O_Smiladon Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 S! All Just wondering, There was talk about a B17 coming into the mix maybe later on after the release of DCS WW2. Will this still be possible ?? Do you think ED has a desire to build such an aircraft? Really hope so, to me that would be the holy grail if ED put this aircraft into the mix with there high fidelity builds I know I am getting a bit ahead of our selfs but what do ya reckon. do you think its worth a crack Wags :pilotfly: O_Smiladon 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team NineLine Posted July 10, 2014 ED Team Posted July 10, 2014 I am sure the AI one is coming still, after all we need AI targets for DCS 1944. As for a player controlled one... I think that is too far out to call right now, but a player controlled WWII bomber... sign me up. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Roadrunner Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) i remember some b-17 screenshots, dont know where though, might have been on the facebook page from rrg? so i would assume an AI version could be released with the map. Dalminar Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I hope there are many different AI bombers. Even if it's just the B-17 flight model with a different look to imposter a B-24 or something. I really suck at dogfights and I am mainly waiting for DCS WWII so I can shoot down WW2 bombers.

Preferably a late war variant, with chyenne tail as well. If we're lucky, equipped with a device / radar for bombing through the clouds. westr Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I would happily pay the 3rd party developers if one of them released a pack of A.I ww2 aircraft for dcs world. I don't need every release to be flyable. I would be happy to pay the same as say the existing cost of a flyable simply because it would add so much to the mustang and future ww2 releases. 1 RYZEN 7 3700X Running at 4.35 GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti 32gb DDR4 RAM @3200 MHz Oculus CV1 NvME 970 EVO TM Warthog Stick & Throttle plus 11" extension. NeilWillis Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Oh my, can you imagine a B17 with full DCS level modelling!!! I believe that VEAO are considering the Lancaster too. Just picture the scene....7 players, multiplayer, on a run in to the Mohne dam - left left left ---- steady ---- Bomb gone! Then the bomb, with fully modelled physics goes skipping across the Mohne See before sinking and exploding and raising a column of water 300 ft into the air behind the bomber. The theme music would of course be the Dambusters march. Anyone want to sign up to the virtual 617 Squadron and fly the most epic bombing raid in any war ever? Please please please can we have it next year?

The model we were working with in those pics is pretty simple... was only as AI tests.. we have better models... was not related to RRG at all... Charly_Owl Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Bacon... Hmmm... I mean... B-17. Hmmmm... I sincerely hope we'll someday be able to fly one in DCS. Bombing missions are some of the most interesting missions in a flight sim. It poses all sorts of challenges fighter pilots don't need to tangle with. HonorNecris Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 B-17 Flying Fortress: The Mighty 8th, and Janes: WWII Fighters were my introduction to combat flight sims (along with the other Janes releases). I hope I live to see the day where I can walk around and assume positions in a high fidelity B17. Oh what a task it would be, but I have faith.
