genbrien Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I don't understand why so many people thinks that kickstarter is eshop and funding project is buying stuff. when the project is funded there is something called money that is taken from you for a product that you pledge. Here, when you gives money to someone for a product it's call buying You can pledge more than selected tier just to support project it is your right yes, and I did this many times(bought the P-51 and Mi-8 but flew them about 2 times) without being greedy. If I go to a shop.... let say... EB Games And I preordered a game + a book, and I paid for them both. Then the day the product is ready, I'm going back to the shop, but they only gives me the game, and they say that they don't have the book and they keep the money.... Am I greedy because I want the money back of something I paid for something I was told I would get? 1 Do you think that getting 9 women pregnant will get you a baby in 1 month?[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mobo: Asus P8P67 deluxe Monitor: Lg 22'' 1920*1080 CPU: i7 2600k@ 4.8Ghz +Zalman CNPS9900 max Keyboard: Logitech G15 GPU:GTX 980 Strix Mouse: Sidewinder X8 PSU: Corsair TX750w Gaming Devices: Saytek X52, TrackIr5 RAM: Mushkin 2x4gb ddr3 9-9-9-24 @1600mhz Case: 690 SSD: Intel X25m 80gb

Dalminar Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 In light of this news, I have increased my outlook for Eagle Dynamics tremendously. Are you guys publicly traded? Where can I buy your stock?
billeinstein Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 One more question: I have the $112 and can get 5 aircrafts. I have already get P-51d and 190D. May I choose the 109, spitfire, P-47 and 262*2? Or the last one must be the P-51D or 190D? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

wuffman Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) Ignore the $50 pledge To begin with, DCS is a great flight sim. Since there were only 312 out of 2,553 that fell into the $50 pledge it's easy to see how this is perceived as "meaningless". However it is a textbook example of why "buyer beware" is a proverb. Unlike many people here, I do not have money to burn, and I made a decision to go a little further than the $40 pledge. In return I am valued exactly the same as the $40 commitment, so I feel like one of Barnum and Bailey's. This is NOT about the change in rewards, rather the total dismissal of what it meant to give more than the lower tier. I could suggest $10 credit to be applied towards a map/ AC, but I'm sure the very premise of equitable recognition will be drowned out by the rush of the majority to let everyone know how "great" they think this is. I could care less at this point if I got anything, but to get the same as the guy who actually cared less, well, shame on you ( next time shame on me ). To the other 311 of you guys, sorry, and when I rise to power I will give you $10 credit towards something. This is way more worry than it's worth already. Back to "Believe it when I see it". To end, DCS is a great flight sim. - wuff - Edited July 9, 2014 by wuffman wanted to 1
westr Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I didn't think ED would do this to its customers and my gut instinct was proved right. Good show ED. I think you are right to reduce the amount of aircraft given away for a small backing and I support you with that. And you have done the right thing by allowing a choice of flyables. I hope everything goes smoothly for the remainder of the development. Psyrixx Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I must say I'm still somewhat impressed with ED and how they listen to the community. I remember a fiasco like this happened when Mi8 went on sale ... and they gave me back a %70 coupon to use in the future,, (still havent used it yet, hmmm decisions) Earmarked for DCS: F/A-18 Hornet. :D :joystick::joystick::joystick::joystick::joystick: :pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:  Robert Sogomonian | Psyrixx website| e-mail | blog | youtube | twitter

Altflieger Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Absolutely thrilled that 20% of the $50 I donated for 6 aircraft and alpha access goes straight into ED's pocket, even under this new financially advantageous arrangement by ED of backers terms and conditions. So screwed over twice in effect. ED wouldn't like to reconsider this decision? Maybe offer a $10 voucher? For only 312 of us? 1

greggr62 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I just happened to see these updates. I have also backed for $150, which I do not see in the new system. Where is the $150 going to land? I also already own the P-51D, I have bought it right when it was launched. I would really value being able to exchange the already owned Mustang for another aircraft (as stated in the new $160 category.
upupandaway Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 That is where Alpha starts under the new structure. ... Feels kinda "meh", but whatever... Nevermind. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!

Stonehouse Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Sorry I've tried to read through the thread to see if this has been already clarified but can't see it - not complaining you understand but just want definite clarification so I know what to nominate for my $80 plus $12 shipping and whether I need to preorder the FW190. My original pledge included the DCS World FW190 plus the DCSWW2 aircraft and the rest of the $80 level DCS World pledge. With Wags's post does that mean now that the DCS World FW190 reward has gone away and for me will be replaced with a choice of 4 aircraft plus $12 credit for shipping? or Do I get the DCS World FW190 license plus a choice of 4 aircraft and $12 credit? Thanks, Stonehouse

Kraut Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Thank you so much Wags! I'm at the $50 level and just wanted any 2 planes but the P51. Thanks for listening! Any idea how alpha and beta is going to work now? or is that going away completely? I would still like my alpha access if possible, of course I will be buying all the other aircraft not included in my package. It would be nice to keep my alpha access for those too if possible, or if it still exists. https://www.youtube.com/user/jackwilson4747
Blade_meister Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 You didn't buy anything and you very obviously don't understand KS and the inherent risks you assume as a "backer" with your pledge. And in your example, with the current situation of the WW2 development, it would be like taking your pre-order from EB Games into a Best Buy store and asking them to honor it. They would tell you to get the hell out of their store, at least ED isn't doing that to you. ED is finishing RRG's product and cleaning their mess up, they don't owe you anything as you never purchased/funded/backed anything through them. +1 Everyone should just be happy that ED picked this up and that you are getting something. The other side to this would be an announcement: We are very sorry, RRG can not finish this project and we here at ED cannot financially assume the risk of finishing the project, so it is officially terminated and refunds are not possible because RRG has spent all of the KS funds. Please stop whining about 10$, I am at the 150$ level, and there isn't one, I am scaled back to the 140$ level. Big whoop, I don't get the free DCS product of the 160$ level and I don't get my 10$ back. I hope that little bit of money difference helps ED along with what they are doing to fulfill the project.
