prefer a fully functional WWII module for DCS, and that includes CA.

And above all of them: A better ATC and ground control. The one we have sucks. FSX and BMS suck as well, but not that hard. I'd be happy with something similar in DCS.

Mossie and Tempest : the fastest aircraft in the whole array of WW2 planes for 3 years (or is it 4?) and a serious ground strafer that could at the same time dogfight 190s and 109s on almost equal terms (sorry P47 and IL-2 lovers).

The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life to experience all three at the same time.

I'd dunno if it's come up already but a dynamic campaign generator for single and multiplayer would be fantastic.

I first really got hooked on flight simming playing dynamic campaigns (in old IL2). It's exciting/interesting to have missions generated on your success/failure and even better if players can participate together on such campaigns. Even the best linear campaigns have limited repeated play and having a dynamic generator that allows the initial variables to be adjusted is the gift that keeps on giving. It's great for new players or those that aren't gifted in mission building. Also viewing is very popular on youtube etc and I ended up re-buying and re-visiting old IL-2 after watching very popular play-thoughs of dynamic campaigns - they add extra spice for the player which in turn also makes for more interesting viewing and can help advertise a sim. These videos are still watched and it seems there is a desire out there for this to feature again in a modern sim. Obviously this very much falls under the fantasy future content wish because I know building such a generator is not easy.
