Confirmed, and fixed. The animation argument was flipped by mistake and we missed it. Thank you!

Gear braking on closing is also now implemented.

I never paid attention to these doors on MiG-21's before, but after watching a number of videos of 21s on the ground, it looks like the door position on your excellent model has a bug.

From the videos, the purpose of the doors seems to be to allow sufficient airflow into the engine in conditions when ram air pressure into the main intake is low. The doors seem to follow these basic rules:

1. If the engine is off, the doors are closed.

2. If the engine is on, and the plane is not moving, the doors are open.

3. If the engine is on, and the plane is moving quickly, the doors are closed.

If you looks at the following pictures of 21s, you can see the door position in shutdown 21s, as well as 21s that are taxiing:

Looks like he already made the fix :)

See previous page. :)

The doors are open/closed based on various factors; dynamic pressure/airspeed, AoA, AoS, CONUS and snap open or close based on these variables.

They are free hanging.

We had the animation flipped by mistake.

Not until this...

1.2.9 will include only a few fixes and Sabre.

Initially 1.2.9 not planned, but due to the incompleteness of the new renderer in 1.3.0 Sabre decided to release the old render, ie under 1.2.9.

EDIT: I think this answers the question about the mig though...

.. And Mig-21?

No.

I'm hope the release will focus on releasing some maps!

If new aircraft are introduced that will be great also. :)

Let's see whether EDGE can meet us as the release of 190.

I'm sorry, but where did anybody say 1.3.0 was pushed back?

It's just speculation, but you can see where it's coming from:

ED have said EDGE will be 1.3.0. Sabre screenshots are all EDGE ones, so there was an expectation (not a promise) Sabre+EDGE would be 1.3.0 and land in July.

The translated quote from Chizh says we're getting the Sabre with 1.2.9 and not EDGE as it's not ready.

There's been no promises the Dora will launch with EDGE, and there's also been nothing said about that not coming in August, which means it's entirely possible that could be released under 1.2.9.1.

That may mean 1.3.0 is getting pushed back, or it could mean it's 98% complete and just missed the current feature lock, so is on track for August.

So I think this is probably a good time for the LS folks to chime in and let us know where they fit into all this, I mean, I don't know if this changes anything on their end but perhaps some clarification about LS's plans at this point would be good.

gimme gimme 1.2.9 and the Sabre then. I'm ready!!!

For me I want the same thing like you, 1.2.9 and the F-86, for the 1.3.0 + the Mig21. It's good for me.

Thanks, Skull.

=) Yep! I'll take whatever I can at this point. I've been patiently waiting for so long. I'm ready to spew digital cash forth upon the developers.

I think it is still a bit early to start talking about the MiG not coming out in 1.2.9, a lot can be lost in translation and it could have meant that it simply won't be out when 1.2.9 releases.

To be blunt, I have yet to see anything indicating that we will be waiting for EDGE to come before the MiG can come out.

As I said before, a official word from Leatherneck about this might help a great deal in curbing the speculation.

If you go to ED site and look at the Minimum System Requirements of DCS Dora that will be released in August and is available now for pre purchase you will see that it requires DirectX11 which means it is based on the new engine. I have a feeling that we won't see Mig before Dora is released and I'm happy about it as they still need to update sound effects and I think it is crucial. No realistic sounds no Mig for me.

Here we go again, wild rumour, speculation, and then some jumping to conclusions.

Who told you that the MiG21Bis was to be released before the sound was updated?

Has anyone said anything officially about when what will be released, and with which iteration of DCS World?

Let's try and keep this to what we KNOW, and leave the wild and worthless speculation out of it.

Uh -- what did you find out from Chizh?

1. That they're creating an interim 1.2.9 version for the Sabre release.

2. That the MiG-21 won't be in this interim 1.2.9 version.

So, essentially, almost nothing new. 1.2.9 was not supposed to exist.

I heard about it here, today, for the first time. It hasn't had any bearing on the MiG-21 -- our binaries are currently compiled for 1.3.0.

This is a fluid situation and I don't have any concrete information to share with you all just yet.

Thanks Nicolas,

As ever the fluidity of this is actually interesting in and of itself.... your input here is always appreciated... a few lines here save pages of random speculation. Thanks

Thanks for digging this up. Basically it´s not bad news that the F-86 is coming soon, irresepctive of EDGE status, but I really hope EDGE and 1.3.0 aren´t being delayed much longer (for which there is no direct evidence). This has gone on long enough.
